It's my first time coming in the store and ohhh! I realized that i missed a lot for not trying this store for quite sometime. I did try "Togos" for the first time when i attended an event at the War Memorial Veterans building last July. Togos catered the event with packed lunches in a brown bag. I've got the Chicken salad Asian style and I love it! Today, i am craving for the chicken salad again. I visited one of their store by Hesperian boulevard and I ordered one full size for togo. (Cause i want to indulge the salad at my home). First timers, (like me) go to the counter first, order the food and wait for you name to be called after your order is done, then you can pay at the cashier. It was a long day and then commute home. We decided to eat out, my husband wanted Wendy's- I hadn't had Togo's in a long. Well I was not disappointed, I was greeted with great customer service, I wish I got his name. Very friendly, really nice, and he can make a hot pastrami and cheese sandwich. I told him my order once and he remembered, which these days is hard to find someone who remembers and gets the order right without asking you repeatedly "what did you what on that?" A takeout order of four sandwiches a little after noon. We were greeted as we came in and the two workers appeared to be helping the waiting customer before us with an order. Eric and I haven't been to a TOGO's in quite a while so I took some time to review the menu. The restaurant was tidy and organized. Super friendly, efficient, and attentive staff throughout our visit. I was leaning towards a meatball type sandwich but decided on a Turkey and Genoa. While we were ordering, the worker making our sandwiches made sure we were able to customize them. Then just like that, our order was done. I think I spent more time gawking at the menu than the worker making the food. We all enjoyed our sandwiches. I thought they were delicious and well made. I recently coordinated several days of catered lunches from Togo's for OFD training with the Hayward Fire Department, and the entire experience was exceptional. Placing the order by phone was incredibly easy -- I spoke with Shawntell (spelling may vary), who was wonderfully helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. They guided me through the ordering process, answered all my questions, and made everything seamless. Both Shawntell and Rigo prepared our daily orders with care and ensured each delivery arrived on time. Their customer service was outstanding every single day. The owner even called me personally after each delivery to confirm everything went smoothly and to make sure we had enough food for all the firefighters -- a level of attentiveness you don't often see. The sandwiches were fresh, well‑prepared, and perfect for feeding a large group. Thanks to the Togo's team, our training sessions ran smoothly, and everyone was well fed and appreciative. Ok, I'm all about being fair and I wanted to give this shop a chance but, after today, never again. I went in at a little after 1pm, waited in line for about 20mins. Longer than expected but, already invested this amount of time, I'm in. The irate part of the waiting, there were two people working behind the counter, for whatever reason, second employee decided now was the time to refill some bins and not assist at the counter. That was frustrating and I might be irrational but, good customer service keeps customers coming back, right? He did say, "sorry for the wait" and kept wandering around behind the counter instead of assisting. My turn comes up, I order a roast beef and swiss cheese sandwich on white bread, nothing fancy, no veggies, just mayo. Simple. Takes lady about 3 mins from start to finish, cool! I go to pay, mind you, this is a regular sized 6" sandwich. I was charged for a large. Noticed it while walking out but, I just want to leave, ridiculous but whatever. I get back to work, open up the sandwich, now, I know we are in a bit of a difficult time in this economy but, First, this sandwich is about 3" in diameter and supposed to be 6" long. It wasn't even a full 6" long, it's a baby sandwich, I swear, appetizers are bigger than this. The free bread at Texas Roadhouse is more filling than this. I even tipped the lady. I paid $18.28 for a $10.50 sandwich and it feels like it probably cost about $2 to make. I will never go to this Togos ever again, let alone any others. Save your money, go down the road a few miles in San Leandro to Bara's Deli or go to Castro Valley and go to Lucca's Deli, way more food, fresh, family ran businesses, and your dollar goes a lot further than this ridiculousness! read more

Came here when staying nearby for a few days, and as I love Togo's but do not have near my house (nearest location is 45 minutes away) I was looking forward to this for a long time. The place is in a small roadside strip mall, with easy access and lots of free parking. The place is actually large and well lit, great ambience for indoor dining - when that returns! There were only a couple of us here, and I quickly place my order for a large #22 on wheat, mix the cheeses with everything. Dijon mustard, no salt, thank you. The guy making the sandwich was efficient and friendly, obviously skilled at this task. The sandwich was quickly made, and after a customary exchange of goods for currency, I was on my way home - to the hotel. The sandwich was a treat - long overdue and all the more appreciated, I am sometimes surprised at how often Togo's can maintain consistency in its sandwich making, and although there are variations (this location uses more cheese, that one more pepperoncini) the product is almost uniform across locations and across the state as well. This location did not skimp on the cheeses! Makes it nice to order knowing what you'll be enjoying shortly! I went here with my son last night. We also went here 7.5 months ago. Our cashier/server last year was nice, but I had to repeat myself too much. It was frustrating. This location is open daily from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. The restroom is in the back, and you need a code to enter (it might be 2244). A Coca-Cola Freestyle machine is inside. There's also an iced tea dispenser (bottled water might also be sold here). There's some variety, but the selection of chips is more limited now. Maybe this was done to save some money. If cookies and brownies are sold here, it's not obvious. The parking lot can be a pain to deal with (it tends to be congested). Craving a sandwich today, I haven't been to Togo's for a while so I stopped in to get a turkey/ roast beef sandwich. Everything was fine until I asked for lettuce tomatoes and cucumbers on my sandwich and was told it's extra for cucumbers. So as she put lettuce and tomatoes on my sandwich, i.asked for lots.of cucumbers, she said it's 50c for 6 slices so how much cucumber did i want? Ive never been charged extra for cucumbers at subway or quiznos or the local deli. I wanted cucumbers so I said ok. The sandwich and a.bag of corn chips came out to almost $18.00! I know it wasn't all charged up for cucumbers but if you are going to charge $14+ dollars for a sandwich, should include as much veggies on it as I want. Togo's is my husband's nostalgia spot for food and when we spotted this location across from our hotel, we had to stop. The store was pretty empty which worked great because they were training a new guy and ti took an exceptionally long time to get our order but hey ~ gotta train 'em, right? This actually worked out in our favor because my husband got to talking to one of the employees (possibly a shift leader? Not sure) about Togo's and my husband's love and history with the chain. The employee then opened up a walk in door to show him an old menu from the 80s or 90s that was taped to the inside of the door. Brought back some memories for my guy! The sandwiches (pastrami 'cuz that's what it's all about for us) were great. Mine was more basic and the only way I know or want to know pastrami - meat, cheese, pickles and lots of mustard. My guy's had a bunch of stuff that seemed sacrilegious for a pastrami but whatever floats your boat.... He LOVED his and and really LIKED mine. While the flavor was great, I like my pastrami a tiny bit fattier and grilled on a flat top with crispy edges. This pastrami was much cleaner but then again....I'm a dirty girl. LOL read more

I really like this Togos. All of the staff are courteous. They are frequently busy (which says a lot) but they always acknowledge you when you enter. Other sandwich places either make terrible sandwiches or charge way too much, this Togos has a good balance of price and quality. There was another chain place close to this that recently went our of business (I take no pleasure in this business closing, we all need to make a living) I think it was because with 2 people in front of you in line it would take 15 minutes to get a sandwich. I'm very disappointed with the product; if I'd wanted a bowl of soup instead of a sandwich, I would've went to spot that served a decent soup. There are plenty of them in Oakland, which is what I should've done since I was headed that way. I've never seen or even heard of a sandwich that wet. It literally dripped with whatever it was composed of; (it was supposed to be a Philly Cheese steak) I tried to give it away but nobody wanted it so I threw it away. Loooooove me some Togo's! Their sandwiches are always delicious and their customer service/sandwich makers are always polite, never throwing you under the bus for being too pick for any reason. They could get 10 stars just based on their service alone. Joaquin has helped me out on more than 3 occasions and I know how busy they get at lunch time, so I tend to call our orders in for the office to avoid waiting in line. Grab the phone, order it up, and then drive over. it saves you a few extra precious mins of lunch break. The parking lot is always crowded (lots of other shops in the same strip mall) so be prepared for that. Also they have a place where you can eat your sandwich in the main dining area with tables if you have the time. 5 stars for service. 5 stars for the food. 5 stars overall. Thanks guys! The Asian chicken salad is my favorite of all time when I was in high school many many many moons ago they used to add baby corn to their Salads but they have since been removed. So sad. Don't order a wrap from here, as they don't know how to make them properly. We've had wraps from other locations, and they are really good, so we know what the wraps *should* look and taste like. The ones we got from here were kind of a disaster. First off, they looked nothing like a wrap should, as they were flat little squares. Second, they were way smaller than they should have been (this is in comparison to how other locations make them, not just our personal opinions). Third, they were missing ingredients. I was just getting ready to head across the Hayward bridge, and I saw the Togo's sign. I'm very glad I did.! I ordered a hot pastrami sandwich! I'm 62 years old and have been to more Togo's than I would admit to in public. My Togo's sandwich engineer was Rigo. To put it simply, it was the best #9 I've ever eaten.
