I had a little trouble using the kiosks, but Marilyn stepped in right away and was incredibly helpful. She took the time to ask how I was doing and how my weekend was, which made the experience feel very personal and welcoming. I was in the mood for fish... and it was Tuesday... so I popped in for some fish tacos! I had gotten entrees and a bowl here in the past, but this was the first time trying their tacos. I opted for three different varieties, a la carte, though you can get a combo plate with two tacos plus rice snd beans, or even sub other sides. I ended up taking some kaleslaw from my hubby's plate and that was the perfect addition. Ranking them from most tasty to least- *Battered fish taco. I should have gotten two of these! Good sized piece of fish, perfectly crispy fried but so moist and tender inside. The pickled onions and red cabbage added texture and brightness. Really good. *The cajun shrimp taco. Good flavor with a little kick and some spice. The pickled onions and cabbage were a nice addition. Shrimp were grilled nicely but sparse. *Grilled chicken taco. Pretty bland and nothing special. Decent sized pieces of chicken but a little dry. The taco shells were like nothing I have ever had. They were very thick, dense and while having a good corn flavor they were dry and chewy. The shrimp taco, with its thinner sauce, worked the best with it because it softened and flavored it a little while I ate. I should have asked for some salsa or some other sauce to moisten the tacos more. I don't think I will order them again, but as with all their menu items the ingredients are fresh and good quality. read more

First time at the California Fish Grill location, and probably will not be my last! Inside was spacious and busy in the later afternoon. The line moved quickly, orders are taken at a kiosk. There was a worker standing nearby to help if needed, which was nice. The kiosk was easy to navigate, and their menu is pretty expansive with different fish options, as well as shrimp and even lobster! They even have chicken options for the non seafood lovers. I chose the Cajun shrimp taco combo with a side of zucchini and tomato/feta, which also came with a drink, which I felt was a great deal! The shrimps were nice and plump, and I loved the fresh veggies and pickled onions on the tacos. They even offered complimentary sauces, lemons, and cilantro! Went here for dinner last night. I got shrimp tacos and a swai taco. They were both awesome. Got the shrimp in corn and flour, preferred the flour. Also got a side of Brussels sprouts that were very tasty! My wife got a plate with rice and corn, was very fresh and light. It's a nice setup inside a mini strip mall setting. I was so sad when the one by my house closed down becuase during lent I loved going here to get the cajun salmon salad and their tacos. They are reasonably priced and their portions are pretty generous. During lunch they do get pretty busy but in my opinion it is worth the wait. read more

I've forgotten how much I love eating at California Fish Grill. I usually opt for a white fish because it's significantly cheaper and I feel like it just picks up the seasoning a little better. I teeter between the swai and tilapia though both are very similar in flavor and texture. On a recent visit, I ordered the tilapia plate ($12.25) with half garlic butter seasoning and half Cajun. For my sides, I chose white rice and fries, however there are much healthier options. I love that each plate is customizable. To be honest, the garlic butter was much thicker than I remember. It had a tartar sauce consistency. It was much too thick for my liking. I'll stick to the Cajun seasoning next time. If you're not super hungry, I suggest ordering off the kids menu. The kids grilled swai plate is so cheap at $8.25. You get to choose your sauce of choice, one side, and a beverage. What a steal! read more

I'm not sure what's going on at this location. I've been here a few times within the past 3 months and all times I had to wait minimum 45 mins for a walk in takeout order.. yes 45 mins. Now let's talk about what I wait 45 mins. I ordered the new lobster roll with brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries. The lobster roll was the smallest lobster roll I have ever had in my life. When I opened the box I thought it was a kids meal. Take a look at my picture if you don't believe me. My hand is bigger than the roll. Also the Brussels sprouts were hard and even though the description said with "balsamic" for some strange reason it had diced tomatoes tossed with it... Have you ever had Brussels sprouts with diced tomatoes? I didn't think so... YUCK! I have two stars instead of one because the servers are nice and I feel bad for them because they're always running around like crazy checking orders. There's aaaaalways a gang of people waiting with the arms crossed by the pickup area. This was my last attempt to give them another chance but I'm officially done. read more
