Came here with my family a few weeks ago and we all left satisfied with warm, full tummies. Our waiter was friendly and attentive without hovering, and everything we ordered was yummy. I ordered the Moons Over My Hammy (kind of a must, in my opinion) and it was exactly what I was looking for. Grand slam which was really intense. I am having trouble. Breathing as I type this. I put the onion rings inside it and almost blacked out. Our waiter was wearing a cool dominatrix style pleather smock/apron. We were seated near the back kitchen area which provided an excellent view of the behind the scenes action at Denny's. We come to this Denny's often for breakfast/brunch. Service and food is *usually* good. We have a few favorite waitresses... that's how much we come here. Our favorite waitresses make sure we have everything we need, make sure my coffee is topped off & brings me more cream when she gives me more coffee, is patient with my kids who like to order for themselves, & doesn't forget to bring me parts of my meal i.e. my toast... There are a few inattentive waitresses that we have learned to avoid.... I hate going to a diner/restaurant that is not busy and waiting more than 15 minutes for my drink order to be taken. Overall, if you get a good waitress, you should have a good experience here. Breakfast foods are always cooked how you like it. Panckake puppies are delicious! Seasonal pancake or french toast is unique and delicious! Burgers are ok, nothing spectacular... but it's not a burger joint. Price is great for families or anyone who doesn't want to break the bank just to eat out! There's always parking, rarely a wait, & and its in a convenient location. Myeh, it's Denny's. How good can it be? Actually, is actually pretty good, considering the circumstances. I went on a Sunday morning at about 10AM and expected the joint to be mauled... remarkably, it wasn't. There was space for me at the counter, and by the looks of things, there was only a 10 minute wait for parties that required a table. Not bad for this particularly busy time of the week for Denny's and Denn-oid eating establishments. Food came quick, properly prepared, and it was cheap as hell. What more do you want? ...well, you'd want a lot more, but you'd be out of your mind to look for it at Dennys ;). read more

Denny's can do so much better. They have what many other dinners don't have, and that is their reputation, but I am afraid that it is slowly going down the hill... This Denny's is not the greatest, and maybe I have too much expectations from Denny's, but I remember that this is the place where is used to have the best brunches I ever had. The waitress was very nice, professional and friendly, but it is not her fault that the kitchen can't tell the difference between Medium and Well done. Just picked up an order from here via online ordering. I asked for extra syrup, utensils ( although that should be a given) and paid for an orange juice and received none of it. The food is good, just wish I had utensils to eat it with, syrup, and my orange juice that I paid for. Was also treated very rudely by the waitstaff because I got there 30 seconds before the food was ready. She told me to "wait over there" and kept looking at me to make me wait for the food. The burgers are decent as is the chicken fired steak. The menu is not the old Denny's menu that I remember. It is now very much breakfast food items oriented. The only issue with our visit was the very warm temperature in the restaurant. It was uncomfortable. We also had two waitresses serving us, which is not a plus. My wife stopped here today with her mother because her mom likes the place. Unfortunately, despite being told to hold all seasonings (food sensitivity), both the side order of fries and mozzarella sticks came covered in salt and pepper. Wait time for a couple of appetizers and a milkshake was more than it should have been too. You'd think that in nearly 4 years, a restaurant could get it's act together. Ok so we went to 2 different Denny's 2 nites in a Row. This Denny's, is not as delicious as the brand new Dennys in Waterbury.Buy, I was really impressed with Waterbury Denny's! Not here, not at all! we had the hush puppy pancakes raspberry flavor and they were fried until oblivion if they sat for a minute from when they hit the table they turned into stone! Medusa never came to Denny's so that shouldn't have happened! The burger was so greasy that the manager saw my struggle to try and dry the bun off with napkins he asked the kitchen crew to warm me a new bun! That helped some! I don't see this Denny's taking pride in how they cook as in comparison to the one in Waterbury! Maybe it's bc they didn't have many customers the day we went! Idk I was totally disappointed I gave it 3 stars bc of the service just know it's a weak 3 stars! I'm sure the waitress could see those hush puppies were killed in the fryer! The fries were also fried hard. There's a difference with crispy versus hard! These were hard! The manager comped our hard pancake hush puppies when we went to pay! I appreciated that! This is a great location. The staff are always friendly and attentive to me and my daughter. I love their Brooklyn Spaghetti! We had a great waitress and she quickly refilled beverages and checked on us throughout our visit. They offer a variety of menu options. My daughter has multiple food allergies but she can eat pretty hearty off of the menu! Ask for Liz she is an awesome waitress. read more

Went in for dinner tonight with my fiancee. So many things wrong that we will never be returning. They served us pancake puppies with no cinnamon sugar or syrup. When we sent them back they sprinkled it on top of the half bitten ones we sent back. The manager came over to explain that there are 2 kinds, original and some pineapple ones and since they didn't know what we wanted, that's what we got. Then dinner comes and it was missing tons of items and portions of the order were wrong all together. Then, the bill was wrong. I would have complained further to the manager, except that he fixed the bill and rang us up all without making eye contact. He never apologized for any of the many shortcomings, but he did make excuses. Terrible service. Terrible management. Definitely not returning. read more

Came here on Veterans day after some travel to New York. It was my first experience at a Denny's and it was pretty good. I'll start off with the one issue that I had. Came there at 2:00 am Sunday morning. The hostess seated us right away, and the waitress who was very friendly took our drink (OJ) orders very quickly. In fact, while she was doing this, the manager, I am guessing, asked us if our waitress had already helped us. I ordered the quesadilla burger $4.00, and a cheese quesadilla. The Quesadilla burger was very tasty, but much of it slipped out onto the great tasting side of tortilla chips, so it worked out. The cheese quesadilla was a little rubbery, but it only cost $2.00. The waitress brought me enough salsa and sour cream for both. However, my girlfriend's food order was not good. The order of scrambled eggs looked like a big yellow pile of eggs. The worst thing was the sausage links that she ordered with the eggs. They had neither the flavor nor the consistency of sausage links. read more

Oh my goodness, The server clearly didn't want to spend the time on our table of 4. One child ordered the kids chicken nuggets with fries. When she came with them the server practically threw them on the table. 1 nugget landed on the floor, some fries on the table. She did come back with 4 more nuggets, no fries. The child said they were horrible and didn't eat them. The other child did order steak and enjoyed it however had to get his own utensils from another table. Mine was barley eatable.. Other child was too young to complain. She never came back to see how things were or if we wanted anything. The steak sauce would have been nice. A few napkins with 3 kids too.
