Thank you Delta economy for a very comfortable flight from Maui to LAX with a family of four. They seated 3 of us in the same row together although service was kind enough to allow me to sit in an empty row. Haven't done that since I was a kid. Delta airlines has done it again and the flight was very affordable so that's a nice bonus. 4.1 stars rounded up. Mahalo.

After flying Delta's One Suite, there was no doubt that their product was superior to other first class product from other Airline's. (Except for Jet Blue's Mint Studio, which I have yet to fly) I formerly flew with Hawaiian, but they need to get with the program with regards to first class product. It all begins with no Delta Club entrance for 1st Class passengers. That's weird, I could've sworn I just spent $1K+ for my seat. WOW! My very initial First Class seat on Delta began several weeks ago. The First class Stewardess, who was a young male, asked what I would like to drink before take off. I replied, give me your "Signature" drink. His reply was, I'm not sure what that is? I didn't either, so I asked for a Rum & Coke. The type of Rum I requested they did not carry. Another Wow! Where the hell am I? I said to myself. So I politely said, just give me a Coke...you do have that, right? LOL! Next, I made myself comfortable in my seat. They advertise that they clean very well due to COVID-19 and even give a little show of it on their onboard screens, which they call the Delta Standard. NOT! It's more like the Delta Non-Standard. I first opened a compartment that held the remote for the monitor and there were crumbs all over that compartment. There's more, but will not waste more of your time. Finally, after calling their 800# (800-323-2323) Reservations Line, it said I would wait 1hr & 43min...I waited 2hr & 23min and still no one answered. My cell battery was at 100%, but then dropped to 87%, so that's a plus, I guess. Hold music sucks as they play the same thing over and over. Anyone could easily have a great mix of other elevator music.

Delta operates about 15 flights per day out of Kahului covering about 8 mainland cities. The service is excellent and the "Red coats" are some of the best in the entire Delta system. The planes seem to be mostly 757's with newer interiors and a large "Economy Plus class" with newer, nicer seats. Service is wonderful and the gate personnel go out of there way to make departing palatable and arriving to paradise wonderful!

I am a PTSD survivor of Hawaiian Airlines and their smokescreen of Aloha , so I understand how it feels to be taken advantage of .

This flight was rough…read more We were delayed two hours. Then we were given some kind of voucher because none of the tvs worked. They cut off several people from getting through security when we're checking in for our flight then everything was so delayed it didn't make sense. The days of leis and good food are over. I know they just merged with Alaska hopefully things get better? We will probably choose delta or maybe even...southwest!! Ugh Flight attendants were very nice though!

Hawaiian Airlines is the main airline providing inter-island air travel between the major Hawaiian…read moreislands. We've flown them between Oahu to Maui & the Big Island, but have never been to Kauai (yet). On a recent flight from Daniel K. Inouye airport (HNL) to Kahului (OGG), it was a short 100 mile flight taking less than 1/2 hr. You barely get up to cruising altitude, served a prepackaged cup of Passion Fruit/Guava juice and then prep for landing. There is no time in between for snacks. The airfare for inter-island travel is very affordable at a current average of $150 roundtrip. I'll bet that barely covers the fuel plus the juice cup. The planes are the smaller twin engine Boeing 717 (used to be McDonnell-Douglas MD-88) short haul jets that hop back and forth multiple times a day, that they only service them when they land in Oahu. Pro-Tip: Be careful when you open your sealed cup of Passion Fruit/Guava juice because its internal pressure is at sea level while the cabin pressure is at 8000 ft. It will squirt out if you don't open the foil cover slowly to equalize the pressure.

Previous flights to Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island had always been on Hawaiian Airlines…read more I decided to try Alaska Airlines to fly RT between SeaTac and Kahului airports on 8/26/25 and 9/2/25. It was great to have direct flights. However, for a 5-6 hour flight this was a bit spare and cramped. Gone are the pre-pandemic amenities like magazines, movie/music entertainment, pillows/blankets, and food. SEA to OGG - two beverage service with a Biscoff packet, water service, agricultural/customs form, and heavy pitch for the Atmos card (Alaska had recently bought Hawaiian). Overpriced snack boxes that can be prepaid or paid by card during the flight, subject to availability. OGG to SEA (overnight/red eye flight) - one beverage service with a pretzel packet. Then dimmed lights until we landed 7am local time. My brother who flew ahead via Hawaiian Airlines described his flight experience which was in stark contrast: generous beverage service and actual meals served - generous deli sandwiches. Alaska Airlines could do better. I remember the good ol' days flying to San Francisco, then Alaska got a bit streamlined flying to Baltimore and Milwaukee, but now even more spare with this recent experience to Maui. The flight attendants and airport staff encountered at Kahului are great. But the overall Alaska Airlines experience was kind of meh. This does not bode well for the Hawaiian Airlines merger/takeover.

They sat my wife in the front of the aircraft (row 12 ) and me in row 33 (last row). As far apart as possible. It's well known own that the last row in an A330 is a nightmare. The seats don't recline, your back is against the bathrooms so the smell and sounds are awful. The last row is crammed in so tight the tray tables pressed into your stomach. But the worst part is how they separated my wife and I the full length of the aircraft. What a rote thing to do. They ruined our trip.

I needed to go from Kahalui to Waimea and boy was this easy. Small planes, with really nice staff, from counter to pilots. Our flights were easy, quick and fun. You can no longer watch the cockpit on regular flights, but you can watch the take off and landing on these flights, so much FUN. We met our dog in Waimea and came right back to Maui. So simple. The only negative is that our schedule changed several times but nothing that really made a difference for us. I will definitely use them again in the future. So easy to get from island to island without having to go through Oahu.

Way too many ownership changes over the years for one to expect quality to still be in the top 5 company goals. I had multiple reservations/flights cancelled for BS reasons and then customer service was terrible every fricken time I called - no idea where the call center is, but it's crap too. The last time, they didn't even bother to process the refund I had called to request in the first place so I had to call back and burn another 30 minutes on the phone to do it all over again. Wasted more than 5 hours of my life between setting up flights with the transport of an animal between the islands and then having to request refunds because they would cancel the flights 24-36 hours in advance for one of a multitude of reasons which was different depending on who I talked to. First it was an "unscheduled maintenance", then it was "staffing", then it was "regular maintenance with no back up plane planned" and finally "weather related" and "unforeseen circumstances". And each and every time, the flights were cancelled more than 24 hours in advance...what in the actual FFF? Over and over again during the course of a week of flights, they'll happily sell you tickets on flights they just continually (planned to) cancel. STOP SELLING TICKETS if you can't actually supply the flights. Get your sh*t together or close up shop. Don't waste your time booking and just avoid the nightmare.
