Great Saturday morning breakfast at this Walker Bros location! Came at 9am and there was no line, so the 3 of us were seated immediately. Our server came promptly and got us started with their house signature blend coffee, which they serve with heavy cream. Absolutely delicious, but could have been a bit hotter! We ordered 49er flapjacks and an Egg Benedict dish with a side of crispy Hashbrowns. Their pancakes were served with their "house syrup" which turned out to just be corn syrup. We opted to upgrade to real maple syrup for $3/serving. Kind of wish real maple syrup was the standard! Regardless, the food was very good. 4.5/5 flapjacks--chewy and soft and addictive with butter! The Benedict was decent, maybe 3.5/5 as the ham was chewy and the hollandaise was a bit heavy. We came here for breakfast with friends and had a great experience. My friends ordered the spicy hashbrowns and they were delicious--well-seasoned, flavorful, and actually spicy. I had the chipotle chicken crepe, which was hearty and satisfying, while my husband went for the apple cinnamon pancake, the house specialty. It was sweet, tasty, and lived up to the hype. The portions were very generous--plenty to take home for later--and everyone at our table enjoyed their food. Walker Bros is a great spot for a weekend breakfast/brunch. Once we did we were greeted promptly upon arrival and were served water and ordered our food. The strawberry waffles were crunchy on the outside but we're soft in the middle and got softer as the syrup melted inside. They were the perfect sweet spot. The combo was a savory breakfast beyond compare with fresh browns, scrambled eggs, and melty cheddar cheese. The eggs benedict had flavorful sauce and ham which were notable and the eggs were left without the water flavor that some poached eggs tend to have. Food at Walker Bros is always fairly good. They are on the higher end price wise for breakfast/brunch. The breakfast healthy medley that I got is really good. I really enjoyed the oats on top of the pancakes. It was a delightful texture combination in my opinion. The service was great and attentive to our table. My only complaint which is not food related would be that it was fairly tight in the front when waiting. Because it is a Sunday morning I understand that they will be packed but it was very difficult to wait in line since there is not a lot of space. The front waiting area is narrow. Went to Walker Bros for breakfast with the family after a long time and it's still so good. The HP location is my favorite to go to. The staff is friendly, the wait is always reasonable, and the food is always great. For a party of 3 they sat us within 5 minutes and they even gave my son some crayons and a maze to color on. For food we split a few things. The Blueberry pancakes were so fluffy and delicious, I recommend to throw a bit of their blueberry compote on there as well. The spicy has browns with habanero cheese and pico de gallo is one of my favorite things to get here and it's always so flavorful and does a good job balancing out the sweetness of pancakes. We also had sausage links and bacon. Both were really good. The links are solid, but their bacon is my favorite, it's the right thickness and perfect blend of meaty and crispy. My favorite breakfast place -- I always have a good meal here! I don't know what magic they put in the scrambled eggs, but they are so creamy and fluffy! Visited with a friend today and was surprised by how unfriendly the hostesses were. Maybe it was because it was 1:00 and close to closing, but she showed us our table tossed our menus on the table and walked away. No smile or anything. My husband and I stopped here for breakfast today, 02/20/23, after I underwent a small outpatient medical procedure. After awaking from the anesthesia I apparently exclaimed that I wanted strawberry pancakes, and after some quick online research we decided to give this restaurant a try. We arrived at about 11:00 am and were seated right away. One of the first things I noticed are the beautiful stained glass windows that align the building. I ordered a simple breakfast of buttermilk pancakes with strawberries and bananas. My husband ordered the Santa Fe omelet. I didn't get a picture of my husband's omelet, unfortunately, because he started eating immediately. The portions were very large. I had six pancakes and took three home. Both of our meals were very good. We had multiple servers, who were all very attentive. We ordered water to drink, and our glasses were kept filled at all times. They brought a box, check, and cleared the dishes very promptly. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and we would happily eat here again! read more

Food was good as usual, but I am very disappointed that they got rid of the grilled potato's they were half the reason we go. And when we tried to order rye bread and they don't even have it!!! Catching up with an old friend. Instead of meeting central I decided that I wanted to go somewhere that got me east and away from my hotel by O'Hare. I'm not sure if I've ever been to Walker Bros. but I know that I've had it before. At her suggestion I was glad she suggested it because I remember nothing but good food from there. We both ordered breakfast and before I even eat sat down I saw the plates of others and knew I was in for a treat. I ordered a mushroom, spinach and cheese Omelet and she ordered some crepes. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the rest of her crepes. Oh dear!..I was an eating machine but it was so good and being able to catch up with a special friend while I was home made everything that much better. You can tell that it's a fixture of Highland Park's downtown because it brought the community out for good food, service and probably for many just a time to enjoy  company with those that they care for over a great meal. People were lined up and that's always a good sign when people are willing to wait for something. This is definitely a neighborhood gem and I liked it.
