We stopped in for a weeknight dinner and were pleasantly surprised with the delicious food and great service! This must be a low key neighborhood gem but def worth it if you are having a Latin American craving. IT definitely gives a family business vibe which is always a welcoming vibe. I will say the menus were a bit sticky and the table could of been cleaned better before we were seated (had some crumbs) but that could of just been an off day for them? Regardless we will be back to try some other tasty food. read more

We tried the short rib skillet, ropa pal viejo, papas bravas, papas con chorizo, and the tres leche cake. They were all really good, especially the chorizo and cake. I only wish the portion sizes were just a little bigger. Especially for the skillet. But an overall solid restaurant. read more

This place is one of the best kept secrets in Ukrainian Village! From the worlds coldest beer, to the amazing specials, to the insanely thoughtful food, to the servers it literally doesn't get better! We started with the empanadas, which were so comforting and part of their special. Then tried the coconut shrimp, papas bravas, and spinach salad, all outstanding. This year for my birthday, I just wanted to eat a really good meal. My husband, sister, and I had lunch at dell rooster based on all the glowing reviews and I'm glad to have visited. We arrived around 2pm on Friday for a late lunch. My husband started with the mango Rico and I had a mixed juice blend that's not on the menu but they were kind enough to put together for me. Both were very good. My sister had the steak jibarito with fries and that was probably the best entree of the day. It was well seasoned and packed a lot of flavor. We also shared the kids meal pancakes, which were tasty and a lot of food for the price. My husband's skirt and eggs were pretty good, but the steak did not come to us at the temperature we requested. Not a big deal because the server brought out a replacement that was better. My entree, which I can't remember the name of, lacked salt. I didn't realize what was missing and we had so much food that I took most of it home. When I ate it the next day, I just added some salt and it was much better. So a few little missteps but on the whole it was a good experience. read more

The server/cook greater us as well wakes in and cracked a few jokes that made this place feel extreme warm and like you're in someone's home and not a restaurant. He gave great suggestions and not to mention highlighted the flavors. The sangria is no joke btw so be careful lol. I will say the croquettas stole the show for me!!! read more

We ordered the Milanesa a Caballo - which is Uruguay style breaded chicken, garlic aioli, fried egg*, roasted potatoes, and the Tampiquena - Skirt steak, gallo pinto, morita sauce. The short rib and grits was on par with what I would expect at an expensive fancy restaurant and were absolutely amazing. We also got the oxtail, beef empanadas, and the corn bread (it was to die for). Stepped out for Sunday Brunch, and Dell Rooster did not disappoint. Everything on the menu sounds amazing, so we ordered family style. We started with drinks and appetizers. PAL GÜERO and MEZC-FASHIONED for drinks. They were delicious. The citrus notes balanced well with the rye whiskey in the PAL GÜERO. For our appetizers, we chose DELL' ROOSTER CROQUETTES and ROPA PAL' VIEJO. The croquettes were creamy and savory; an amazing twist to salmon croquettes.ROPA PAL' VIEJO...phenomenal. The plantin is sweet, and the Ox tail is tender and savory they come together and do a dance in your mouth. I'd come back for this dish alone. For our entrees we ordered: ROOSTER & WAFFLES, SKIRT & EGGS, and DULCE DE LECHE PANCAKES. Everything was on point, the steak was tender, the pancakes melt in your mouth, and the chicken balanced the sweetness of the waffle very well. Generous portions, so we were more than full when we left. Attentive service and intimate seating made you feel welcome. I'm certainly going back.
