This is the old C180 (sp?) in IB. Looked like they were maybe remodeling inside so we had to sit outside which was great. We went for our 30th Anniversary lunch. Good was great, service was good but it took a while for us to finally get seated and order taken. I only saw two guys serving and when we first got there, they weren't that many people there but they started getting busier as we were there so I think they were understaffed. I have no hate to this place but I wasn't blown away with them. I will say I prefer the old Sea 180 that used to be here. Located in Imperial Beach, Toasted is the new restaurant that took over the old Sea 180 in the main resort in IB. Don't get me wrong, it was yummy, but it was mediocre as well. One thing I do like is that their patio is dog friendly. Parking is relatively decent, depending on what time of day you go. We went for brunch, on a weekday, so it wasn't bad at all. We got a spot in the park right next to the hotel, which had a ramp connecting up to the patio of the restaurant. They do offer valet or you can find street parking in the neighborhoods nearby. I can say that later in the day, parking is significantly harder. The restaurant itself was clean. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Patio had plenty of seats with a great view. Service was decent. Our waitress was nice but we had to ask numerous times for my Uncle's Orange Juice. And there were periods of time where we felt like she had just disappeared. Food was okay. I had the chilaquiles and to me, I thought it was a little too spicy. I've had chilaquiles before and they haven't been that spicy. Portion size though was pretty good. My boyfriend had the crispy chicken and pancakes and we liked that one better. It had a good kick to it and the crispness was pretty good even with syrup on it. Stopped by for brunch and this location is in such a cute hotel, and it was super easy to find with all the signage on the outside of the hotel. I order the chilaquiles, my food arrived at room temperature, I'm assuming because they made it prior to the entree being ready or it was just sitting there. The flavor of the chilaquiles was good, and it looked like a decent portion size, however I wish they did add a bit more barbacoa. I got the white peach bellini, I felt it could've used a bit more of the white peach. While you can see the color difference, I definitely tasted more Prosecco, which some people prefer. Lavender lady: I definitely recommend mixing it up when you drink it, as most of good flavor is at the bottom. We were hoping to try the kanafee, but they had just put in to the oven to cook around 12 and said it wouldn't be ready until an hour later. Somethings to work on here, but the food was good and we definitely will be back to Toasted, but probably will try the La Mesa location next unless we are looking for the ocean view! I had a party of 4 and it took us 20-30 mins to be seated even though they weren't as busy. There were other groups getting sat before us, even though our server told us to come back. it was just really disappointing. The menus had a good variety, Mexican style breakfast to turkey wraps. I ordered sliders and they were not bad, but I've had better! My friends had the chilaquiles and they were pretty good! They usually go for green salsa, and they were not disappointed! To apologize for the wait, the server gave us free dessert, which was super nice. I totally understand the situation he was in, but also seeing other customers get sat before us was a shame. Loved the food! Service was excellent. Prices were a bit high on the food for lunch and the price on the wine was ridiculous ($19 for a 9oz glass of wine). We will definitely be back but will ask what the corking fee is and possibly bring our own bottle. I'd love to talk to Sami or whoever it is deciding the pricing. Marketing should check out the Happy Hour at the Brig (best happy hour in town) to ensure Toasted can be successful. Granted Toasted has one of the best views but cmon $19 for a glass of wine? That's the price of some 9oz pours at Morton's. Possibly the worst food and service I've ever had. Definitely a lovey view, but they didn't have anything to do with the ocean being beautiful. First problem: the menu was NOT as depicted on the website - just a very few items that were Dennys-level boring and, sadly, no Benedicts at all. I waited a long time to get someone to take me drink order (just coffee and water, nothing fancy), I got the water and the cream/sweetner for my coffee, but no coffee - I eventually asked a bus person for my coffee. I ordered my eggs "scrambled easy" and they were the hardest scrambled eggs I've ever had - inedible. The Parmesan truffle potatos were cut up frozen steak fries with cheap shaker parm sprinkled on top and were also inedible. The only thing I somewhat enjoyed was the toast. I asked for some jam for my toast and it didn't come until I was sufficiently done, having eaten basically nothing on my plate except a few bites of the toast. I asked for a refill of coffee and was, again, forgotten about. I asked the bus person (again) for a refill, which was so cold that it could have been iced coffee. I finally gave up and am headed to Starbucks for some souv vide egg bites. read more

I used to come here all the time when it was SEA180, I moved away and just recently returned. The view and atmosphere is still as amazing as before. Now the service was the worst I've had in an extremely long time. We were seated and then not talked to for over 20 minutes. Never brought any water or even condiments to our table our entire visit. When our waiter finally came he didn't even apologize about the long wait. The issue I have is there was barely anyone even eating there when we arrived. When our food came we asked for a straw and the waitress said she didn't have one in a manner as if that was going to be the end of it, I continued to look at her until she said she will go get one. No one stopped and checked if we needed anything else or if our order was good the entire time. I then had to ask for the bill as we just sat there continuously passed by the workers multiple times. The table next to us had plates and glasses on it the entire time we were there, no one even attempted to clear and clean it. The staff didn't seem to care about their jobs and were bothered we needed things. Be polite to the customers and apologize when you make a mistake, a waiter/waitress could at least carry a straw in their apron to offer when they bring the drinks to the table. The food on the other hand did come out fast and was very delicious. Overall it's sad that this prime location and good food can be diminished by poor service. Let me tell you, you CANNOT go wrong with this spot. Found it on Apple Maps, got confused because it was in the hotel, but was so pleasantly surprised. Rodrigo, the manager, was so friendly, sat us immediately, and brought us water within seconds, and a mimosa flight within minutes of ordering it. We had a beach front table, I did end up moving cuz I got a little too hot, they had no issues whatsoever and told us to make ourselves at home. I had the Lobster Toast, added a poached egg and it was AMAZING. Like 10/10. Lobsters was cooked perfectly. My wife has the Brisket Sandwich, added grilled onions. She loved absolutely loved it! She's from the south and knows good brisket. We added on the Messy Sundae, it was MARVELOUS and so big! After the meal, Rodrigo came and checked in on us to make sure everything was good! It was, my only complaint was that he didn't warn us HOW GOOD the food would be. We live 25 minutes away, but we will definitely be returning often to try the rest of the menu. read more

Awesome breakfast! We came twice in 2 days for breakfast. I had the "plain Jane" eggs and linguica sausage fruit and toast. It was excellent both times. David was amazing! Toasted has big shoes to fill. This place was recently Sea 180 and the location is right on the sand so I had high expectations walking in. I was definitely let down. First the menus, cheap tables & uncomfortable/cheap lawn-ish chairs give off a local cafe vibe, which I wasn't expecting. My margarita came out in a pint glass and my grandmas coffee came out in the standard mugs used for hotel that this restaurant is attached to. The silverware was laid on a standard fast food thin paper napkin. The location is gorgeous, we watched the sunset and it was beautiful. Right on the sand just a walk away from the water, this is definitely where the money is spent. The service was good, drinks were good and food was good. I think it just throws me off how expensive the food and drinks are and how cheap the presentation is. Not sure if I'll be back. They're doing construction so hopefully they'll revamp when that's completed. read more

My server Erica was great. Food was just okay. Got the Santa Fe scramble which I thought would be spicy. Nope. Not at all. Cold on the outside, warm on the inside. Liked the potatoes. Got a Bloody Mary that was very thick and the "stuffed" olive wasn't stuffed with anything. Just a deep dark hole. I visited Toasted at Pier South Resort for dinner and settled on their NY pizza, and boy, did I get more than I bargained for. The pizza was a sight for sore eyes, but once I dug in, I realized this crust was more 'moo-dle' than middle - soggy as a cow's tongue after a rain shower. And the salt? I swear they must've mistaken their pizza for a cow's salt lick. If you're a bovine looking for your next mineral fix, this is the place for you. But be warned, you'll be moo-ving straight to the bar for a drink after each bite just to quench the thirst this salty beast induces. Udderly not what I expected from a NY pizza. They are absolutely amazing great flavor. The shrimp is grilled. It's delicious. The crispy chicken and pancakes could have gone without the spicy syrup. I think that's definitely something that could be on the side. It was not a bad meal. I was just not a fan of the syrup. The breakfast potatoes that we got definitely had a weird consistency to them. So sorry that Sea180 is gone. Toasted is absolutely no comparison to the dining experience that Sea180 always offered. The ocean location is the only thing going for this now. Upon entering the host stand the guy told us to wait as he ran off. We were the only ones waiting to be seated and it took him over 5 minutes to come back to us. What used to be a beautiful deck seemed haphazard from the past with a jumble of different pieces of furniture everywhere. We then had to wait about 15 min for a server, as were other patrons who were waiting to pay. Besides the very slow service, the food was definitely sub par. The regular benny had some hollandaise sauce that was an odd color and came from a can or industrial packet mix. The truffle potatoes were not appealing either. It's hard to find things to order that aren't enormous carb bombs. Truly missing what used to be. Sad. read more

Sea180 was my go-to spot when I wanted to feel like I was on vacation. The patio seating and ease of valet parking was unmatched in South Bay. The staff and management was incredible. My family and I decided to give Toasted a go! I first tried making a reservation online for Sunday brunch. No times were available for a party of two and I tried 48 hours in advance. No worries, we instead tried Barbusa in Little Italy-phenomenal Italian. The weather has been beautiful, so I again tried to make a dinner reservation online at Toasted. My preferred time wasn't available, but nevertheless, we selected a later time. Imagine my surprise when we walked in to a dead restaurant. We were invited to choose any table we wanted.... Think there MIGHT have been customers at three other tables? We selected a table and Carlos promptly greeted us. After the views, Carlos was the highlight of the evening. He provided excellent service. We ordered four appetizers: the octopus, mini burgers, garlic cheese bread, and truffle fries. The octopus was a creative dish and probably my favorite bite of the night. The beef in the mini burgers was delicious-I can't comment on the buns. My dirty martini was good. I believe hand stuffed blue cheese olives would have made it great. In fact little upgrades like Luxardo Cherries instead of maraschino would help elevate their cocktails. If we would have stopped ordering food at this point, I would have walked away hopeful. Sadly, after entrees arrived, I can say, mistakes were made. Salmon and Brussel sprouts tasted like they were cooked in an air fryer for 15 minutes too long. The sea bass tasted like it was cooked from frozen. The dish was overly acidic-capers and straight lemon juice... My husband had to send his short rib back. It was cold. When the plate was returned, it was still cold. My son said his chicken sandwich was, eh? We all joked about stopping at Lolita's on the way home. A few thoughts: making a reservation should be easier and realistic -make the restaurant available on OpenTable. Post the menu on your website. I could not find the dinner menu anywhere. Hire a cleaning crew or train employees to clean. The inside tables and floors were dirty-not dingy old, they clearly had not been vacuumed and table cloths had not been changed. My overall impression? I'm sad. It feels like the restaurant is missing someone, anyone, to care. Care about your staff, care about the food, care about the customers that want to be loyal. Yes, I'm still rating my experience 3 stars because I love the South Bay location. Would I come back? For cocktails yes. read more

However, this place advertises its view of the ocean and that open patio area where one would enjoy the view is closed for renovation. No where does it mention that but on the door leading to the outdoor seating area. My wife brought us here for the view so to say that she was disappointed is an understatement. My husband and I came right when they took over from Sea180 and they had a very limited menu and it was only a few people being served. I can honestly say that the beach view is priceless and after the construction is finished, I know this will be our go to spot for brunch and mimosas! They had a nice menu with so much variety. I had the fried chicken Benedict and my husband had the shrimp and grits. They could have put more than 4 small shrimp in there but overall my husband enjoyed it. The Benedict was flavorful too! Please add some Chilulla or Tapatio to the available hot sauce options. Overall, we recommend this spot to eat. read more

**Terrible Experience - Don't Waste Your Money!** We had an awful experience at Toasted Imperial Beach. It took 39 minutes to get our food, and when it finally arrived, everything was cold. The portions were ridiculously small for the price, and the quality was just as bad. I ordered "The Wagyu Burger" with fries, and the patty was the size of a Jimmy Dean sausage -- cold, of course, as were the fries. My wife's grilled chicken breast was literally burnt, and my son's lamb chops were tiny and cold. My daughter's chicken sandwich and fries were also cold. To top it off, the servers never checked on us for drink refills. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Head across the street for some tacos at Mike Hess instead. Toasted is garbage!!! read more

Im rating this place a two only because I didn't get to actually try the food but their location is prime so for the view, I'm giving them an extra star. The service is just not there. I arrived, was not greeted, and stood there waiting to be acknowledged for about 10 minutes. When we were finally approached, we were sat and then left at our table for about 15 minutes without anyone returning to ask for drinks or even set the table with napkins or silverware. Service: The service was very professional. Our server, I forgot her name, but she was French, was one off the best servers we have had this year. She gave her recommendation and shared her thoughts on items that we valued a lot. Food: Food was amazing . I had the Classic French Omelette, it was creamy, hot, and delicious along with toasted sourdough bread, and a Caesar side salad. For dessert we shared the Messy Sundae that was over the top to round out a great meal. For drinks we had the China Mist Ice Tea, which is one of the best that I've ever had.
