Like most Dennys, this place is infested with large groups of senior citizens, demandin' their Rooty Tooty Fresh 'n Fruities RIGHT NOW dangit! This particular restaurant was very understaffed for the crowd, the waiter was doing one heckuva job considering all the tables he had. Food was very slow coming out of the kitchen, but was very well-prepared and tasted great. At the end of our meal, though, our waiter disappeared, probably sobbing in the men's room because he couldn't take managing 15 tables anymore. Ugh. My mom, my grandmother, and I decided to have lunch at this Denny's on our way to another errand in the area. I ordered the meatball sub, which had a dried out portion in the middle of the meatball and hardened cheese that at first I thought was a misplaced toothpick. My mom had a salad, and showed me just how stale the croutons were. My grandmother had a breakfast plate, and according to her the eggs were dried out. The waiter didn't check on us until our meal was almost done, when we clearly needed drink refills. And, speaking of check, we waited forever on it. There are many competing restaurants in this area that actually give a darn about the customers. Please patronize them instead of this Denny's. If you absolutely must have Denny's, there are other locations not too far away in any direction. read more

I'll write a review simply because the 2 star rating is not fair imo. I've never been to this location before today but am in the area for an appointment. We don't smoke but this Denny's has a section for those that do. Nice! But D's staff should consider something to reduce the strong cigarette odor that greets guest at the door. Friendly staff. I visited this location at 5 in the morning there was absolutely no one in there! I was greeted and seated was than asked what to drink. I asked for my hashbrowns to be extra crispy and they were raw, and completely soaked in oil! Mind you I waited for my plate for about 40 mins! Crew was talking having the time of their lives and there I was with no type of status on my food nor was asked if I wanted a refill! I will not be visiting this location let alone go to another Dennys ever again! This place should close down for the horrible staff that it contains and for cooking food below the safe temperature! I usually prefer IHOP and don't go to Denny's. I had a good experience here. The wait staff was friendly and food service fast. Coffee refills were fast. Best part? When I paid, the cashier asked me if I had an AARP card. No one ever does that! I guess places don't ask because some people probably get mad that someone thinks they are old. The food always tastes the same no matter the cook, and I find that to be hard with big businesses but this one nails it every time. No matter the time of day, I'm treated with the best service. Horrible customer service!!!! I spoke with one of the female managers after my husband picked up a order I called in and different items were correct and missing . The manager told me she would fix. I called today to get my meal and I was told no that they would not be replacing my order and asked who I talked to but manager I spoke with did not give me her name. So I am sitting here waiting for my food after waiting about 15 mins to be seated. First choice was sushi but nothing is open. It is Thanksgiving night. It doesn't look too full in here but I guess they are short handed and that's why the workers are all over the place. Horrible service and food. We tried nicely to speak to cashier about it and she was extremely rude and couldn't have cared less. For a restaurant with few diners you would think they would treat the few customers they have better. We didn't want anything free. We just wanted for them to hear our concerns so they could improve. I am just not impressed with Denny's. Not sure how they continue to stay relevant. The reason we ended up here is because it was the only thing open after midnight with decent choices for all in our group. I am not sure why they bother to have a NON-SMOKING section, because the smell of cigarette smoke permeates the ENTIRE dining area, which makes for a horrible dining experience. I guess it's because this location is technically Harris County that they are able to do this, but I thought they got rid of smoking in restaurants in Houston. I'm not a big fan of Denny's restaurants. I've always thought their food is nothing special and somewhat boring. Well on this particular day I was coming from a doctor's appointment, had to go back to work and didn't have much time to look for a place to eat, so I decided to go to Denny's which is only a few blocks away from my job. My first impression upon entering the restaurant was that none of the employees (including the manager) wanted to be there. No one behind the counter looked up when I entered followed closely by another couple. We all had to wait about a minute before we were acknowledged, definitely not a good sign! I was taken to a booth, my waitress took about five minutes before coming to ask if I wanted coffee, now you don't do that to someone that has not had any coffee at almost ten in the morning! she finally took my order which came back rather quickly accompanied by the check, and that was the last I saw of her. I think I was there about 45 minutes and not one staff member smiled at any of the patrons. When I went to pay the manager was behind the register counting the money, again I had to wait to be acknowledged, he finally looked up after I cleared my throat, he looked at me with a blank stare, did not smile, didn't ask me how was my meal, didn't ask anything at all! stretched his hand to ask for my ticket and the money, gave me the receipt and sent me on my merry way without so much as a burn in hell for eating here!!! My self my friend & her daughter stopped in to grab dinner last night around 5:30pm. Everything was going fine till I noticed our server on the phone, which at the same time the manager must have noticed too. I over heard the manager ask our waitress to hang up the phone or go on break. It wasn't 3 mins later our server was yelling at the manager & cussing at her. I didn't appreciate the words coming from her mouth since we had a 8 year old little girl with us, and I also didn't appetcatie the way this employee was treating her manager for asking her to do her job correctly. We recently moved into this area and are not sure where the breakfast locations are yet...we decided to go ahead and stop at this Denny's even though we have not cared for the other ones we visited. I like my eggs cooked over medium well... The cooks here are one of the few who know how to get it right! The grits had a great texture and were not runny and biscuits were not crumbly...the service was courteous and timely. I was pleasantly surprised as several of the Denny's I have been to lately were disgusting. The prices are average range... $6.99-$9.99 for the breakfasts. I like the build your own grand slam. Even before we moved to this part of town, we've patronized this Denny's location. We've always had good/great service here, much better than the one that was closer to us at the time (Denny's near Willowbrook Mall). It seems that the cooks here is also a cut above what you would normally find. A recent example would be when I ordered the Nacho's last night. The ingredients were chopped down to the perfect sizes, and It wasn't made to where all the toppings were JUST at the top and all the nachos at the bottom were bare. Kudos unknown chef-guy. My server name was Kenda, she was very distant towards me and my son she did bring our order very quickly and the food was good. I guess the biggest issue is Kenda took 10 minutes to check us out and there was no one in line and the restaurant wasn't even busy. I really love this location. The waitresses are friendly and the food is delicious. I tried one of their new skillets (the chicken Gouda skillet with whole grain rice) and it was the best thing I've ever had there, besides the bourbon chicken skillet. I hope this stays on their menu. read more

This Denny's had been a go to breakfast spot for me and my family for many years. It is an older place and sometimes the tables feel greasy. Guess it is just worn like an old comfortable shirt. The food is on par with what you would expect from a diner. A good place after the bars close or to deal with the headache the next day. What does stand out are the waitresses there. Many I have seen working there for many years. They are always kind and sweet to my daughters and check on you often, even when it is busy and it usually is on the weekend.
