Tried this pizza spot for a co-worker's birthday and was surprised on how tasty the garlic pieces, stromboli with marinara sauce, and bbq chicken wings were. The marinara sauce is flavorful and goes perfect with the stromboli. The garlic pieces tastes like the pizza dough crust topped with delicious garlic butter. The garlic butter is really good, but I do wish it was a bit less salty. They have a small dining area which is nice if you want to eat there. I decided to order takeout not too long ago for my family since we were craving good pizza. We ordered two medium pizzas, garlic pieces, and a stromboli for myself. Everything was fresh and delicious. My family really enjoyed the pizza and garlic pieces. We are definitely going to be ordering from here more often when craving Italian! read more

Service-Ok, better than the last time we went in to eat. Ambiance-Ok, could use some deep cleaning. Food-I am not a pizza person, I really like the pizza, I always get the antipasta salad hoping it will get better, it does not... the lettuce is always wilted, the tomatoes are very soft, they are charging $8.99 for a small, the least they could do is provide fresh ingredients and maybe use romaine lettuce. read more

Horrible service and pizza! No one acknowledged my presence, stood there for a while until a young lady had to come and answer the phone. Even then, none of them spoke. Extremely unfriendly service, won't be returning for sure. Ordered two thin crust pizzas, they couldn't have made them any thicker; requested extra sauce on one, not added; ingredients tasted very old. Spent over $50 amd ended up discarding them after trying a slice out of each one. I couldn't help but notice the touting of "best of Inland Empire" recognition by the establishment. People eventually get fed up with mistreatment by staff when they could go elsewhere where they will get great quality pizza and be respected. I would stay away from this once decent neighborhood pizza place. The service has steadily gone down for a while now. From items charged but missing from the order to sloppily made pizzas. The most recent adventure saw an order placed for delivery with address confirmed to boot. Fast forward 2 hours with no food insight contacting the store sheds light on the situation by letting me know they thought it was for pick up. But no worries, if I paid an additional 7 dollars o could have someone deliver old pizza. When I opted to just pick up the pizza after having my own time wasted I was told I had to wait for the side items for my order. Shout out to the store for giving me dipping sauce cups absolutely slathered on the outside with sauce. Trash! Stay away, they don't even have the ability to make things right when they are at fault unless you cough up MORE money. Sad read more

Great pizza! Finally found a good spot for a nice pie, dough was perfect nice and crisp edges and not overloaded with sauce. They didn't not fall short when it came down to the toppings we ordered a large pepperoni, jalapeño, and pineapple pizza. Jalapeños were nice and spicy but the only complaint would be that the pineapple wasn't cooked enough it's almost as if they added it after the cook but either way still a great pie. We also ordered 10 piece hot bone in wings and a antipasto salad. The sauce on the wings were amazing great buffalo flavor but they weren't super fresh or warm. The salad wasn't crisp nor fresh it was a tad bit warm to be honest I think they had them sitting out and forgot about us they came and brought our pizza to our table and after 10-15 minutes we finally decided to ask for an update and they had them sitting on a rack unfortunately we were in a time crunch so we didn't ask for a remake but still overall a good spot I would go back to try out the rest of their menu. read more

DeMatteo's slipping a little in there food quality. My family and I went there 6/23/2024 he. Our salad was warm and the dressings were not cold. We ate it anyway, but now that I thought about it, we should have asked for a fresh one. The pizza was not as good also. I can't tell you why that was, but the family members were complaining to me about it. I had Stromboli and it was delicious as usual. I'm going to write this one off as a bad restaurant day, but will keep an eye on it for future updates. Hopefully management will correct any problems they might be having right away. They have been pretty consistent through the years. read more

I found this pizza restaurant, Dematteos Pizza, located on Magnolia Ave. in Riverside. On Wednesday, you can get any large or XL pizza for 50% off. I placed my order online at 5:00 pm and to pick it up at 6 pm. I went to pick it up, and my order was not even sent to the kitchen. I basically became a walk-in customer. The place was filled with customers who were picking up orders and placing orders. It was definitely a madhouse. I saw 4 or 5 pizzas going into pizza delivery bags, but my large Supreme was no where to to be found. I waited a total of 45 minutes for my pizza. There was no apology or explanation as to what happened. I talked to the owner, and she said she only makes the pizza and doesn't handle the placement of orders. The pizza was not bad. The ingredients are fresh, and it taste like their sausage is homemade. The toppings were a little skimpy compared to pizzas I saw at the restaurant. I want to try this place again, but not on Wednesdays. I will give 2 stars this time , and I will try it again soon. read more

We've been ordering from DeMatteo's on Magnolia for years. Reason, it's good pizza. However, we ordered 4 medium pizzas last night, 2 with "extra cheese". After comparing the 2 "without extra cheese" to the ones supposedly with "extra cheese" as ordered, it's more than obvious we didn't get extra cheese as we were charged "extra" for. In fact, both had less cheese than the ones with supposedly regular cheese content. If a customer orders and "pays" for "extra cheese" on their pizzas, maybe you should actually give your customers what they've paid "extra" for. read more

We had for the first time over the weekend. Pizza was really good, unfortunately the customer service really lacked. Girls at the register just didn't seem too happy to be there. We asked for suggestions since we had never been there, the girl turned her back to fix the tv and recited a few items, but we couldn't hear her. We had to ask for plates after the food was brought to the table. This place is about a 30 minute drive for us, it is not worth the drive for us to receive bad service. This is our default dinner at least one day a week. Our little girls absolutely love this pizza. The crust is light and fluffy. The sauce is proportionate to the toppings. But the real stunner - the garlic bread or knots. It's the same pizza crust but dipped in garlic butter, need I say anymore? Their wings are just as good and the cannoli is the perfect way to end a meal. They also have a portion where you can order ahead on their website. I've used them for all of our kids parties - I can order pizza, salad and bread to be delivered just before guest are set to arrive and without fail, they're always on time! Been coming here for years. Don't know what happened to this place. Pizza used to be good but now is bland. They must have new owners or management or simply employees that don't care. Last 3 times I ordered pizza they haven't even started on it yet when I got there 30min after I ordered it. Took over an hour to get my pizza. So, I won't lie that I was not expecting this place to be that awesome--it seemed like all the other take out pizza places that would be fine for what was needed, but I have been BLOWN AWAY every time we've ordered from this place. I've been so blown away that I always forget to take pictures before the food is eaten... My housemates and I had been looking for our go-to place in Riverside for pizza for easy dinner nights, and we finally found it in DeMatteo's! They have easy ordering online and delivery is super easy--and everything I've gotten to try from them has been great! The first time we ordered, my housemate got an individual pepperoni and we got a medium supreme to share. Since then I've tried the "4 Cheese Combo" which I feel like is mislabeled, but it includes tomatoes, garlic, basil, and artichoke hearts--I LOVE this pizza and their crust is really great! I recommend any pizza (although I'm curious and skeptical of the Western Bacon Cheeseburger pizza--it has onion rings on top which is both really appealing but also out of my box of pizza experiences!). They of course have build your own pizzas which is a great way to go if you're feeling it. Besides pizza, we have tried a few of their other offerings, including the wings (in Nashville Hot and Teriyaki), the jalapeno poppers, and the potato wedges--these have all been great! The potato wedges have a spice blend on them that is really enjoyable, especially with a little bit of ranch for dipping. However, my FAVORITE part of each order is the breadsticks. Online, the breadsticks look normal, but in reality, they are little baby breadstick bites that are drenched in a butter garlic sauce. When I say they are delicious, I have to let you know that I don't think I have the vocabulary to describe just how delicious these things are--I usually eat so many that I have a single piece of pizza, and that's how good they are. Give me more garlic carbs, please! Overall, so happy to have found this place within reasonable distance. We went yesterday and it was our first time here and we ordered a sausage and pepperoni large pizza, 2 boneless wing hot and bbq and breadsticks with a large drink! Wow we loved the food. My kids loved the breadsticks and the pizza also the boneless wings were awesome! For sure we will be back! And the place is small but clean and can watch the games there. The service is also ok!! They gave my order to the wrong person. I called and placed an order for a Stromboli and when I got there, they gave it to the wrong person. I understand things happen, but it was the lack of ownership and accountability for me. All the employees just had a weird confused look on their face and didn't know where my order went until one of them finally figured it out. I love DeMatteos I ordered an extra large italian pizza to be delivered with the delivery fee it came to $45. I asked the delivery guy if he got the fee and he said part of it so I tipped him $5. $50 for a pizza is kind of steep but it is the best in town.
