Foxy's in Glendale is a great place to eat. It is older, but kept super clean and so comfortable. It is not just a place for breakfast, they have it all there. The service is super nice and you can tell that they are all working hard. The cooks never miss a beat making a great meal and they have a large menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We love their breakfast French toast and their pancakes are great. For lunch we often get a Mexican dish and they make great Mexican food. The menu for this is not huge, but all of it is good. We also love their steaks, burgers and all of their sandwiches. You really just can't go wrong here. Parking is in the mall across the street (avoid the mall, it is dumpy) and just walk across the street. They also have great desserts. We love their shacks. You will like this place. read more

Had no idea Foxy's has been around for so long! They have a pretty extensive menu compared to other diners. Unfortunately we were sat outside (probably because we were party of 6), would've appreciated the ambience inside the diner. Food was pretty yummy, ordered an assortment of french toast, BLT, to benedicts. Got busy pretty quickly, but service was still very attentive. They do have a small lot, but is often filled up, so we did have to find street parking around the corner. read more

One of the last great diners in the LA area. And one of the few family restaurants anywhere that serves great food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Usually a place like this excels in one mealtime specialty. And their healthy options are out of this world! Foxy's is almost always busy and the parking lot is crazy. They have a second lot behind the restaurant off of Elk Avenue and I highly recommend parking there instead of the Colorado street lot. My favorite menu items are: Breakfast- Power Breakfast Scramble. Lunch - Ahi Tuna Wrap Dinner - I order two "shareables" the Seared Ahi Tuna and the Avocado Wrap! Omelette had cheese inside, plenty of chicken and veggies, and the hash potatoes were really good. 5/5 for me. Just look at the photo. Coffee was decent and refills were fast. When I think of a diner, I think of bright lights, chrome, and tile. Foxy's is an old-timey restaurant that shows its age with a very dark interior and ornate fixtures. The menu is varied - breakfast, Mexican dishes, burgers, pasta with only pesto as the sauce choice... We ordered the house-made chips as an appetizer and burgers. This was an interesting diner. I liked its old school vibe. It probably hasn't changed much since it opened. And that's pretty cool. We came for breakfast. Service was attentive and quick. My wife and I shared the Eggs Benedict and our kid had the French Toast. The Eggs Benedict was good, but not great. The hash browns could have had more seasoning, but with some hot sauce it didn't matter. Our kid loved the French Toast. Overall, a pretty decent meal. Nice portions and quick service. Haven't been to Foxy's in years! (Used to be our go to for brunch/ breakfast all the time.) Their menu hasn't changed, just added some things. Coffee fresh and fast on the refills. Foxy's is a Glendale landmark and often has long wait times, which usually suggests a popular spot. It's conveniently located across from the Americana on Colorado Street and has plenty of old-school diner charm. I love the nostalgic atmosphere and all of the unique decorations throughout the restaurant. Unfortunately, the food has been a major disappointment. My husband and I have visited several times because we wanted to give Foxy's the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe we had just come on an off day. Sadly, after our third visit, we realized the experience was consistently disappointing. My husband ordered the Machaca omelette. The machaca was burnt to a crisp, extremely greasy, and served with cold tortillas. To make matters worse, the orange juice he ordered was forgotten. His plate wasn't even warm when it arrived, and he was both disappointed and put off by the meal. I ordered the Machaca scramble, and unfortunately, it wasn't much better. Like my husband's dish, it was cold and overly greasy. I was equally disappointed. As someone who loves classic diners and their unique character, I really wanted to enjoy Foxy's. The atmosphere is charming, but the food simply hasn't lived up to expectations during any of our visits. This is where you meet. It reminds me of a nicer, older Perkins. It's decently comfortable (although the booths are a bit tight and have seen better days). Everyone is friendly enough. And the menu is large and just about everything will be pretty good. Or good enough. This being southern California, there are plenty of Mexican inspired dishes for breakfast. And of course the more traditional dishes as well. My breakfast was a little cold but stilil tasty nonetheless. Nice free parking. Sat quickly but room was very cold (bring a sweater). Ordered chicken lettuce avicadi wrap. It arrived and i liked that the wrap was warm from the chicken. Usually wraps are cold. I like the atmosphere, good parking, the staff seemed friendly, the prices were fairly reasonable in this economy and the food we had was good. We were both very disappointed that their website clearly shows that they serve alcohol and we were told when we got there that they don't serve alcohol. Also, anyone who knows me knows I love fried calamari which their online menu clearly shows but in real life they don't serve that either. My friend asked our server why these were on the website but not really on their menu. I opened the website on my phone and showed her what we were talking about. The server said they used to have those things but has no idea why the website was never updated. That is false advertisement. We contemplated leaving and going someplace else, but decided to stay and have dinner. I feel like I'm at a Swiss chalet when I go to Foxy's. The servers are always stellar. They are attentive but they also do not hover. Whether sitting inside or out, it's always a great experience. I usually get huevos machaca for a brunch experience, but I've ordered lunch (chicken caesar wrap, salads, and always a biscuit to take home) and been pleased. They have the perfect diner coffee. I've gone with friends or family, but I've also gone alone a few times and just read the newspaper. I will continue returning. It's hard to find machaca! read more

I've only been once but can tell this place is a classic and probably frequented over and over by many of the locals. Anyway, we were in Glendale and. Wanted breakfast for lunch and found Foxy's. Something weird was going on in the parking lot with lots of spaces blocked, but happened to find a spot back in the corner. Free parking in Glendale is always great! Waited a bit for a table but once seated, service was very quick and friendly. Ordered the steak and eggs as well as the croissant French toast which was a first for us. Med rare Steak, over easy eggs and well done hash browns were all the right temp which is rare. French toast was good, but the syrup was in the small take out containers which threw us off. Same brand name, so not a big deal but I guess we were expecting the ubiquitous syrup pourer :) I also give the waitress credit for her honesty. I love home made corned beef and hash when available, but when I asked she was honest and said it was from a can. Most places do the same, so bit knocking them at all, but not something I'll order when I have the same can at home :). read more

Was in the Glendale area and decided to try Foxy's for breakfast with my family. Very retro interior A-frame. Think red velvet color scheme with lots of wood and gold accents. And a fire place to set the mood. Nevertheless it was a cool experience. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was good. Simple and straightforward. We had a picky eater among us and he managed to eat all his food. That speaks volume within our family. Pancakes when a little darker than accustomed to but they were light, airy and had a good texture. Served with whipped butter and syrup on the side. The eggs were all cooked perfectly. Hash browns were crispy on top and cooked just enough within. Bacon was cooked a little too much for my liking and I'd consider it dry and crisp. It didn't seem to bother my son at all. I'd recommend the eggs cordon bleu but the cordon bleu itself was half cooked perfectly and the other half fried too long which made it dry and basically hard. The half that was cooked properly though was delicious on its own and especially good with the poached egg and hollandaise sauce. Brownish carpet? Yes. Soft lighting? Indeed. Everything is seventies, that is, besides the food and service. Went here with a large group and the staff was very accommodating and attentive! I got a hot chocolate which was yummy! The eggs were cooked well, the bacon was bacon lol mostly there to give me more protein and served its purpose. I really enjoyed the croissant French toast! Had the lighter texture that you're looking for but didn't compromise on taste. Pretty decent for diner fare! The inside is dark but I enjoyed the retro almost tudor style building. Pretty cool. After a long, exhausting four-hour dialysis session, my friend Maria picked me up because I had a doctor's appointment immediately afterward. I was starving and had been craving a tostada salad for years, so we stopped at Foxy's, a place I'd been going to off and on since the 80s. Both Maria and I ordered the chicken tostada salad, and what arrived was incredibly disappointing.!!! The chicken was bland, tasted like frozen chicken with fake grill marks, and there was barely any of it. The salad itself was mostly lettuce and baby spinach. Seriously, who the hell puts baby spinach in a tostada salad? We were so dissatisfied with those salads that we told the waitress to take them back because we didn't want them. The waitress, who was also the cashier, suggested that we order something else instead. Maria ordered a cheeseburger that came with fries. Since she used to come to Foxy's about 20 years ago when her kids were in junior high, and because she knows I like carne asada burritos, she suggested I order the carne asada burrito because she remembered them being huge back then. Well, not anymore. The burrito was much smaller than what she remembered, and after I took literally one tiny bite just to taste it, I immediately noticed bell peppers in it. Wtf? What kind of idiot puts bell peppers in a carne asada burrito? I asked Maria if they used to put bell peppers in them years ago, and she immediately said no. Maria tasted it herself and was disgusted by it too. When I say I barely touched it, I mean it. I literally took one small taste, Maria barely had a bite herself, and there was still approximately seven-eighths of that burrito left sitting on the plate. To top it all off, the burrito also came with stale-ass tortilla chips! Since I couldn't stomach the salad or the burrito, I ended up eating only half of Maria's dry, tasteless, cardboard-like cheeseburger and exactly four fries because by that point I was disgusted with the entire meal. The final bill came to $41.90. I'm on a fixed income. Paying $41.90 for half of a dry cheeseburger, four fries, and food we barely touched because it was so bad is frustrating enough. Being asked whether I wanted to take home a box for a burrito that still had seven-eighths left felt downright insulting. No thank you. I don't take home food that I thought was crap! When I was paying, I told the waitress/cashier, "I wish I could speak to your manager." She told me he was right there, but I explained that I was already going to be late for my doctor's appointment and didn't want to have to reschedule until next week. I spend three days a week at dialysis and use my other days for specialist appointments and medical visits, so my schedule is already difficult enough to manage. I told her I would call the manager when I got home. When I finally spoke with the manager later, he asked me, "Why didn't you tell them you didn't like it? They would have taken it off the bill." That response left me confused because the waitress already knew exactly how dissatisfied we were from the moment the salads went back untouched. She knew we rejected them. She knew we ordered replacement meals because of them. She knew I barely touched the burrito. She knew Maria disliked it too. She knew there was almost an entire burrito left sitting on the plate. If taking it off the bill was an option, why wasn't that offered at the time? Why wasn't there an offer for a discount, partial credit, or some kind of accommodation? At the very least, after watching customers send back meals and barely touch the replacements, comping a dessert to go would have been a nice gesture. It's been at least 35 years since I was inside this place, and I swear nothing has changed! Well, except for mayby the staff. But, all was very good here. Super nice, excellent service, and the food is good. Also, it's a really good value! I had the Mexican Tuna Melt, and while it was tasty, it was a little messy. I love love love Foxys since the day I was born 60 years ago with the most amazing menu with something for everyone cooked to perfection, but today was a little different , I took my wife and my daughter and her best friend who were visiting from NY the gentleman who seated us who I have seen numerous times was just plain rude and was bothered that he had to clean a table for us to eat on the patio ( even tho there are 30 tables) , the entire place was oozing grime from the front door, light fixtures, glass mirrors, tile and the bathroom's did not flush with the urinals over flowing. On a positive note the food was delicious and very large portions but I don't think I will be back unless its cleaned and a basic remodel. Signed So bummed after 60 years read more

A LOT has changed since I wrote this review over 7 years ago, as has the quality of the food and beverages here sadly. My partner and I (not the same person mentioned in the original post) came here today to enjoy a late lunch. We've come here many times since my initial review and have always enjoyed our meals. We have a lot of fond memories of this place, I've even brought friends here as well because I spoke highly of it. I ordered the huevos machaca and a regular coffee. My partner ordered the chicken quesadilla and a latte. When they brought the latte out, the cup was filthy (smelled like bacon and had old lipstick on the rim) and tasted terrible. We asked for the drink to be remade in a clean cup and with different milk. It was, but it was like the La Croix of lattes- just purely milky with the lightest essence of espresso. My partner was quite disappointed with his meal and obviously the latte. His quesadilla came with a side of fruit and I swear they picked the worst fruit in each batch. The strawberries were shriveled and dry, and the watermelon was very soggy. The huevos machaca I ordered was incredibly underwhelming from what I remember. The coffee was whatever- you typically know what to expect when ordering a drip coffee at a diner, you know? The waiter offered us boxes but we declined; there was nothing redeeming about our meals. I used to love this place, but today made me question coming back. The menu prices have also increased (which sucks but I understand because it's expensive to exist in 2026). Foxy's is a charming Glendale diner that's been around since 1964. I love the A-frame architecture, distinctive triangular stone-and-brass fireplaces, and personal toasters at the table. They also were playing great music that had us dancing in our seats. The menu is extensive, portions were pretty large, service was good, and the food was good overall. I had the New York steam which came with steamed broccoli and a nice scoop of mashed potatoes. The steak had a bit of a charred flavor on the outside and was tender but needed some salt and steak sauce. My kid enjoyed the short stack immensely. The pancakes were nice and fluffy! When we arrived with my kids yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised that many of the staff is the same since I can remember coming here as a kid. The service was great as usual. Back in the 90s, this was the place to go, but the new management has completely destroyed the public trust this neighborhood staple built over decades. ​I ordered a New York strip, but they served a completely different, lower-quality round cut with zero fat cap. Passing off a cheaper cut of meat while charging premium prices is a total bait-and-switch. In fact, when I pointed it out, the host actually walked over to my table, looked right at the meat, and completely agreed with me that it was not a New York strip and apologized. ​To make matters worse, the dining setup was incredibly frustrating. The knife handle was old, scuffed, and heavily punctured, and the fork was of such cheap quality that it literally bent when I went to cut into the meat. I didn't even take a single bite of the steak. ​On top of all that, the dark wood table was so degraded and grimey that my arms stuck to it every time I put my elbows down. ​If you are going to run a classic spot, you can't cut corners in the kitchen and the dining room.
