I always have good food at Dennys in Ennis. My favorite is the lumberjack slam. I have tried others. Lumberjack is my favorite though. With the cinnamon roll pan cakes. Service is always good except for occasional hiccups. Place is nice and clean. read more

We stopped here again and Patricia was our waitress again. She was attentive and helpful as usual.

Had an accident at this Denny's location in Ennis, Tx. A shard of glass stroke me while eating my meal. The manager and staff didn't seem to give any importance to the accident that cut me under the knee and tore my jeans. No one offer a hazmat envelope for the bloody napkins. Food wise it was disgusting to see the bottle of maple syrup with lint or hair on the tip of the bottle. read more

This is, by far, the best Denny's that I've ever experienced. I think it's because the owner actually cooks and is here most days. Food is prepared perfectly, service is always excellent, and the building, including bathrooms, is immaculate and always well stocked. Great job Ennis Denny's. I would give this place 10 stars if I could, I'm not sure who was working tonight( June 12th 2024) midnight-2am but I just wanna say thank you. I waited an hour and half for a door dasher to be assigned to my order, and I'm not sure if the employees re made my food cuz it sat for so long or if they waited till the dasher finally got there but I almost cried tears of joy when I got my food and it was still hot and fresh. DoorDash wouldn't let me cancel the order and I was worried my food would be cold and soggy but it wasn't. So thank you dennys employees for making a pregnant woman very happy. And mangers of the store you may wanna give them a raise cuz they damn sure deserve it. read more

Ate breakfast this morning with my co-workers; and had one of the worst experiences this year. As the server is putting my order on the table, I pull a 6" white hair out of the SantaFe skillet. She takes it back to the kitchen and apologized. My friend and co-worker next to me gets the wrong omelette. Now he's a person of color - not that that should have mattered; but she tells him that he said the wrong thing - and that it was going to take a while (the guy is allergic to the sausage that was in the omelette she brought)! When she brings out my hairless meal, it's the wrong skillet! Told her not to take it back because I'm hungry. When she finally brings back my co-worker's plate, she corrects him again! Wow! I expected the meal would be comped - or at least some kind of a discount... no discount. I guess nobody gets good service at this Denny's. Not coming back. read more

Stopping in before work. Quiet 6:00 am. Ordering the chicken fried steak breakfast with a side of puppies. I got unsweet tea and it has a little after taste. The puppies were brought to me first. They were warm and fresh. With an icing dipping on the side. The puppies are crisp in the outside and soft on the inside. Very tasty. They are probably better to be shared than individually ordered. They are sweet. Mine were blueberry flavored. I think you can order different flavors. The chicken fried steak is ok. Hash Browns are great as well as my scrambled eggs. Not sure why they give you so much bread. I think it's intended for the gravy which they don't give you very much. I'm sure you could request more. The waitress was great and just the right amount of attention. Even suggesting a to go box for my puppies giving me extra icing. Very thoughtful! I would suggest if you are cold natured bring s jacket or sweater they run ac cold here. Which is fine for me. read more

The food is good for dennys standards the servicing staff for the most part is nice. Only thing they take forever for simple orders because they don't know how to prioritize their orders. Which makes for and unpleasant experience. I waited for over 30 minutes for a chicken salad..the poor waitress was serving the whole restaurant with the added pressure of also having to cashier. Meanwhile other staff members are in the back messing up orders. May I also mention my appetizer came after my actual meal. Get it together management at Dennys read more

Service was so slow. And there was only one other person there! Forever to get seated, forever to get a menu, to order, zero checks to make sure I didn't need coffee or whatnot. Then couldn't find a soul when I wanted to pay, so another 10 minute wait. Totally ridiculous. read more

This place has the worst service, an old bag waitress had an problem with getting the order wrong. Then my coworker got his order with hair in it.......AND HE WAS CHARGED FOR THE MEAL!!! I guess the hair was an extra fee. I had to keep my cool dealing with this old failure. WTF. read more

So, it's a Denny's. It's chain food, hot coffee and pretty much the same from location to location. The 4 stars is due to the service. Our waiter, Andy, was stellar. We received a complimentary fruit bowl while waiting for our breakfast and when the toddler we were travelling with wanted to take fruit with us as we left, he packed her a little box of grapes and apple slices for the rest of our ride. Andy was attentive, made sure all of our orders were right the first time and checked in just enough to not be one of those lurker waiters. Hopes weren't to high. Seemed that only one waitress was working on a Friday night. Mgmt did walk around to pitch in. Food was fine. The kids pizza came with a pinch of cheese,even my 3yr old wouldn't touch it. I asked waitress "where's the cheese?" She pointed to the pizza and said "right there". Never mind! Not worth the fight. We have stopped in here several times while traveling on I-45. The service is always good, the food is always fresh. I don't usually write reviews for chain restaurants, but I'm writing this review because when we stopped in for lunch recently no one was eating here & they should be! I had a veggie omelet, it was one of the best I've had. My husband had a BLT burrito & it was excellent as well. The ladies who work here are so sweet, and although I appreciate not having to wait for a table, I'm sure they'd like the business! Give it a try, I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

My wife and I stopped in for dinner last night when we were passing through town. After all, Denny's are all about the same and we didn't feel like wandering around town looking for some place to try. We ordered from the senior menu and the order arrived hot and well prepared. Conspicuous in their absense were our salads (or soup) and bread. Both are listed on the menu as part of the meal, neither were ever mentioned. I decided to let it go, the salad would have been nice but I really don't need the bread. The portions were large enough that we were both full when we left. I'm listing three stars for the service and quality of what was served. I'm holding back two stars since it appears someone hasn't trained the staff, or is cutting corners at the public's expense. read more
