Not going to lie I did reach for the regular table syrup for a portion of my cakes when I learned that it was in a warmed bottle. The pancakes arrived without the strawberry topping. So I had to ask the waitress for that. I also was able to try the caramel French toast (yum) and the crab melt sandwich with fries (savory) . Free parking in the lot just be mindful that there's only one way to turn in from the street.Bring money if you want to select songs from the jukebox. There was an incident where someone in my party left behind a jacket. We were about to leave when we saw that it was left in the restaurant. I ordered the fish and chips - now I know that the Silver Diner is not a seafood restaurant, but the reality in my opinion is that fish and chips is an easy dish to make. I have enjoyed fish and chips at more restaurants than I can count, including some of the world's finest seafood on a recent trip to Iceland. My fish at the Silver Diner had the thickest and most dense breading that I have ever had! It was terrible to me. There was nothing about the breading that was light - it was way too thick, too glutinous, and the fish was substantially overcooked to the point of being dry. The fish and chips were served with a cup of chicken soup which was mediocre at best - under seasoned. We did start dinner with an appetizer of fried shrimp seasoned with a bit of Old Bay. It actually tasted very good but again the shrimp were very sadly overcooked which made them tough and chewy. So the food is definitely not for me, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a discerning taste. I also consider the food here very expensive relative to some other nearby restaurants that provide some truly great food at a much better price point.

First of all, thanks to Helen and the incredibly helpful and friendly staff for enhancing the experience and making my breakfast just that much better. Just walking in you knew you would be leaving full, content and happy (and ready for a mid morning nap)! The food was exactly what I was hoping for and actually expected. My buddy Mike had a Denver Omelette with Hash Browns and Rye Toast and I had a Cheddar Cheese, Mushroom and Bacon Omelette, also with Rye. I also got a side of Sausage Gravy for my Crispy Browns. We were the only ones there at 6:30 pm on a saturday evening. Space is huge & there is a stage for live performances. I can see how this place could be popping 20 years ago.
