My mother and I come here often before and after the quarantine but recently we have been going else where. This location has outdoor tables but don't always offer them when a customer requests it. I feel with the times right now the outdoor seating should always be an option. We don't come at odd hours either. We go around 11 for lunch and we have been denied outdoor seating and had to drive somewhere else. My mother feels more comfortable eating outdoors and if they will not have that option then we are more than happy to take our business elsewhere. We would come every other weekend too. read more

My friend and I went here this morning early for breakfast around 4 am. When we went in we saw no employees there and all the tables had plates and trash on them. There was a group of three people sitting in the corner suspiciously at first we thought they were customers but with further glance we believed that they were the employees. My friend and I stood in the lobby for 20 min waiting for a employee to greet us or guide us to our seats but no one came. We ended up leaving going to another location for food. We came in around 7:30 pm and were greeted immediately by the staff. Everyone was so nice and worked together to get our order. We were a total of 4 adults and 5 children. Omg! I had the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER here tonight. Ok, so. My best friend and l were craving a Turkey dinner. We live in covina so we went to Norms, but they didn't have the turkey dinner l wanted. Bummed out, I decided to call this Duarte location and spoke to someone (forgot her name) Who said they had the turkey dinner available. Excited, we drove down, only to be greeted by a very nice waitress by the name of Nelly. She then proceeded to tell me that the meal was not available. I was legit heartbroken because I drove all the way down there. I was having just a hard day altogether and l was really craving that darn turkey dinner lol. She took it upon herself to go back to the kitchen and I'm assuming spoke to the chef, because she came back and told me they would make one for me. I was sooooo happy! We are regulars at this Denny's on Sunday mornings. My advice is to always come before 8:30 am--when we do that, we almost never have to wait to be seated, but even by 9:15 am there's a crowd of people waiting. We love the servers on Sunday mornings--Noemi, Myra, Bertha and Gabby are all excellent servers who make us feel at home and well taken care of. As for the food, we're drawn to Denny's for their wealth of gluten-free options. Also the food we order doesn't tend to weigh us down with that super heavy feeling we get from some other similar breakfast restaurants. I especially love their coffee (not too bitter) which they always do an excellent job of keeping filled, and the red-skinned potatoes (just the right crisp!). read more

First off, the service is slow no matter if the place is empty or full. The breakfast seems to be the safest thing to order. Recently my friend wanted to go try dinner. Big mistake. Despite there only being 5 other diners the service was slow and the waitress seemed indifferent to anyone. My friend ordered the grilled cheese and soup with small salad. The salad was so sad. Barely anything to it. The croutons were stale. It looked days old. Her sandwich literally had one thin slice of cheese which didn't ever cover the bread. The bread was also thin and boring. When she asked about the cheese and showed them how it was so small they did take it and add another slice which took at least 7 minutes and was not even melted. The soup was room temp. I had the salmon (risky) but it was well cooked and was ok. Not seasoned or sauced. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. It wasn't just the terrible food that came to us cold and looking as if they reheated it from the night before, but the terrible service made the whole experience that much worst. After we received our food (some of which was missing) it was cold and the taste was off. We figured our waitress would come back soon since we were missing some of our food still. She didnt come back for about 15 minutes. When she did she brought some of the missing items, dropped them off without saying a word and walked away. We called her back and she stopped, sighed as if she was bothered by us and came back and said "yes?" In a very rude tone. We asked for a manager and she rolled her eyes and walked away. 10 minutes later the manager walked to her and asked what table asked for him. She pointed at us and the manager looked over and then walked in the other direction. About 5 minutes later he came over and said "can I help you?" We told him our concerns and he asked if we wanted them to remake the food. My husband needed to go to work soon so we didn't have time to wait so we said no. He said OK I'll take your items off and walked away. We waited another 5 minutes or so before the manager came back and said "you know what, I'll go ahead and just take care of the bill for you if you guys need to bounce." If we need to bounce? Seriously? This is the manager. Will not return to this establishment. Very unprofessional and ruined our family morning read more

It's been well over 2 decades since I stepped foot in a Denny's. So this experience feels totally new to me. I had no idea what's on their menu. I had no idea how it would taste. So.... what the heck, I gave it a try. On a weekday afternoon,(1:30ish) the place was dead. About 10% of the tables were occupied and the staff was spread thin. I saw only 2 men working the entire restaurants, serving about 8 to 10 tables. We were greeted, seated and our orders were taken quickly. The food also came out quickly, perfect for our afternoon hunger. We ordered the Build Your Own Grand Slam and the Ultimate Skillet. Both were surprisingly good. Not outstanding as if it was some extraordinary culinary creation, but everything tasted homemade, and that was what we expected from Denny's. The decor is very dated, as they probably haven't updated anything since the last time I visited a Denny's. It had a bit of a somber atmosphere, but the 2 men provided good service & we left satisfied w/ the food. No complaints! read more
