I went here at like 10pm because it was the only thing open and we were so high off of life from the thrill ride that is the pickwick bowling alley. The waiter was crazy attentive and even humored my friend taking 20 mins to order something that was basically an avocado toast but pieced together from several different individual parts of the menu. The food was average dennys quality but JEEZ are those deals good! That biscuits and gravy off the value menu is the best bang for your buck since the mcdonalds mcchicken. Is it late at night? Although our server Melissa was a great waitress, she was alone on the floor and the service took a long time. I fault management for not having enough people on staff. It took so long to initially talk to us that we both ordered waters because I noticed everyone with coffee had empty mugs. I believe that being short staff also caused our food to be cold. Not a little cold, but cold as in they almost just pulled it out of a refrigerator, especially the vegetables. My breakfast food tasted worse than what you'd get at a hotel where the breakfast food was included. The eggs were bland and tasted like they'd been sitting there for a long time. Although the steak was initially cold, it was good. But that entire meal needed to be reheated and they threw it in a microwave, making the garlic bread inedible and hard as a rock. Overall a really bad experience as far as food goes. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because I've eaten there in the past and had a good burger. I've been here twice in the last couple of weeks because of appointments near here. The first visit, I went mid afternoon so it was pretty quiet when I arrived. I had the Belgian waffle combo which had bacon, eggs, and the waffle. I did order the eggs scrambled since most places do not know how to cook over medium eggs. The only thing for me was I wish the waffle was a little more crispy on the outside but it was good. The second visit, I think they were having a promotion because there was a wheel to spin and win prizes at the front. It was breakfast time so it was pretty busy. I went with the BYO Grand Slam, 2 orders of bacon (4 pieces), 2 eggs, and hash browns. I did order over medium eggs this time and they came out over easy. I did not spin the wheel but they gave me a flyer with coupons but they're not good until June. read more

This place isn't to bad me and my husband stopped in for lunch and surprisingly it wasn't to busy we got a table fast and when we ordered our food it came fast and was really good only problem was the waiter took forever to come check on us so we could get refills on our drinks and the seat I was in was really sticky. Management doesn't nothing at all when customers have screaming babies and kids just screaming as well as hearing customers cell phones ringtones very loudly each time they get a text message you will hear their cell phone ringtones over and over and over. None of the employees that works for Denny's located in burbank goes over to the customer with the cell phone ringtones to tell them to put it on mute or leave. The "Noise Level" of the customers is very loud at a talking level that is so loud that you can hear them blocks away from Dennys is very unprofessional management to be allowing this while you're eating. This is the worst Denny's I've ever been to and I've been going to Denny's all over the country and world my whole life. I came in to receive my birthday reward (a birthday slam) but the experience I had with the manager was horrendous. I've been coming to Denny's for my birthday for many many years and I've always had a great experience at every location but this experience made me never want to come back. I placed a togo order to pickup and came in and waited at the counter for a long period of time because no one was there. After waiting for awhile the manager came over without greeting me. (His name was Robert). Robert didn't say "hello" or "hi, how are you doing today"? Nothing like that, just "are you picking up"? I responded by greeting him and letting him know that yes I'm picking up and that I also have a birthday reward to use. Before even bothering to look at my reward he said the reward is for dine in only. I let him know that nowhere on the reward details does it mention that it HAS to be dine in only. (Outdoor dining had just reopened THAT day at this location but I assume since many places in the country were not open for so long Denny's didn't make it mandatory). Anyway, the manager Robert did not seem to care and repeated that it was for dine in only despite not bothering to look at the fine print AND they were about to close in about 15 minutes anyway. He then tried scanning the reward but for some reason he couldn't get it to work. He responded and said "it won't work the system isn't letting me honor it". So I stood there and asked "well what am I supposed to do? How do we fix this?" I didn't understand what the issue was. My reward had not been used and it definitely was not expired so what do I do? He didn't have an answer for me whatsoever, which made me feel like he just did not want to honor the reward for whatever reason and ALSO never once bothered wishing me a happy birthday. So I said "ok so that's it? I just have to leave empty handed and hungry?Even though it's my birthday and I've been coming to Denny's for my birthday most of my life? There's nothing you can do?" And he said "nope". Wow. Robert definitely needs to work on his customer service and become more knowledgeable when it comes to his company's rewards. Robert was rude, had zero knowledge about promotions/rewards, and was overall one of the worst managers I've ever come across. Instead of making me feel special on my birthday he treated me like I was a nuisance. A few days later I deceived to try again and went to the Denny's at 11377 burbank Blvd, North Hollywood, Ca 91601. I did the same thing...placed a togo order for my Birthday reward and went to pick it up. When I went inside the staff was incredibly friendly. Numerous people asked if I had been helped or needed anything, and everyone greeted me kindly! I was immediately impressed. The manager Martin helped me out. He honored my birthday reward with complete ease. No issues whatsoever AND he didn't say it HAD to be "dine in only". Would you look at that? Apparently it's NOT A REQUIREMENT. Interesting. Yulianna also helped me out and was very kind. This location was super busy....so busy there was a line of people waiting outside to be sat and every table was full. I'm not surprised though because the customer service at this location was no where near the awful customer service I experienced at the last location. I left HAPPY with my birthday reward and it was a FAST and EASY experience (despite them being super busy). This experience should've happened the first time with the other location but obviously it didn't. So just heads up...I would avoid the location on Alameda Blvd in Burbank, Ca because your experience won't be nearly as great as it will be at the North Hollywood location on burbank Blvd. What a difference it makes when people truly care, take pride in their job, and want to help the customer have a wonderful experience. It was pretty dead when we stopped by yesterday for an early dinner. We were seated fairly quick seeing as there were only 5 other people in there. I ordered from the 2,4,6,8 menu (Chicken steak skillet + all you can eat pancakes) while my boyfriend ordered the original cheeseburger & some kind of breakfast platter off of the same menu. The food arrived a few minutes later, but nothing looked fresh nor appealing. I was pretty much right as I started to eat my food. The pancakes didn't look fully cooked, the chicken steak was burnt.. I guess it's too much to ask that a restaurant knows the difference between over medium and sunny side up when breakfast is s big part of their menu and you're paying $10 for it My eggs were so undercooked that when I cut them open raw egg whites spilled out I sent them back since I specifically ordered over medium. I walked out after they served my breakfast. They gave me a tiny portion of grits. I asked why they didn't give me the regular size bowl and they said it would be $1.29 extra. I had to wait for the manager, and I asked him to show me in the menu that a grand slam breakfast comes with a half portion. (Psst, it doesn't) He thumbed through the menu, unable to show me, and then started some double talk about the restaurant business.... We ordered the Thanksgiving Day meal. It arrived promptly, but when we unpacked the order, we were missing the stuffing and we had like 4 pieces of garlic bread (which we did not order). We called to tell them this, the person who answered the phone took down some info, said they were going to give it the the manager and quickly hung up. We never heard anything back and never received either our stuffing or a refund. So, we had to go out and buy some Stove Top which delayed our Thanksgiving meal... I'm sure it was busy there on Thanksgiving, but if you can't handle customer service on a busy day much like you would handle it on a normal day, then maybe you shouldn't be open and/or offer a Thanksgiving Day Meal. This is Denny's so everyone knows the food is solid. However kudos for good Wifi without needing a password. And I am giving this Denny's 5 stars strictly because of the great service from who I believe probably was the manager but also was the host and server. This guy was great. I came in at 7am for breakfast. Very prompt, always smiling and friendly, back regularly for refills. Asked about needing additional condiments and even offered coffee refill to go without me asking. The tables were clean, the staff and was friendly and the restrooms are clean. The food was good, wait time was no lomg the silverware are placed inside a bag/cover not on the table. One of the better Denny's spots I've visited. This spot is clean and has plenty of parking spots. The service was fast and friendly with servers that have worked there for a long time. I like that because they make it feel more like home when they know the regulars. I'm a big fan of their bargain breakfast menu. A couple can eat for under $15 and it is good food. The last dozen or so menu items I've ordered have always been one of two items. The Ultimate Omelet or the Moons Over My Hammy. The wife usually gets the Grand Slam, over-easy & extra maple syrup to dip her sausage links into. But today, she orders the "Moons". I check out the "Hobbit" menu & though it seemed all good, the "creature of habit" gets the best of me & I order the Ultimate/hash browns/sourdough. It's my usual so it's really nothing new, but it's as good as all the other Denny's I've been to. The wife is half way through her second half of the Moon's sammy. "I'm stuffed!" she says as she musters up one last bite. "Want the rest?" before she could even finish that sentence, I already had it my hands. Here's where I give mad props to the Sunday a.m. CHEF. When I took that first bite of my wife's breakfast sandwich, my taste buds were overcome with joy. These eggs were like no other. It was fluffy, billowy, moist and just plain heavenly. I kid you not, prolly the most incredible eggs I've had in a Moons Over My Hammy to date. "These eggs are awesome!" I exclaimed. The wife: "RIGHT?!" This Denny's is a pure neighborhood joint. I've been here on several Sunday's since moving to the area & noticed each time, everyone KNEW everyone. The wait staff & even the bussers would have conversations with select customers like long time friends. Breakfast goers entering would wave over to serveral tables in the back & the staff would start pushing tables together. Pretty cool I'd say... And when we asked politely to please check on the status of our food, the response was rude. BEST CHOCOLATE SHAKE I'VE FOUND LOCALLY Ten out of ten times when I eat ice cream, it's chocolate. And nine of those ten times the dessert will be in the form of a chocolate shake - with whipped cream on top. I think we can all agree that the chocolate shakes offered by the burger chains are wretched creations. Often, they're just vanilla shakes with a miniscule squirt of chocolate syrup. (The worst example of this outrage in recent experience was at the Glendale Jack-in-the-Box on Glenoaks.) Until recently, the best shake I could find locally was at the BR training facility and store on South Victory Blvd. in Burbank - that was until I discovered the one made at this Denny's on Alameda in Burbank across the shopping plaza parking lot from Pavilions. This Denny's shake is served in the traditional soda fountain glass along with the steel mixing cup that, at least on my visits, contains ANOTHER FULL SERVING. The beverage is thick and gloppy with an intense chocolate flavor. And all this for only $3.99! (By comparison, the large shake at BR is six bucks plus change, which is still more than the Denny's treat plus generous tip.) My nutrition-conscious wife, upon hearing that this Denny's might be my new favorite place, just about gagged. But then, she doesn't drink chocolate shakes; she's into the abomination called "soy ice cream." read more
