This place is my golden slice, the perfect slice of NY style cheese I compare all other's to. My family has been enjoying the pizza here since the 60's. When I make the trip to NY this is one of my must stops. Needless the say, the crust is ideal, with a light crispness. The sauce has a nice tang with out being sweet. Their sign says they are famous for white pizza, and I can see why. They spread the slight sweet ricotta evenly where the sauce would be, it is then topped with mozzarella cheese, this goes on their same wonderful crust. I this was my first visit in over 8 years, the neighborhood has changed alot, I think this is one of the few business that has been there over a decade (let alone 4). I dropedin for a late slice and some Gino's iceses on a Monday night and was a bit surprised that they did not have any italian ices. I don't know its seasonal, or if the change of the neighborhood brought about this travesty. If you have a taste for the more exotic pizza they will have what ever the current fad pizza is, over the years there has been Al la vodka pizza, eggplant pizza, pizza with pasta on it, and today a bacon Alfredo seems to be en vogue. The inside is straight forward counter upfront to order, a few booths in back, and a restroom past that. If you want some of the best pizza in the word, with out any of the long lines i highly recommend trying this family owned place. read more

Their pepperoni pizza is amazing simply because they put the cheese on top of the pepperoni, makes such a great difference. 2 of my favorite pizzas at this places are the Vodka pizza, which is nothing like any vodka pizza i've ever tasted anywhere else, and also the Alfredo pizza with bacon bits. I've yet to try a regular slice in New York that comes remotely close to delmars. And I always make it my priority to try new pizzeria wherever I go. Their sauce to cheese ratio is perfect and the crust comes out crisp to perfection about 99% of the time. The grandma and vodka slices are also pretty amazing. This is a true hidden gem in the heart of south Brooklyn. If I could give it a half of star, I would. I was very hungry and ordered a chicken roll to go. What could go wrong with a simple pizzeria dish like chicken roll?! Everything!!! It was the worst chicken roll I've ever seen or tasted. I only tried a piece and threw the rest in the garbage. First of all I've never seen a chicken roll so dry, not a drop of any kind of sauce. Absolutely dry and burned pieces of chicken a drop of cheese and almost raw tomatoes. It seemed as they took whatever the leftovers they had and make a roll. It looked and tasted absolutely disgusting. Last time my parents came over and wanted to order pizza from them, because it's supposedly the best. I want to start by saying this was a one of the best pizzeria in sheepshead bay but recently they got alot of new young employees and the customer service and morale has just changed I ordered a specific order and the girl on the phone kept saying anything else as if she had everything the way I asked. Then the food took over a hour and a half to get here. When I contacted the store for the first time the girl had a attitude and said its going to be about 20 mins more 45min pass I call back she laughed and said another 10mins then hung up. I used to enjoy eating at Delmar Pizzeria until today. I walked in, starting cleaning a table cause staff never cleans tables after people get up. A man in a rude tone said I must show my vaccination card. This was not a problem since I always have it. I responded by " my mom has it." "Your mom has your card?" The guy said. This really isn't his business who has my card as long as I show it. Look, I get it, we all have rough days, but do not take it out on customers. I go to my mom to take out my card after she showed hers and I showed another guy my card. He had to analyze my card as if I was lying. Very odd!!! I said you know last time we were here, no one asked for our cards. Again, respect wasn't taught to these workers (I'm guessing), he responded, well these new rules just went into effect last week. Actually they did not, it's been in effect for a few weeks but the city is cracking down and fining places now. He gave me an attitude from that. To sum it up, he asked me what my issue is, I said I didn't like the way the other man "greeted" me with his attitude about the card.. and the guy started yelling I had the attitude. (I'm pretty sure this is the owner) I wouldn't eat at this place, but before I left he made sure to say goodbye by calling me a BITCH in front of other customers. Absolutely disgusting!!! I use to order at least ones a week from them, and noticed quality went down. Today I had a group of kids in the house and ordered pie. When it was delivered cheese was falling off the pie and I called to complain. Upon my return, a slight delay was conducted to grab a quick slice of pizza at Delmar Pizzeria. There isn't much that needs to be said about the interior confines at Delmar. The establishment itself resembles that of most Pizzerias in the surrounding Sheepshead Bay area. Most patrons that go to Delmar find themselves getting their Pizza to go. Those dining in can render themselves at ease on many of the Formica based seating booths available in the back of the establishment. Forget the Fresh Mozzarella, at Delmar's, it's all about the specifically processed stuff! Plain Cheese Slice: Similar in appearance, contrasting in taste. What should be highlighted about Delmar's rendition is the complex textural contrast derived from the three primary components of the Pizza. For starters, the slightly crispy crust foundation provides a welcoming introduction to a sauce that's both tangy, yet sweet. Slight hints of black pepper and oregano were detected when consuming the slice. The specially processed mozzarella topping was perfectly gooey, without the excessive renderings of the oily byproduct. What should also be noted about the cheese is the marveling balance of saltiness in its flavor. Just the right amount of salt was detected between the sauce and the mozzarella. I worked here one summer, errrr, 10+ years ago; it was actually one of my first jobs. WHY, you ask? Because it was damn delicious and a girl needs her pizza fix. I'm absolutely not biased, because I couldn't care less about who works here now and if you've seen my previous reviews, I am very objective about the pizza game. It is no laughing matter. I order every now and then, and this slice never disappoints. Really, it is your classic Brooklyn slice; perfect amount of cheese and robust tomato sauce, with a crust that's always fresh. Vodka slice here is good, but I always go for a classic regular. Honestly, I even stopped getting pepperoni because it messes with that cheesy regular slice that takes you back to childhood in Bensonhurst. The pasta here is delicious as well, but I have ONE complaint keeping this from being a five: guys, why is the penne vodka not al dente? Was disappointing. I called to place an order for delivery. I asked the girl 2-3 if there was any meat in the food and she said that didn't. When the food came in it turned out that there was ground beef in the half of the food I ordered. The rest of the food wasn't great either. What ticked me off was when I called the manager blamed me. Some of the best pizza you'll find in Brooklyn in an extremely unassuming atmosphere. The best slices I had were the Vodka slice and the Alfredo slice. Let's start with the Vodka. Instead of tomato sauce, it's vodka sauce -- and everything is better with vodka sauce. The flavor, the zest, the taste is unbelievable. I'd like to share an entire pie. Alfredo is creamy and has pieces of fresh bacon. Enough said. If you've never been to Delmar, make the trip to Sheepshead Bay Road to sample their wonderful creations. I have been eating here since i was a little girl, and if there is one word i can use to describe them besides being delicious, it would be consistent. Their round slices are awesome. Crust is always crisp and fresh, cheese always nice and gooey, sauce sweet and tangy. Their sicilians are great too. Nice thick crust, same great sauce and cheese. I have also become a fan of their grandma slice. Which is a thin crispy crust sicilian with fresh mozzarella and marinara sauce. As for food- their grilled chicken salad is great, the chicken is marinated and not at all dry. Their baked ziti and stuffed shells are awesome and i have no trouble finishing the whole order. Last but not least, everyone who works there including the delivery guys are all wonderful and always have a smile on their face.
