I want to give a shout out to this Denny's. They remodeled the restaurant and made it into such a warm place. It's been our regular meeting spot for my daughter with special needs and her friend. The staff is patient and warm and goes above and beyond to make sure that we have everything we need. My friend said that she feels like we are treated like family. The manager makes a point to check in with all of the tables and the servers are so personable that make the experience so wonderful. read more

I don't think that we have been to Denny's in over ten years but hubby had a coupon and a Sunday morning craving for a big breakfast so off to Denny's we went. The place itself it decently kept up. Our service was okay but not great. There was another group being seated just as we entered but no one came back to seat us. We wait and waited finally someone noticed us and called another staffer over to seat us. Then again when we went up to pay our check it took longer than necessary to get someone to take our money. Our food was fine. I had the Santa Fe skillet and hubby had the make your own slam. Both came out hot and cooked as requested. Really no complaints. read more

This Dennys is good. Much improved menu and food in the last couple years. One complaint is they give you margarine and not butter with your toast or pancakes. The oatmeal is not good at all..watery and bland. Other than that, I have not gotten a bad meal. I don't like the music they play though, mostly 50's and 60's. The chocolate shake was really good and I love the build your own grand slam. The service has been good. I will be back. read more

I'm giving this Denny's a 3 star review because I've eaten here in the past and the staff is hard working and dedicated. The food is what to be expected from a Denny's. However, today I walked in at 1:30pm and it was severely understaffed. There was an incredibly long line and hardly any tables were filled. No one was seated in the 10 minutes we waited. Several people walked out. My group left shortly after. Will probably try again down the road and hopefully management will get things figured out. read more

Whenever I come here its always good, the burgers are the best around LBVS!!!! The manager is a first class act, the cook is super fast and so is the waitstaff...I don't know why this place gets so many bad reviews, I know it's Highland Park and people want you to kiss their butts, but come on. I already had in mind what I wanted to order from the advertisement on the placemat in front of me and it was the blueberry pancake puppies and the banana pecan pancake breakfast and oh was I disappointed when the waitress told me that they do not have either of them!! The service here has always been good, and this goes back ~20+ years. This is Denny's, so people coming in for 5 Star meals are at the wrong place, but for a consistent breakfast and lunch menu, I have never been disappointed. I love bringing my son here, and watching the smile from ear-to-ear appear as his chocolate chip pancakes arrive with bacon. We had 10 people at our table. The waiter came and WROTE EVERYONES order down on paper. I ordered veggie burger with no onions, and mustard instead of Mayo. I stressed with this guy that I am allergic to meat. He brings a piece of greasy flesh in a bun to me, which did its job of making me sick to my stomach. I told him this is not what I ordered so he returns with the correct sandwich around 15 minutes later (most of our table had finished their meal already), that had Onions on it and offered NO apology. Then he brings it back with no onions and I asked where the mustard was and he never returned or offered an apology. Later the manager came out and was told this and he also offered no apology and just told us that serving 10 people was confusing. Huh? They have one job and they are incompetent and the waiter couldn't read his own writing? Both the manager and the waiter should be fired and they would be better suited to an occupation that does not require use of the brain. Customer service is unknown at this location and I would avoid it at all costs. Poor service is their way and I will be sharing this experience everywhere, and with everyone I know in the area. Ahh, the power of the internet. Its a shame that the manager does not know that one bad customer experience means a loss of over a 100 customers by the time its over. I know that, "it's Denny's, what did you expect", is what a lot of people will say. I expect better. EVERYTHING was sticky, the menu, the table, the salt and pepper shakers. It was ridiculous. We got there about 9am on a Saturday and the place barely had a pulse. That should have been our first sign. I ordered coffee and my wife had a Pepsi. We never got any ice water, which I like to believe should be automatic. I then ordered the chicken fried steak and my wife had the biscuits and gravy. My eggs were ordered over-medium and prepared barely over easy. The hashbrowns were a bit under done and quite greasy. The food was over-all a three star experience. When we sat down, my wife's first words were, "wow, this place needs an update". Those words are very true. read more

I haven't been to a Denny's in a few years, but we went here for early dinner during the snow day just to get out of the house. We were seated quickly, the waiter was friendly and came by to check on us regularly. The food was pretty good, served fast, and at a very reasonable price. Also they were friendly to our baby, who made a mess dropping bits of food, so we left a generous tip to say thanks! The highchairs are actually much better than most restaurants. read more

Went with a group of 6 and we all ordered samdwhiches and hasbrowns. I asked for mine well done and they proceeded to serve the food to our table. The rest of the table got their food well done and mine was soggy and raw. Alex the manager was unaccomodating and rude. Mean staff and nasty food. Stay far away from this dennys spot. read more
