After driving for 11 hours, I stopped for dinner around 8:30 p.m. When I arrived at the restaurant, all the tables were empty, yet they seated me right by the entrance where the cold air was coming in. During our visit this morning, we overheard Lisa, the waitress we have had difficulties with, apologizing to a customer at the next booth for forgetting an order. She attributed her errors to the anxiety caused by our presence. This type of commentary is unprofessional and could negatively impact the overall guest experience. The majority of the waitstaff and the managers are genuinely outstanding; however, it's disheartening to see one waitress create tension in an otherwise welcoming atmosphere., telling a customer at the next booth that she was sorry for forgetting something. She stated that the customer's presence, with whom she had a prior difficulty, was causing her anxiety and thus leading to errors. Her manner of speaking is inappropriate for a professional setting. The other servers and managers demonstrate outstanding performance. read more

i worked restaurants my entire life since i was 14. stating as dishwasher/busboy and worked literally every job up to General manager. That said i KNOW SOS , 30 second greeting, with a smile and i know what good service looks like. Brittany my server tonight 07/27/2023 8:35 pm did everything perfectly and with a smile. she suggested drinks, add ons and made my overall experience outstanding. This kind of service is very RARE to find nowadays for whatever reasons (ie laziness, not trained properly, etc.) Brittany deserves a raisse and she deserves recognition for her great job. Worst Denny's experience we have had ever. All three orders had something incorrect. Fried Cheese melt with French fries The cheese was not American it was Swiss, fries were extremely over salted. They did not include the marinara sauce that comes on the side with the sandwich The egg white veggie omelette off there fit fare section, had cheese on it when we asked for no cheese, it was not made with egg white but yellow, they did not include the side of fruit that's supposed to come with the meal. The turkey dinner meal, the stuffing was actually burnt, literally black on one side of the pieces and very salty, my sautéed squash was not sautéed at all, my red skinned potatoes were heavily salted, the turkey, they gave 1 piece, it's supposed to have three slices. I intend to follow up with corporate. Just too many errors with this order. I won't be stopping at this location again. Next time I will be checking all to go orders before leaving any restaurant from now on. read more

The lady who seated us was very nice and a very good waitress. Unfortunately, not our waitress. Our waitress sat a long ways from our table and was far enough away, we gave her our order and she had to keep asking us to repeat it. On 6/22/2022, As we walked into Denny's my wife lost her balance and went to the ground. In January of this year my queen had suffered a stroke and now has difficulty walking. For the past several weeks she had been walking well without her walker, wheelchair or cane. My sweetheart is now sitting on the floor, but when i looked up the waitress was helping me pick up my wife from the floor. By then a few more customers helped me as well. The waitress named Britney M. stayed with my wife until we got to the booth. Britney is now our waitress and waited on us. Britney has great customer service, very attentive with a sense of urgency to serve. Britney is blessed with a servants heart. I did get the wheel chair from the trunk of my car and it made our visit in Denny's more enjoyable. My wife and I have now found a home away from home to eat....Denny's in Amarillo, Texas off of interstate I-40. Not a Denny's fan to begin with, but my sister-in-law likes it so I eat at Denny's with her. She chose the worst Denny's in the world when we ate at this location. First, it took 45 minutes to get our order. Others came in after us and got food quicker, so I am sure it had something to do with the eggs we ordered. Poached is an option on the menu, but the poached egg they serve has the consistency of a hard boiled egg. The waitresses told me the cook did not know what he was doing, but were we given credit for the eggs? Of course not! Just because the cook has no clue how to cook, does not mean you do not have to pay for it! My dog liked it, but it was not what I ordered. Overall, not a great experience. Two other orders were wrong. We just wanted to get back on the road, and we assumed if it took 45 minutes to get the orders, fixing it would probably take just as long. read more

Denny's - 9601 E I-40 - 8.23.16 - 9:15am Okay, it's no secret, I'm NOT a fan of the Denny's franchise. This morning my aunt and uncle from South Dakota were passing through Amarillo on I-40, and they asked my parents, my sister and myself to meet them for breakfast at the Denny's at the Flying J truck stop to see them off. Our server (I REALLY wish I could remember her name) was absolutely amazing. She kept our coffee filled and she refused to give us the bottom of the carafe, she brought fresh out. She was so sweet and fun, and when her shift was over she brought out the girl who would be taking her tables, introduced her, thanked us for coming, and said goodbye. She was a rockstar. The food. Meh. It's Denny's, you know? I ordered the "BYO all star" with 2 biscuits and gravy and 2x bacon. My first impression was that the biscuits were really hard around the outside... I didn't care for the flavor of the biscuits themselves - I am a B&G snob extraordinaire. The gravy was okay but I really needed more of it due to the hard biscuits. The bacon was the biggest letdown! Their bacon is sliced paper thin, and they cook it so crispy, there really isn't any "bacon" richness or smokiness left at all. I'm sure it's from an inferior product... It's hard to kill good bacon. I gave my mom all my bacon in exchange for a sausage link, which, when dipped in syrup, was heavenly. Most everyone else at the table seemed pleased with their food. My uncle specifically chose Denny's because he has Celiac disease and this is one restaurant he can visit anywhere in the country where he can trust that he is being served gluten free food that won't make him sick. I wasn't impressed with the food that I ordered, but just based on the waitress and her caring attitude, I would be willing to visit this location again - even though it's about as far away from my neighborhood as you can get without leaving the area code. read more
