I order here about every other week to once a month for a few years now. I like to order direct from local spots, from local businesses. They are the only Italian/pizza spot in the neighborhood. They have a pretty good grandmas pizza, I like the pasta dishes and the spinach side. For some reason though, they can never get my order right. It's become a joke in our house the last time I was pretty upset because not only did they not get my order right the just didn't make it and 2 hours later I called to find out that they were about to close having not even thought to make it (this time I had ordered off of their all Slice so the order would hopefully be right. I order the same things as well. Either a grandma pie, a vodka sauce pasta with fried chicken, or spaghetti and meatballs. All pretty good and nice portions, but I gotta say it's consistently disappointing to once again get the wrong order. Tonight I ordered tortolini vodka with chicken, which is on the menus, and I got torotolini with red sauce which isn't even on the menus. The time before that I got just penne pasta with vodka and no chicken lol. Like I said it's kind of a joke, but when I order here it's a treat. I do it on days I got paid and I can relax and not do dishes and it's always a bummer to find out it's not what I ordered. Good food though obviously or I wouldn't keep ordering it. read more

Before Covid lockdown, I would probably give this place 5 stars. While the food wasn't great, atleast the free 2 litre soda (with over $25 purchase) sealed the deal for me. During the lockdown, they removed the deal. Now that the lockdown has been lifted, they still did not reinstate the free 2 litre soda, we're stuck paying 30-40 dollars for mediocre food. To give Luigi's credit, they do have a saving grace, and it's the Grandma's Pie. If the burgers, the chicken, and the fries are tasteless, the Grandma's Pie is delicious. The restaurant is open for dine-in, everything is in order, and there's a nice smell from the oven. If only the appetizers were as good as they smell. read more

I never left a poor review before but this place made me fed up. Ive been buying pizza from them the last 8-9 years. Out side their location they have a sign that says 2 regular slices come with a FREE can of soda for 6$. For the last year, year and a half they keep refusing to give me the can of soda when I take my order to go or order a delivery. Today I ordered on grub hub, and the grub hub charges 7.50 for 2 slices. I am not one to complain about such a minor thing if it happens once or twice but has been happening for a months now, and it adds up. I called to speak to the manager, and he said it is only for in store purchases and that grub hub charges more, because its their "fees". No their fee is added to the total price of the order, it is displayed on the receipt separately.. The prices are made up by the establishment. Bottom line is I feel like im being taken advantage off. The sign does not say that it is an eat in policy. Since it doesn't specify, I believe they should either have it corrected, or execute what they printed on that sign. Very disappointed. read more

Some loser opened Joey's Pizza on the other side of Brighton Beach (by Ocean Parkway) and I told the dufus he won't last, not with his awful pizza and Luigi's some 8 blocks away. He didn't believe me. Puffed out his puffy cheeks and wagged his puffy little finger at me. Six month later loser Joey bad pizza guy is gone and Luigi's is going strong. If you want decent pizza around brighton beach, Luigi's is the way to go. I ALWAYS order delivery from them. The pizza always comes fresh. Never old slices. Some yummy slices are the penne vodka slice (comes with actual penne vodka on top of the slice) and buffalo chicken slice. Their regular cheese slice is good too! Crunchy and never soggy. Compared to other pizza spots on brighton, you can't beat it. Also, they have a 2 cheese slice and soda deal if you walk in for $5.50. Can't beat that either. Also good beef patties and chicken rolls as well. They made a mistake on my delivery once, I called them and they did not hesitate to bring me the correct slice. This used to be my go-to spot, considering I live right across the street from it... until tonight. I decided to order a Philly cheese steak, which I USED to love from here. Haven't had it in a while, and decided to order. What came can barely be called a cheese steak sandwich. It was about 80% break. They skimmed so hard on steak and cheese. I don't know if it is the effect of the pandemic and times are hard, but adjust your prices accordingly. You charged the same high ass price for this garbage. Never ordering from here again. Ordered one night at 11:10pm and received it 11:53pm. The lady on the phone warned me that they are closing and will deliver around 11:30pm. Now the pizza. I ordered half vodka sauce (not penne vodka) and half fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil. What I got was not tomato slices but just the sauce. Use to be my favorite pizza. Last night my husband and I ordered a fresh mozzarella pie and gave an $8 tip. While eating my slice I had to pull a long hair out my mouth. We called to give them a chance to make things right and the individual who answered was extremely rude and said it was a hair from my head. Not only was the hair way longer than my hair if it was my hair it would have been right on top not threaded into the cheese. Please see the pictures. After the terrible customer service we did not trust them to make another pizza for us and just wanted a refund. The rude manager said we had to contact seamless so we did. The nice representative at seamless contacted the pizzeria and said they refused the refund but they will refund it anyway. Thank goodness for seamless. Great food, great deals and a friendly staff. The regular slices are delicious, that is usually how I measure the quality of all of their other foods. If you can make a simple regular slice taste good, then I trust you with everything else. The place is very clean, simple and menu is straight to the point. Let's start out with the worst part.... I ordered a spinach roll (along with other things), and paid online via credit card for said spinach roll. I didn't get said spinach roll, and when I called the restaurant back to ask where it was, they refused to pick up the phone. For a solid hour. And I know they were actively avoiding phone calls because every time I called there was a busy signal, meaning they took the phone off the hook, and the second I called when there was none, it would ring for a solid 10 minutes, and then immediately go back to busy signal. I don't understand how any business that wants to retain any sort of clientele would work in such a manner. I also realized shortly after this, that this Luigi's is owned by the same mediocre-to-awful Luigi's that I reviewed a week ago! Had I known, I never would've ordered from here, knowing it would be an absolute complete waste of money. So let's get on with what else they did wrong... (shocker)... I ordered a caesar salad. It came with a handful of lettuce, bare minimum of dressing (coating the bottom of the aluminum dish it came with, and little else), and a few croutons. It tasted ok. Had it been substantial, I wouldn't have minded paying for it. I also ordered a penne ala vodka, which, although it tasted decent (3/5 stars), it had no Parmesan, and not the slightest hint of pepper - which it desperately needed. The aluminum tin was also 1/3 full. I think I could count the pieces of pasta we received. If you've got some time on your hands, you can count them via the photo I uploaded. It was roughly 30. That's not worth what we paid for it. I ordered zeppoli, and instead of getting zeppoli, which are balls of dough deep fried, and completely covered in powdered sugar - instead I got tire-shaped pieces of dough (half the size of regular zeppoli), which not only aren't zeppoli, but are also covered in so little powdered sugar, that I could barely tell it existed in the first place. They were chewy (to the point of actually hurting your jaw), and tasted old and stale. I ordered beef patties, which were good, but how hard is it to re-heat Jamaican beef patties after they've already been made for you? I so rarely give a place 1 star - I usually reserve it for restaurants where I literally get sick off the food. But this place was so dismissive, didn't care about their customers complaints (like paying for something online that was never delivered), and going so far as to take their phone off the hook to avoid answering it when a customer complains... Come on, that's just nonsense. And it's nonsense that no one should have to deal with. No thank you. I will most CERTAINLY be ordering from elsewhere, and advise that you do the same. Their ignoring of my phone calls is frustrating, and the longer they ignore, the longer my frustration grows, because you know what - when you mess up an order - especially one that a customer has already paid for - it's your responsibility as a conscientious restaurant - to make sure that customer gets said order - even if they order an hour before your closing time, and it takes you an hour to deliver it, leaving them less than a minute to call you back to complain about the order you messed up. And if it's an inconvenience to you to remain open for a few mins. longer when you've messed up someone else's order, then that's something you should deal with. Now I'M dealing with a messed up order until they re-open tomorrow at noon, and I'll be starving all night for them having forgotten my meal, (the rest of this order was my boyfriend's - thankfully I stole a bite of everything), and being too cocky to pick up the phone to remedy it. [Edit] - I'm increasing their rating to 2 stars because they just agreed to deliver the spinach roll I didn't get yesterday. It tastes ok (3/5) but is about 25% smaller than your average spinach roll. They make the same mistake of their Ave. U Luigi's location of not chopping the spinach up first, so you take a bite, and the entire rolls contents drag out of the dough, and are gone. Wouldn't order again. Not impressed. read more

Ordered a lot of times from this place. Pizza is good, delivery is fast, but for past couple of times they did not put everything that I ordered. Ordered garlic knots and marinara sauce on a side plus other stuff. Everything was delivered fast and pizza, garlic knots were were hot, so this is Awesome. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon on the way to the beach, wanting a little lunch snack prior. They have two slice with coke special for $5.50. The pizza was actually pretty good, I always get the plain cheese slice which after they put in the oven to warm was nice and gooey. They have a pretty decent selection of pizza slices and the prices are pretty fair as well. Definitely stop by on the way to the beach for a good snack, or after a long day at the beach! read more

Tough call on the rating here, which is a weighted average between the regular pizza and some elaborate concoction that may or may not technically count as a grandma slice. The regular one was lacking, primarily in the tomato sauce department. But the other one was an action-packed combo of sauce, tomato slices, mozzarrella, basil and garlic. Yes, I broke my diet to try a slice of Luigi's pizza because a friend had raved about the place. And while I have definitely had more flavorful sauce and cheese, it was a very decent slice and much tastier than the $1/slice places I usually frequent. The pizza parlor is clean, well lit and the people working here were friendly. Overall I would say, a 3.5 would be a more accurate rating. A welcome addition to Brighton Beach Avenue! read more
