This is the BEST Denny's I've ever been to. The service is wonderful and the restaurant is clean. The staff greets you with a warm smile and brought us coffee back to our table immediately. The food was good, the server "Tony" was ruin from the start, didn't provide good service at all. Got 2 of our orders incorrect and when corrected politely he snapped back. When we went to pay we planned to pay with card and leave a CASH tip, and he jumped to conclusions and went "No tip" in a raised voice and handed the card back rudely. In this age of overpriced new and hot breakfast places, it's nice to be able to come to a nice, clean Denny's with very friendly servers and reasonable prices. It's right off the 5 at Sand Canyon, and it does share a parking lot with Knowlwood so the parking gets busy at times, but you can always find a spot in the back. While the hot and new places are fun to explore, sometimes it's nice to come to Denny's and order a Super Slam for $7. read more

I've been ordering to go from here throughout the pandemic. They keep forgetting a la carte items that I paid for, and I have had to call them each time to get a refund. Most recently after one of my a la carte items was missing, I called the manager for a refund on the item. No refund after a few days. I called the manager again, who promised to refund me. Still no refund. It's not even about the money, but it's the principle of following through when your restaurant makes a mistake. I will NOT be returning to this Denny's again. I just left Denny's and I wish I would've got my waiters name because he was a bully! He wouldn't give me the card reader so I could decide to tip or not. He didn't even let me put my card in because he wanted to see if I would tip him or not. Of course, I skipped the tip - so as he walked away he started singing "F*** You". I was quickly seated at a booth and then forgotten. lol Turns out my waiter went in a break and the person covering thought he had taken my order. No prob. Didbt want to go to Denny's when it was suggested but had a very good experience. I enjoyed the food and the service was fantastic! Our server was a young man named Manuel. His disposition is exceptional! Very professional and courteous. I was so impressed that it's now two days later but I remained to come a give this young man his proper respect for a job done above and beyond. His composure is such that I can't imagine him not running the place (or some other business ) one day in the not too distant future! Several other team members were friendly as well. I work closely to this location and every time I've called in they get my order spot on. They are always on time and just recently I tried to actually order for pick up online and it was even more convenient. The only down fall to this location is they close way too early ... I would love for them to stay open later since I am off of work at 0200. Other than that I love the customer service and I am happy to say that they always get my order correct and the food is always fresh ..... We ordered over the phone. We asked about wait times and were told it shouldn't take long to be seated so we assumed our order was dine-in and we were never asked to go or dine in. When we got to the restaurant, the servers kept saying "it's to go, right?" and we let three different people know we intended to dine in. our server took our menus after seating us, and set the to go bags down on our table and walked away really fast even though we told him we wanted to dine in. we were pretty upset with the treatment and left. I ordered an all american slam, which was okay, but the toast was stupid and I can't believe someone was okay with sending this out. I really thought that all Denny's would be the same but I guess I'm wrong. Lil guy wanted to have breakfast at Denny's. I didn't care either way. Usually I take him to the Denny's off Culver which is pretty consistent, although I do not like how crowded it is both in how close the tables are and how many people are always there. This location is much more comfortable in that the tables are far apart and really spacious. The staff are attentive although not always focused. I ordered a grand slam for myself and a kids' french toast breakfast for lil guy. I got iced tea and lil guy got OJ. When they brought out the kids breakfast, it looked nothing like the one on the menu, plus there was an egg on this one. I asked the guy and he took it away, only to return a few minutes later telling me that a wrong order had been put in but lil guy could eat it anyway. (HUH???) My grand slam looked nothing like the one I usually get. The toast was anemic and my poached eggs looked like they came from a skinny farm. It wasn't until after we'd finished eating that I realized that they had brought apple juice for lil guy instead OJ. Luckily he hadn't even touched it yet. I motioned for the guy to come and he replaced it. When the bill came, they charged us for a senior meal instead of a kid's meal. I was like WTF..... as if we hadn't had enough mishaps for one morning. Finally, everything was adjusted... I really didn't want to leave a tip, but I wasn't mean like that and still left him close to 20% which was way more than he deserved. read more

This is probably the best Denny's I have ever been to! Our server Maggie was very friendly. We came in for dinner and ordered the "Grand Slam" and we built our own. My girlfriend got the egg whites, turkey bacon, hash browns, and the pancake stack. I got two orders of turkey bacon, egg whites, and the hash browns. The egg whites were perfectly cooked and tender - make sure to season them with salt and pepper provided on the table. The turkey bacon was smokey, and the hash browns were perfectly crispy. Above all, this Denny's is clean and the ambiance is great! One thing I noticed - since we sat facing the kitchen - was the amazing energy in the kitchen clearly led by the manager Victor. A glance in the kitchen and you can clearly see a team of energetic people working together as a unit and getting food out in a timely manner led by a hands-on manager who truly leads from the front. This exceptional display is very rare to find and to see so I just had to include this. With Victor at the helm I'm sure this Denny's will continue to thrive and beat out the rest. I am a veteran. I ate there many many times without issues. On New Year's Day I went back with my friend. The service was bad by that waiter; the waiter I had never seen him before. He rushed us to pay in three occasions while I was still eating. When finally we decided to pay and asked him to put the military discount on the bill. He tried to fool me that his boss told him that there's no discount at all. He didn't want to provide nor wanted to ask his manager. I told him he would get $0 tips if he didn't honor the military discount. He said it would be okay for no tip. Then he came back later and told me his manager was okay with the discount and asked me for a good tips. I will think twice or three times to return and will not recommend other to go. The service by that waiter was the worst I had ever seen at Denny's. read more

The restaurant was clean, and we received great service. However, the food was horrible. We ordered boneless wings and got chicken nuggets with tons of BBQ sauce poured on top. My Eggs Benedict had fried eggs instead of poached and the hollandaise sauce was thick and cold and didn't taste like hollandaise. My kids aren't picky eaters but both of them said the fries were soft and not salted and that they tasted more like mashed potatoes. After eating a few of them, they left the rest on their plates. We came here for our weekly dinner out as a family, but I don't think we'll ever be back. read more

Denny's has evolved into a nicer place to dine out than in the past. Food is good and is a great value. The burgers are juicy and good with an abundance of fries. This location is clean and modern and has both indoor and patio seating. Service is quick and has been good each time I've been here. Service was quick even with the weekend breakfast crowd. This is the only Denny's to come too. The management and team there are top notch. Service and food are ALWAYS on point. My wife and I ordered food there several times during the lockdowns and have been impressed with the quality of the food every time. Orders are always ready on time and packaged nicely. This is the lonely Denny's I try to get to as much as possible. It is really easy to miss because there are no signs off the freeway. I usually get breakfast here, and I like my eggs over hard since salmonella is not appealing to me. They have never screwed up. Unlike other Denny's, they have a board of specials. I've ordered off this a few times and didn't notice anything shady about it. Service here is quick and excellent. The best aspect of Denny's is that A) it's open 24/7 and B) this location has free wifi, I repeat free wifi! I never expect much from any Denny's. This location is no different. It definitely has one of the more diner-like ambiance going for it than many of the other Denny's I have visited before and it's in the Sand Canyon area of Irvine so it's a little further away from UC Irvine. However, since the Denny's off Culver closed this has become a new study spot for many 'eaters such as myself during finals week. This Denny's has got you covered with coffee, tea and food to munch on as you utilize their free wifi and try to get away from the chaos that is finals week (aka you couldn't find any seats at the libraries, gateway, or whatever or your roommates were annoying you or you can't get work done at home) this is definitely the place to go. The food's always been so-so to me and hit or miss. You get what you pay for and they have pretty good deals on their value menu! So be sure to check that out especially if you're on a budget. My favorite things to get are the breakfast foods though more s than the lunch options, but maybe I have been ordering the wrong things! I got the turkey sandwich with soup and it was underwhelming. Service here has always been or hit or miss. That and the underwhelming food you can get is why I am giving this Denny's a fairly low rating. At times our waiters or waitresses would overlook us or not check up on us as often as we would like, so our waters would not be refilled for quite some time or if we wanted to get more food sometimes we just wouldn't bother because...well no one bothered to ask us. However, that's not to say that if you don't come at odd hours - ie super later at night, this might not happen to you. But to be honest, I can't tell you because I am really only a regular during the Finals Struggle. But it's affordable and you get the diner feel! So that's always nice, plus wifi. Gotta love that wifi. Lastly, note if you're here to study - only use this as a study spot if you can handle some noise. Clean, quick and generally pretty accurate...and the food tastes great! Denny's is Denny's. For years, the staff at Denny's has had to deal with obnoxious partygoers and it never fails to amaze me how professional and patient they are with these people. They definitely keep their cool like nobody's business. The food at Denny's has it's place and time. Moons over my Hammy hits the spot deadon when it's 2am and you just want something greasy to sop up all that booze you just consumed. The lumberjack slam is hubby's favorite on his cheat days.
