On the way back from Baja, my buddies and I stopped by here for a bite. We were a bit pooped, and decided on recharging with caffeine. I was famished, so I went with the "Build Your Own Slam" (see photos). The coffee was smooth and delicious, and the food was actually prepared well. The staff was nice and attentive. The place is located in a not too bad part of town, Chula Vista. They are adjacent to a pretty good hotel that I've stayed in before. That time, this Denny's provided good service as well. I would've gave three starts ....but They always mess up our order somehow the service is sometimes so lazy mainly if you tip them thats always when they get so lazy! I like there food but theres been one to many times they messed up our orders and literally one time burned our chicken and had to wait 20 minutes for non burned chicken, the burgers are also super greasy and will upset your stomach we always order from this place if its our only option there service could be better besides that food is good and so are some of the staff and one time me and my family had to wait 1 hour for a smoothie witch is so ridiculous and sometimes its like where do you even go to pick up your food because both areas are locked and then you have to go through this area that looks so unprofessional and unsafe i reccomned but only if you want slow half done service. read more

Wanted to order to eggs, hash browns, and French toast. Although the one taking my order seemed helpful, I later realized that I could have just ordered the super slam and substituted the pancakes for French toast and would have cost me half the price. I was later told that I couldn't change my order because I had already been charged. The food was good and the server was nice, so I'm not upset. However the policy needs to change. I don't know of any businesses that can't issue a refund. Especially if the person behind the counter admits to have made a mistake. I guess it's my fault for not reading the menu. (Not really). Anyway, it's not a deal breaker, so it's not like I won't be coming back. I'll just have to leave the creative ordering to myself instead of relying on their input. I've been here with friends and family. Mostly because we this is our local Denny's. First couple of times it was great and the food was pretty up to par as well. Today is September 7th, 2021: I came here with a friend this time, because we like to eat here before school. The thing is we got a bad vibe from our server right away. As we were ordering she was practically rushing us to order and overall just being rude. Slams our food down basically when she was giving it to us. Attitude was not great at all from her. We were not even done eating our meal yet. She didn't ask for refill of water or anything. (Server Name: Beatriz). This will probably be the last time I frequent here. It just overall sucked. On the other hand, the hostesses were great. Kept communicating with their servers as well as kept watch of the floor. I don't know why you wouldn't have them as servers. Their Names George or Jorge and Quan or Juan. Sorry to butcher their names, but they were more helpful than our server. I don't know if she thought we were too young to be taken seriously, but that should be no way to treat any paying customer. Very disappointed in this place. I have been to many Denny's over the years and this is the worst one yet! My wife and I went there for breakfast a few weeks ago and were not thrilled with the drinks or the food. She was served hot chocolate in a cup that looked like it had overflowed but no one bothered to wipe it. I was served what appeared to be frozen orange juice that wasn't mixed properly. What happened to the Minute Maid that you guys used to have??? Food was okay but tasted like someone put it together real quick. Went to this Denny's for some pancakes and coffee and was treated to a wonderful experience thanks to the Hostess Riza. She greeted me with a smile and sat me quickly. After not even a few minutes she also became my server. He service made my time there such a delight. Would definitely recommend coming thru in the mornings she is working. The first time we ordered(through uber eats, last week) they forgot our toast and extra syrup. We weren't to be upset BC we understand mistakes This is the second time a week later I decided to pick it. They told me they were going to put the order under Robyn but they put it under my boy friends name so I ended up sitting there for 20min on top of the 30 min they said it would take to prepare. When I got home they forgot my salad yet packed dressing. When I tried to call back NO ONE answered. I called several more times and still no answer so I had to drive back. Had breakfast here this morning. I had the super bird sandwich. My dad had the sizzling skillet. This is one skillet is always good as long as they don't over cook it. The super bird would be much better with cheddar cheese instead of American cheese American cheese sucks I wouldn't put that on my worst friends sandwich. I consider myself a dedicated Denny's darling, as I love eating at this establishment to fulfill my hunger, especially during the later hours of the night. However, my night at this Denny's location was unfortunately a tragic experience. It started with a terrible first impression of our server Kassandra R. scolding us in front of half the diner about how we were not allowed to come up to a booth to sit in a condescending tone, even though her colleague at the front instructed us to go to that specific booth and permitted us to seat ourselves there. Moreover, even after clarifying with Kassandra, she did not apologize for her comments directed toward us. Things only got worse from here. The dessert we ordered came first before our appetizers and entrees. I don't know about you guys, but I usually save dessert for last. My beloved cousin was not being helped when he made clear signs he needed more water; additionally, the mango smoothie he ordered came severely late to the point that the shake was his saving grace from choking on his food as he had no beverage to consume at the moment. The zesty nachos were flaccid, the brisket sandwich took 50 chews to complete one bite, and the Beetlejuicy burgers did not make me feel like Beetlejuice was inside my mouth! In addition, the server forgot to charge us for our desserts so it was left off the total. She doesn't even know how to properly record meals! I wish Mr.Denny himself could step out and hug me because tonight truly did not make me and my cousins feel like his darlings, but rather left us feeling disgusted. So I haven't been to a Denny's for about 8-10 years now. Due to a really bad experience at a Long Beach location. The only reason why i decided to finally come was my wife was hungry and it was late night. Now down to the food. Our waitress was Rachel, she was awesome and very quick. I had a water to drink, and it tasted worse then the water from my faucet at home. Lol Totally not filtered at all. I had a avocado bacon burger which was actually pretty good. It came with seasoned fries, which were also really good. My wife had the super bird sandwich, which she also enjoyed. All I can say is STAY AWAY from drinking their nasty water. Lol read more

Place used to be a reliable quick dinner pickup to go after work...but the last two times we've gone the food has sucked. Our fries were stale and the chicken was super dry, also they forgot to put cheese on sandwiches. Normally don't complain but two times on messing up simple stuff is really lame. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE HORRIBLE ATTITUDE OF EMPLOYEES We went in last night around 11 pm. It wasn't busy.. see pictures . We say and waited for our waitress. Then the hosts sat more party's. We sat there and watched the other waitresses take the people's, drinks orders that came after us. Mind you are trying not to sound entitled but for reals, then right before they get send our waitress comes out of nowhere, tired and confused, takes our order in a little memo book, complaining that she got more tables. Moving forward, we asked for our coffee etc.... well the 2 partys that came after us got send their food before we even got our drinks. Then here comes the salad, no napkins. I asked another girl at the counter for napkins. Her good the waiting game, then the waited brings one plate and gets my sample wrong. When I inform her she said did you search the plate right and pointed for me to move the food around to verify something was wrong. Then waiting for my husband food, she brings 15 minutes later again but he's missing his steak. We inside about the steak mind you it took about 5 minutes to get her attention and she has an attitude. Again we ask when will the steak be coming Bensimon he's alkyd fine with the eggs and hashbrowns and she said let me go tell the cook...I had her clearly ask for the steak as if it was the first time he cook heard of it. I sent to the cover and asked somone to help my waitress. She finally comes with the good and we asked for syrup for the Pancakes from the first order. I asked her why did she send us in increments instead of all at one time-- she said Neenah we never told her thank you for anything. I'm like but you give horrible service with horrible attitude and we have said thank you. Bottom line the manager Ashley covered for her behalf and told us to leave out they'd call the police. We try to come here for breakfast at least once a week, but it is always packed. No parking they share the parking lot with a hotel. Today we were able to find parking very easily. But we're disappointed in the food. My guest went to open the menu and it was so sticky inside and out that he had trouble peeling the pages apart. I shared mine with him. I ordered the crepes was flavorful but very soggy. It came my sunny side eggs, hash browns, and bacon. All very good. My guest ordered the All American and a side of Biscuits and gravy. All good and hot but the biscuits had sliced sausage which was not good. Also was a very small portion the gravy barely covering the biscuits. At one point the busboy came by and almost took his plate he thought he was finished. He joked and said that is the way I got it I haven't even eaten any yet. Fantastic service. Rocio provided a welcoming space and was very diligent. I decided to order the chicken addiction bowl which included broccoli, mushrooms, grilled chicken breast, whole grain rice, topped with alfredo sauce, and a side of dinner bread. Everything tasted amazing, especially the alfredo sauce which was so creamy and rich. As for the broccoli and the mushrooms, both tasted so fresh and earthy.
