Throughout our visit, we had to ask multiple times for basic things, and the overall service just felt inattentive and unfriendly by some. The food itself was decent, which is why the experience was especially disappointing. We're Mexican ourselves and always enjoy supporting Mexican restaurants and trying places that serve food we grew up with, but good food alone isn't enough to bring us back. Considering there is almost always a long line and a significant wait to get a table, we expected the overall experience to be worth it. Unfortunately, for us, it wasn't. On top of that they added a 18% gratuity to the check! There are too many great Mexican restaurants with both good food and warm, welcoming service to justify the wait. We would not return by choice!

I started out with the Coughlin's Law cocktail (Aviation gin, house infused vanilla syrup, fresh lemon, egg white, lavender bitters, $16). It was a good light drink with light vanilla and lemon flavor. I always love a good foam top too. She started out with a Basil Paloma (Herradura silver tequila, muddled basil & grapefruit, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, simple syrup, seltzer, $15). It had good grapefruit and basil flavor, and was nicely balanced. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer ($14). The cauliflower was supposed to be grilled, but it seemed almost raw. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. They have a very good sized cocktail and food menu, as well as many beers on tap. They also have happy hour specials. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

The freshness of the lettuce and tomato on the burger actually stood out. I never realized how often you get slightly wilting lettuce at other places until I bit into this super fresh, crisp lettuce. We always have a fantastic experience at Denny's in Duarte, and I want to take a moment to thank the incredible staff, especially the servers and manager Jose. The service is consistently excellent--courteous, attentive, and genuinely concerned about making us feel at home. The food is always presented perfectly and tastes amazing. Unfortunately, today during our visit, we witnessed an unpleasant situation involving a rude woman (a light-skinned Latina) and her son. They demanded that the servers, and later manager José, deep-fry the four remaining mozzarella sticks on their plate and toast the bread they hadn't yet eaten. The manager very kindly explained that they couldn't do that for hygiene reasons, as those items had already been exposed at the table. They even offered to make fresh mozzarella sticks for them as a courtesy, but the woman and her son refused and began raising their voices. Despite manager José's calm and professional demeanor, the situation escalated. The woman and her son eventually stormed out of the restaurant without paying and continued to yell at the manager near the exit. From what we could hear, it seemed like this wasn't the first time they had tried to take advantage of the restaurant, as they had already eaten most of their meal before causing this scene. It was great to see familiar faces like Nelly and manager José, but we were truly embarrassed by what transpired. Despite this unfortunate incident, we continue to appreciate the outstanding service and professionalism of the Denny's team in Duarte. Thank you for always making our visits special! read more

Knowing the change of manager's from terrible to excellent is all I could hope for when I come in for a cup of coffee. It's a shame the previous manager could never understand the importance of respect for his employees. This is a service industry and it starts from the top! The new manager Erick has the experience and more importantly an understanding of what it takes to get the most from the employees under his leadership. The previous manager Fernando was a train wreck, always on an emotional roller coaster! That's no way to run a customer service business! Was incredibly thin and over cooked, like a cracker with pizza sauce. We ordered at 7:30 pick up time was ready by 7:28. Wasn't very many people. Restaurant seating areas were clean. We haven't had the best of luck with blaze and hadn't been here for a long time. My wife loves pizza so she couldn't resist. She'll probably resist this a little longer next time. Just not very consistent.

The food is good but a bit pricey. During my first week. I came here for lunch on my break from school with my classmate which is my friend Dre. The service was quick and fast. Wasn't to many people in the restaurant around 11:30am. The place is casual so nothing fancy and overall good if you wanted something quick. I had water on the side. Been drinking plenty of water since my fast in January which helped cleared the chilly faster as well I ordered some shills fries and a hash brown. That hash brown was pricy and not the best I ever had for 3 bucks

It led me straight to Marko's Italian Restaurant. Even though I'd already had dinner (just being a big back, lol), I had to check it out. I was seated right away by a welcoming host and immediately asked what was producing that amazing smell. It was the steak special, so I ordered it medium-rare without hesitation. Despite the restaurant being about 3/4 full, the food arrived quickly. The steak was phenomenal, the brown sauce was rich, and the sautéed vegetables were cooked to perfection. While enjoying my meal, I kept seeing fresh pizzas coming out of the kitchen. Being a big pizza fan, I ordered one to go for leftovers. The crust was flavorful, fresh, and clearly made from scratch. Marko's has definitely won me over as a regular. They have a huge menu with so many other dishes I can't wait to try, so stay tuned for future reviews!

I had the chilaquiles with a perfectly cooked eggs over easy. My husband had the Machaca. We didn't order beverages this time but I have had their fresh juices and can recommend. In general I prefer to support family business over larger chains. This is a great spot to grab good food and enjoy your morning.
