Moons over my hammy all day everyday. We don't have Denny's near where we live and I love a good moons over my hammy it's what i think of when i think good breakfast sammich. Our waitress was the perfect amount of friendly and attentive, we were seated quickly and order taken timely. We both ordered the same with crispy hashbrowns. As the only occupied table the whole time we were seated, the hashbrowns could have been more crispy and perhaps overall sat on the grill another min or two they were on the edge of barely cooked. But that sammich, the bread was perfectly toasted (a tad too greasy), scrambled eggs were well cooked but could have been more evenly distributed but the ham and cheese were in place and in proportion nicely. Next time we travel through here we will likely stop for the same order. Restaurant was clean as a truck stop place usually is, as we were leaving a local came in- that's usually a good sign of consistency. read more

When she gave me my change she never counted it back to me. So after she handed it to me I counted it right there. Stopped off while driving from Cleveland to Dayton and we were not disappointed. Yes, it's a chain restaurant - but they all have their places. Denny's is great for a consistent breakfast. The Mrs. and I both ordered Moons over my Hammy. I also got coffee, which the first cup tasted a little weaker than I prefer, but when the waitress topped it off, it was better. The waitress was friendly and the service was quick. Breakfast came out and it was delicious. The bread is almost always slightly over-buttered, but it wasn't that bad this time. We don't live far so, thought I would cash in on my "Free" Grand Slam for my birthday!!! This Dennys is attached to a truck stop/gas station. It was about 9:30-10:00am kinda busy with some truckers at the bar and few families in booths. I could tell they were short staffed with a couple minute wait to be seated and some booths still needing cleaned. That's ok.. everyone is hurting right now. We were seated and waited on while being seated.. received our drinks and were ready to order. I of course ordered my free meal. And the hubby ordered a double cheeseburger. I had already anticipated a little wait..but actually our food came out nice and hot and in good time. And everything tasted great! With being short staffed they are doing an Awesome job! I've always been a Denny's breakfast fan. The Ultimate omelette always hits the spot with a a cup of black coffee and a glass of unsweetened ice tea. This Denny's was clean and we were quickly seated and our drinks came out quickly also. Our waitress was very nice. The only let down I had was that this Denny's only has biscuits and white or rye bread as the only bread choices, they have removed wheat bread as an option. It took awhile before our food was delivered, but it looked like there was only one person working in the kitchen. All four of our meals were hot and delicious. My sister ordered the salted caramel nana pancakes, damn were they awesome tasting. I would definitely order them if you love sweet pancakes. read more

Very hard to get to from northbound 71 you have to go off the highway and make a U-turn to go back into the truckstop that it's located in. Place was very short staffed and out of a lot of things. They had help wanted signs all over begging for people to come to work there. The service was slow but that's to be expected there was quite a few people there and only one waitress. I remember when Dennys actually had good service. Today it was total shit show. Waitresses bickering and arguing over who had to clean off a table. We had to find our own clean booth. Coffee delivered, but didn't ask if we need cream or anything in it. Waited 20 minutes for our waitress to show back up and take our order because she "was in the office with her boss". So far we've been here 40 minutes, I've been looking at our food up on the pass through for about 10 minutes. Wondering if it's ever going to get brought out. There are still tables that are covered dirty dishes and the waitresses still keep arguing about who is going to clean it. Not very pleased with our experience. I blame this on management who can't motivate their team. You have dirty tables, and a now a line of customers stacking up who can't be seated. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant when we arrived. Our waitress finally brought our meals out. Dirty tables just now starting to be cleaned. Waitress never came back to check on our food quality/correctness. There also a girl in the kitchen cooking without any kind of hair control device. (no net, not pulled back etc) This kind of thing has been the case here the past few times we've come here. I think we will frequent the Cracker Barrel down the street from now on. So when we checked out, our waitress got kinda pissed about the low tip. She said here, you can have this back. I don't need your rude tip and note. We're shortstaffed. Look folks, I usually leave a 20-25% tip for decent service. I understand being shortstaffed, but that is not an excuse to provide crap service to your customers. That's why the waitress who was actually making an effort for her customers got a tip from me. Even though she wasn't the one waiting on us. I left our waitress a $1 tip, but I went and tipped the other waitress who actually tried to provide customer service a $5 bill. read more

We muddled through and it was a lazy Saturday for us for shopping so it was okay. Short staffed, only two servers and the cook. The server, a younger lady, was doing everything so I couldn't fault her for not checking in, no refill on coffee etc. she was reasonable with getting my salad out first and bringing out food correct, hot and tasty the first time. Maybe if the older lady server would help out a bit more with everything besides just seating and her tables and doing her own thing it would be a little faster but who knows. read more

Ok, I know, it's at the flying-j but I have actually had very good truck stop food before. We decided to give it a shot. The menu looked good and we haven't been to a Denny's in forever so why not? Coffee was the typical good old fashioned strong truck stop coffee, you know, the kind Grandma made. This is good for me because she's gone now and I miss it. Black coffee, no cream or sugar. I would like to start out by saying our server Aleshya was great. The food was not. I had ordered the jr corn dogs for my grandson. Aleshya had to come back and say they were out so we changed to pancakes. I was still charged for the corn dogs which was higher. I ordered the country fried steak breakfast and found a very long hair in it. I took my plate up to the counter and they remade it. When I received my meal the second time it did not come with all of my food. At this point I was just ready to leave as my grandsons were finished eating. I have traveled throughout most of the country and I have patronized Dennys several times without any complaints. This recent experience was a two time failure. First experience my waitress Kristen C seemed nice but was overwhelmed or just not competent in her job. I sat at the counter instead of a table and order lemonade and a chicken quasadila. She took over thirty minutes to bring my chicken quasadila out with no apologies. I gave her a $1.00 tip. Second encounter this time I ordered for pick up and to my horror guess who comes to take my togo oder no other than Kristen C. I this time ordered another simple dish California club sandwich with fries. This time she had me pay didn't put my order in then left for the night. I placed my order with her at 8:29 Pm after waiting for over 30 min a guy who didn't state his title was able to put my order in and give it to me and he said "I'm sorry for the wait, I will talk to that waitress.
