The delivery person calls and asks to be met downstairs, claiming a "parking" issue. No other restaurant in the area seems to have this problem. This food is the real deal. 4 star because the shrimp was very overcooked. Maybe I shouldn't have ordered shrimp for delivery. Not impressed at all neither with service or Pizza. Both eggplant and chicken Panini though look pretty appetizing it had broccoli rabe that was cooked but still carry it bright green color and mozzarella made it complete. Can't say anything about main course but they do have a long list of seafood, meat and pasta entrees. That will be a discovery for the next time. read more

I was treating my staff to lunch. The group settled on pizza and it was my job to find a location. I immediately went to Yelp and found "Delmar Pizzeria." They got good reviews so I gave them a call. I ordered two pies to pick up. They told me twenty minutes, which seemed reasonable. After fifteen minutes I made my way there. The area it was located in was nice and busy. I found side street parking and checked in. To my surprise they offering free garlic knots with a check in. I thought, nice, and headed in. Inside the counter is on your right side. They also have a kitchen in the back. The pizzeria was nice and modern looking, I loved the leather seating in the dining area. The three gentleman behind the counter were talking when I walked in. But I finally got someone's attention. I told him I was there for the pies. He brought them over and put them on the counter. I asked for the prices and he seemed offended. He said I can show you the receipt. I told him it was a business expense and I needed the info. He gave me the receipt and charged my credit card. I almost forgot about the free Knots. When I mentioned it he looked annoyed. He put them in the oven and began talking to a friend near by. He said to his friend, "I need to cancel that (expletive) thing! I'm giving away free garlic knots." I was shocked, but didn't reply. He didn't understand that I was excited about the promotion, now I felt like I did something wrong. I took the food and left. Back with the staff they immediately started eating. A few employees mentioned the slices were too oily. I'm prompted me to try one. I agreed with the popular vote. It didn't taste bad, it's just grease ran down my hand. Everyone ate and was full, but they didn't seem to like the pizza so much. I would have went back myself if the gentleman wasn't so rude. I guess it's true you can't make everyone happy, but you can try to prevent them from being unsatisfied, by just being friendly. read more

Having the Delmar pepperoni pizza pie made me realize how wrong so many pizzerias in Brooklyn are doing it. They do not use that super circular and flat processed pepperoni, it is of a much higher quality. The smell of this pizza alone lets you know how delicious it is going to be. The sauce is very good as well as the cheese and crust. If you are in the sheepshead bay area and want an amazing pepperoni pizza pie. Also had their bacon alfredo pizza and that is super delicous as well. It is creamy, crunchy, salty, and tangy. What is not to love? This business just lost our business! The customer service at this place is disgusting!!!. We have used them for office parties and large celebrations for some time now. Ordered by phone to pick up. Not the easiest conversation, I just wanted the special. Total and time, brought it home and was seriously underwhelmed. Raw onions. One of the best Italian pizzeria in this neighborhood. You can pick different slices( thin or thick ) and they are always fresh! I would recommend vegetable ( they are with broccoli, mushrooms, pepper ) or regular thin slice with tomato sauce and cheese. Also their pasta pretty good! Try fettuccine Alfreda, this is mouthwatering! Or if you don't like heavy sauces pick spaghetti marinara! It is light pasta with tomato and basil. Without a question, the best pizza that I've tried in the Sheepshead Bay area. To be honest, there isn't a whole lot of top notch competition in the neighborhood, but at the same time credit needs to be given for the good quality of pizza that Delmar does manage to churn out. I've had a chance to try Delmar a few times now and the pizza here is surprisingly very good in flavor and texture. When I say surprising, I mean in the sense that the area is not known for pizza because it's no secret that the predominant cuisines in Sheepshead Bay are Turkish food and sushi. Delmar is a relatively nice pizzeria compared to many outer borough pizzerias. The facade, exterior and interior were renovated years ago and the place now looks pretty new. The pizza is at the front, while the seating is in the back. There are booths to the side and a few tables in the middle. I've tried a few different flavors of their pizza on my visits here - Vodka, Pepperoni, Vegetable and Buffalo Chicken. Although the Pepperoni is my favorite, my girlfriend prefers the Buffalo Chicken. I love that the Pepperoni pizza actually has that Pepperoni taste to it, with the little kick to it, mainly because there is an abundant amount of small round pepperonis scattered on it. Whatever a customer's preference is, Delmar's pizza share one thing in common, a thin crust. The crust is not razor thin on the pizza, but it's still significantly thinner than most traditional NY-style pizza, which is 1 reason why I love Delmar's crunchy breading. Another reason the pizza is so good here is because they do not skimp on the toppings. Whether it's the Vegetable, Pepperoni or Buffalo Chicken, they are all filled with the maximum amount of toppings the pizza can fit .. and who doesn't love a pizza with a truckload of cheese and toppings on it?! Delmar is a solid neighborhood pizza joint. It's nowhere close to the most popular pizzeria in Brooklyn, nor are they the best, but they are definitely better than the average pizzeria. My only complaint would be that the pizza slices are a bit pricey ranging from around $2.75-$3.00+. Unfortunately, I'm never fully aware of what the price is of their slices because they don't display them. It'd be a nice change though if they finally did display their pizza slice prices so that customers actually know how much they are spending because a slice here and there can get pretty pricey. read more

Most Yelpers have their favorite pizza eatery. I thought I did too, until I met Delmar. Read up on some reviews before placing my order. Got the Buffalo Chicken Pizza slice and an Alfredo slice. The buffalo chicken was full of tangy, cheesy goodness, couldn't stop eating. When I got to my the Alfredo pizza I realized there were bacon bits in it, double the yummy factor. I didn't order for takeout as I devoured the slices inside the store. Prices are just about average in Brooklyn, but their flavors are anything but typical pizzeria. Of course stopping by New York entails a trip to a pizzeria! I was staying a few minutes away from Del Mar, so the spot was super convenient for me. I had 2 slices of pepperoni, 1 slice of cheese, and 1 slice of Alfredo. The Alfredo was out of this world good - so creamy and perfectly complimented by the bacon on top. The pizza dough here is light, crusty, and crispy - absolutely delicious. There is the perfect amount of cheese and sauce - with such a perfect ratio, there was no sogginess at all! The pepperoni were also plentiful and was just the right amount of crispy. Sooooo good. Also, the pizza wasn't excessively greasy either. The guys working here are so friendly and welcoming, which I totally appreciated since this was my first time at a NY pizzeria and I needed some time to choose. Most of my NY experience consisted of people rushing me and pushing me, so this was a definite nice change of pace! There was always a good flow of people coming in and out, which is awesome cuz hat means that they keep on putting out fresh pizza! Prices were awesome too. Delmar is touted as the prototypical Brooklyn slice, and it lived up to its rep. The place had a lot of traffic, as a pie for slices didn't last ~30 minutes while I was here. I just tried the regular slice, although I wanna go back to try the alfredo bacon, white, and the fresh mozzarella slices, as they both looked great as well. Regardless, its hard to say something about this place that hasn't been said already. The slices are just about as ood as slices get. Everything balances beautifully, and if I was hungrier I could've eaten a whole pie. The only complaints I had were that in the sauce they didn't need as much herbs as they had, they couldve used a little less cheese, and the crust could've been a little less dense, but these are only nickpicking. As a whole its a great slice, and I'd say traveling out to Sheepshead Bay to hang out by the water and check this place out is well worth it. I don't even know where to start. I ordered pizza and garlic knots. Pizza was ok, same you can find about anywhere but it was delivered without my garlic knots. So I called them and 30 min later my garlic knots show up... without sauce? So I called them to ask about this and this not so pleasant fella on the phone tells me you have to ask for sauce. Had the pizza here many moons ago and don't exactly remember my experience, just remembered that it was good and that I didn't rule this place out. Recently had shrimp parm hero and the bf had the chicken parm hero and he's a bit picky with his chicken parms, but we both enjoyed our heroes! The only thing we would prefer (or will ask for next time) would be more sauce. Located on Sheepshead Bay Road on the side with no standing (though everyone hangs out there anyway) so it'll be hard to pick up unless you're with someone.
