It's Denny's ... I feel like you know what you are getting when you go to a Denny's. Food quality isn't great, it's not a place that I would order a steak or anything, but it's great for a cheap breakfast. I love the different specialty pancakes they come up with, at the time of this review the special was strawberry shortcake which had delicious vanilla cream. It was honestly amazing! It's a decent place to bring the family/young kids. It can be busy on Sunday mornings because of people going out for breakfast after church. It's also open pretty late so it's good for those late-night, after drinking meals. They also have a lot of decent lunch options. Their burgers are again, not great quality, but they taste good because of the obscene amount of sodium in them. Service at this location is pretty solid and the quality seems consistent. A solid Denny's in Buffalo! You have a pretty good idea on what you're getting and the staff are generally pretty pleasant. This location was pretty big on the inside, so no issue grabbing a table for two on a Sunday morning. For a diner they have a really nice hamburgers. Not good for vegans. Glad they have 55+ menu, smaller portions and half the price plus had AARP card for 15% off total amount. As another yelper pointed out, it's Denny's; you know what you're getting. I love the variety they offer with pancakes and breakfast. It turns out that our waiter was the sister of one of the people in our party which was super nice. Her name was Kendall and she was awesome. I came here on a Tuesday night around 11:30, they had about six tables occupied, one of which was a large group in the middle. One server was working the floor, as well as running food, cashing customers out, answering the phone, and also taking multiple to-go orders. She was running back and fourth so much I was dizzy just watching her. All the tables around me weren't impatient, and no one complained about the service lagging. I do think they could have used another person. Even though this location has more bad reviews than good ones, I didn't mind the service. The food was great food for Denny's food, if you get what I mean. It isn't five star restaurant quality, it's quick comfort food. I started off with a Strawberry milkshake, which came out quicker than at other Denny's locations, you're waiting forever for a shake. I ordered the Fit Flare Veggie Skillet - it came out looking picture perfect and was delicious. *Between placing the order and maybe waiting about 5 minutes, my food came out rather quickly* Use your judgment, if I was looking at the other reviews, I would have never came in. So it may not be gourmet food, but this Denny's, as least, has decent comfort food for a reasonable price. Your dining options are as follow: (1) dine inside (2) order for delivery (3) order for pickup inside (4) order for curbside pick-up All the options for to-go meals can be ordered over the phone or by using the web app. We elected to use option 4, so I can't report on the inside dining - not ready for that yet. The web order process was pretty easy. You can specify a time or an immediate order. We elected to use the immediate order (ASAP) option, and we were quoted 20 minutes on the order. And they did meet the time estimate. Picking up was pretty typical: park in a designated spot, call inside, and wait (very briefly) for your order. The meal packaging is pretty good, with holes on the top to release steam and keep your food from becoming soggy. We ordered one breakfast food order and one country fried steak order, and both were very good. The French toast, eggs, and bacon were very good. The bacon in particular had the right level of crunchiness: not burned to a crisp but not too flabby. Getting good bacon when dining out is never easy, so kudos for the good job here. The country fried steak and potatoes with white gravy had a decent flavor. Not what you might find in Texas, but still on a par with Cracker Barrel's. The broccoli was well cooked and not too crunchy. So I will give this place a try and suggest you might want to consider Denny's if the menu has something you like. read more

Terrible service and awful Cesar salad - I was served a lifeless Cesar salad last night with wilted and spoiled leaves - brought it to the attention of my server who offered another salad without offering for me to speak with a manager. By this time I had picked through to the bacon and chicken and ate that because she hadn't checked back for about 30 minutes. ZERO Stars. We never received our meals! My husband and I ARRIVED at the Main St., Amherst NY location at 10:55AM and were SEATED at a table at 11:00 AM. We were ready to order immediately as we knew what we wanted. French Toast Slam and a Burger meal. We waited patiently for over an hour as guests that arrived after us were served and table after table received meals and left. At approx.12:09PM we asked to speak to the manager about remedy. 9/8/22. My friend from out-of-state was visiting. She specifically asked if we could have breakfast at Dennys. When we walked in, the Manger was at the register, cashing someone out. We waited until he was finished. He looked at us, never greeted us, never said good morning, hello, nothing, he didn't even smile. All he said was "how many?". He grabbed two menus and let us into the dining room. Partway in, he turned left, went into the kitchen, and left us standing there not knowing what to do. One of the waitresses saw us and came up and seated us. I have never in my life been treated so rudely by a manager!! I will say that the waitress was fast and accurate, but a bit unfriendly. However, she was nowhere near as rude as the manger. The food came quickly, but we both had to ask for a refill on our drinks, we were never offered. The food was hot, and prepared as I requested. Unfortunately, I will probably not return to this location, due to the Manger. I quit going to Dennys ages ago when they switched their pancake batter to cake batter basically. I did miss the hash browns tho (when they were browned correctly) and told her it was my sole reason for being there and inquired whether the cook on duty was competent enough to brown the hash browns. (Many/most arent). She said the manager was cooking so that seemed good. When they came, they were nothing special, certainly not as pictured (which they really need to be if theyre going to be any good). Not a ton of a crust and some burnt spots. I gave them a taste and they were pretty meh so she had some new ones whipped up in no time. They were about an 8. More hard than crispy often. The grilled sandwich had a wonderful flavor but here again not really done to a turn. To add insult to injury the bottom half of the formerly crisp bread was sitting in something wet and had become soggy-ish. They do now offer some kinda multigrain pancake which is not bad. This particular Dennys is terrific! The service is very friendly and accommodating. The food preparation is excellent. Everyone here really tries to make your dining experience a good one. Just be ready to wait a bit to check out. Sometimes there is no cashier and the servers have to do it. If you are going to buy through Uber Eats I recommend you do not do it. the food arrives incomplete but it is not the UBER. it's at Denny's. I really don't understand the poor reviews of this location. My family and I have been going here for years, but recently it's become our Sunday thing. Depending on what time you go there may be a wait. People complain about waiting, but it's busy, what can you do? Nobody has patience anymore... As for service all the employees know my family and I once they see us. One time one of the employees won us a stuffed animal my mom was trying to win in the claw machine. They're always very friendly and prompt. Coffee cup is never empty, and food is always hot. It's a clean location and once you're seated the food comes pretty soon. Good prices and good quality. This is a lackluster representation of a chain diner. We showed up early and it was not crowded. The servers were top notch. I had country fried steak and eggs because you can't mess that up! Only they sort of messed it up! My steak was over crispy. Probably fried for an extra two minutes. Sort of bummed me out. My rye toast was also a let down. I think it was probably at least a day old. I was working late recently and I decided to try Denny's for a late night meal. It seemed convenient at the time but I would not go back. Yeah, I know, it's Denny's, you should know what you're getting into but lo and behold I did not. First of all, the service was friendly and fast. For that I give it an extra star. But the food just tasted all wrong. I ordered an "American Slam" consisting of scrambled "eggs", hash browns, sausage, bacon and toast. The only item that tasted like it should have was the toast. First of all, the "eggs". For the American Slam, you can only get scrambled, so that should have raised a red flag. I assumed I would get real eggs. How hard is that? They aren't that expensive. Now, I can't say for sure that these were reconstituted eggs, but if they were made from real eggs, they must have added cheap fillers to stretch the egg content. It tasted like they added a mixture of bread crumbs, cheap processed "cheese", possibly in powder form, and some other unknown substance to the eggs. It was very artificial and cheap tasting. Why can't they just serve unadulterated eggs? The hash browns were hard and crunchy, and not just a nice crunch around the edge, they were simply hard. They tasted like potato sticks. The sausage, like the eggs, had the consistency of excessive bread crumbs or some other non-meat filling agent. The bacon was serviceable at best and the toast, unlike the other items, still tasted like toast. I honestly didn't think Denny's would be all that bad for simple breakfast food, but I now know the error of my ways and from now on will get my late night eats or breakfast at locally owned diners. read more

You can expect to get some good breakfast at any time of the day, as well as some solid burgers and fries. They even have some dinners like pot roast and bourbon chicken skillet.
