This Denny's location has been my wife and my go-to spot for as long as we've lived in Long Beach. The staff is always so polite and helpful and the food is a 10/10 every time we have it. The past few times we've came by Manuel has served us and he has been spot on every time. Horrible service. There was no host at the stand, and they looked annoyed we were even waiting to be seated. After about 10 minutes of awkward eye contact a guy comes up, asks us if we need a kids menu, sits us down but never comes back with the kids menu. We were sitting for about 20 minutes and they still hadn't asked us what drinks we want. As we looked around we noticed a lot of the tables had to keep getting up to ask for stuff, check on their orders, getting refills, pretty much doing the servers job for them. After seeing how badly it was being run we said fuck that, left, and went to the other Dennys up the street on Bellflower. Over there we got helped instantly and the service was amazing, so advice to anyone thinking about going here, just take the extra 10 minutes to go to the other one on Bellflower. read more

You can only ask for so much at 2 in the morning. Norma and her team delivered. It being 2am and the dennys was rather busy. Me and my godkids came here after a fun movie night. Norma greeted us warmly and helped us. Her kind demeanor really did make a difference in our experience. She cracked a joke and made us all feel like family. The food is as good as it could be for Dennys (pretty good). It tasted like crispy mashed potato bites! Even the avocado was fresh and delicious, and the other lady on shift came around often to clean and clear dirty dishes. The service is very good. BUT the food has gone down dramatically. I got a waffle slam with and extra side of hash browns. The hash browns were extra salty and the potatoes were cooked on the outside but not so much on the inside. As one of the few places in the area to dine-in late at night, we went to Denny's for a late dinner at 11:30PM on a Tuesday. There is a dedicated parking lot. This building appears quite old, though the retro look adds to its charm. It also has a unique token system to use the restroom, something I have never encountered before. The restaurant is small but cozy, and this location is open 24 hours a day. Service was friendly and someone checked on us regularly. We ended up ordering a steak dinner and country fried steak; each entree comes with choice of two sides. I also got an order of biscuits and gravy. The fried steak was nice and crispy, though the country gravy was a little too thick and not that flavorful. Corn and dinner bread were great. The salad was refreshing but I didn't know they used shredded cheddar cheese; I would have asked them to hold the cheese (I don't like cheddar). I do like how the salad dressing was automatically served on the side, so that you can add dressing to taste. The biscuit with gravy was a let down, as the country gravy is mediocre as detailed above and the biscuit was also neither crumbly nor a nice toasted golden flaky brown. I think I was spoiled living in the South (Virginia) for a few years in my past with phenomenal biscuits and gravy. The steak dish was great, juicier than expected for a diner, and came with a side container of A1-esque sauce (could have been actual A1 sauce but I didn't ask). Went here on a Sunday. I thought I was not going to like the experience since there are two busy streets intersecting this location, PCH and 7th st. I was wrong, it is quite easy to park. Greeted and seated. Our assigned waitress was kind and professional. Ordered the Breakfast steak plate along with pancakes. Food was delivered with 10 minutes. Fresh and delicious. Waitress was attentive and the place was clean. The best part about this location, it does not get crowded. Different from the rest. I have a hunch it is the location of this Dennys which is intimidating to even go to. Don't be, there are parking signs everywhere. Good Dennys.. good energy. read more

I came here for a late night snack, dessert and coffee. My boyfriend and I were bored and wanted to sit in a cafe where we won't feel rushed to leave after eating. It was late so we just shared an appetizer combo. We also had coffee, strawberry cheesecake and apple crisp. It is Denny's, so I knew the food would be mediocre. The appetizer combo came with boneless buffalo wings, onion rings, fries and mozzarella sticks which all tasted like they were frozen. The strawberry cheesecake tasted store bought. The apple crisp was way too sweet. It has caramel and powder sugar which I think could have been eliminated so that it isn't overly sweet. The coffee tasted good and I love how they have French vanilla creamer. Although the food was not all that, we really enjoyed the ambiance because again we wanted to be in a diner that is open late where we could stay and hangout for a long time. We stayed for about two hours and no one bothered us. The restaurant is also very clean compared to other Denny's I've been to. Customer service was a bit slow, but everyone was nice and friendly. read more

This is a review for the treatment we received on May 18. We saw the Buy One, Get One for $1 deal for Slam breakfast on television, so we went in to get that deal. NO, says the server, it's only Mon-Fri. That's not what the national advertising says. That's not online anywhere, so why lie to us? We ordered Slam breakfasts, but couldn't get the deal.
