Service from the beautiful Melanie B. was as perfect as my mother's and mine meals! We always split things so we can try different dishes and the courses were timed out perfectly from Melanie and everytime we eat here the food id consistently delicious which says a lot about all the cooks here. These guys are fast and care about quality. The food always comes out piping hot and served with a smile. We will definitely continue to come back for every occasion as well as our casual lunches!! Great neighborhood Dennys. The Club Sandwich is always great. The bacon avocado burrito is also awesome! The service is awesome!! The double cheeseburger with avocado is huge! The service was nice until we got seated. My friend asked for a kids menu, but our server said it was only for kids and he would check with the manager. The manager came and he asked us if we wanted anything to drink. We were like no, do you have a kids menu? We usually ask for kids menus because we usually don't have a large appetite. Usually all the Denny's that we've been to give us one no problem, but the manager here said it was only for kids 12 and under. After that we politely excused ourselves and left. It seems like over here they value rules over customer satisfaction. They just lost two customers. We won't be returning to this Denny's again. read more

I've been meaning to write this review for sometime now just been busy though.It's nice to have a place away from home to study late at night .Especially when you have to dedicate your weekends regularly to schoolwork.Food is great for the price especially when the only other food places are fast food drive thrus no thank you.The servers i've had in the past have been great Reuben ,and i believe Dara both polite,and hard working .But i must emphasize the sweet charismatic atmosphere Dara adds to this Dennys .I used to hop around different Dennys to have a change of scenery ,but now i rarely do that .It's a comfort ,one rarely feels anymore outside of family genuine care,and love for people.She is sweet and caring to everyone from what i've seen each time.The world doesn't have enough of that she is a great reminder for me to stay positive.Even though school day in day gets tiring sometimes.I highly recommend this Dennys to anyone who needs there spirits lifted from working to much,and just the stresses of not having a normal schedule. read more

If you value your time, don't go here! I've gone in the morning & late at night, & each time I'm waiting forever. For everything. What would take maybe 45mins to eat somewhere else, this place takes about 2hrs. At night it's even worse. To top it off whoever is the cook at night should get a new job. Robert's Birthday Breakfast. He had the Birthday freeebie Grand Slam and I had the Hobbit Hole special (Eggs in a window). He was pleased with his food, but I lowered one star because my eggs were cooked to the point of being hard boiled and I would have returned them, but then Robert would have been eating without me and then I would have been eating without him but making him wait at the table for me to finish, not a great option (also, I was hungry and did not want to wait for them to correctly cook the eggs). Server was very good and held the Grand Slam pancakes until later so that Robert could enjoy them HOT after the eggs, sausage and hash browns (which they cooked extra crispy as requested!). read more

It was Ok . The food was good but the service was spotty. The cashier / Greeter was really nice but our waitress was not personable and acted like she didn't care. I had to ask for a booster seat 3 times and a glass of water 2 times. When our food came out it did not come out all at once! My husband had to wait an extra 7 minutes for his burger to come out and when it did the waitress blamed the kitchen staff for not making it properly and saying that they do this all the time. That's fine if that was the reason but don't throw your fellow workers under the bus!. I may try this location again but not for awhile. read more

Dennys is either a hit or miss when it comes to the food or the service. This location is pretty good for both. After leaving Black Bear Diner irritated having to wait to be seated it was such a pleasure to be seated less than a minute when we walked in. Top it off, there were more people here than Black Bear. Server Daisy was very efficient and cordial as she waited on us right away. Very attentive. Received our food less than 10 minutes after order. Wow! That was fast. My sister got the ultimate skillet and it looked oh so good. It did taste as good as it looked. Loved my hash browns esp since the ly were served crispy like I like it. She brought extra syrup when she served our pancakes also. We scarfed down the food so quick ... quicker than writing this review. Gotta stop now and take a bite out of my grand slamwich. I did give this Denny's, 5 stars initially, now I give them 3. Since the manager Felix, went to another location, this place is failing fast, and desperately needs a good manager, as I don't think they even have one. The waitresses are all still great, but they only have one in at 4:00 pm on Sunday afternoons, and one that is there to help, but she is off, trying to do her side work, wants to leave, but she stays there, to help out because patrons have been flowing in lately at 4:00, and not enough people to serve them. I can hear other patrons complaining about it. And they always have the A/C on, and it's always warmer outside than inside. Customers, do not want to be cold, when trying to enjoy their Sunday supper, when they finally do get their order taken, and get served. It is really a shame, that Felix left the scene. Wise up Denny's, and consider your patrons. read more

Service started out great, Vicente was friendly and attentive. Once our food came, though, he never came back. He was at the cash register doing his bank and I hope taking care of other customers. Then when the second server came on, we flagged her down and asked for our server. I let her know we had not seen out server in over 20 minutes. I was not rude or combative about it, just factual. Her response was that he was busy and he was the only server on. Well he certainly wasn't busy taking care if us! She got us the two additional drinks we asked for and then we watched her continue to take care of the tables around us but totally ignore us even though she had two tables directly adjacent to ours. Vicente went to the back with his bank, and then when he came out a bit later, he asked, while passing by (not stopping) if we needed anything. Yes, I said, may he have water refills, another coke, and two more hot chocolates? Upon hearing this, I clearly saw the female server roll her eyes. As he handed me my coke, it dripped all over papers we had on the table. What's with the handing stuff to the customer across the table? He then disappeared again. We had to flag the female server to get the check. I wish I knew her name, but she wasn't wearing a name tag. Both servers were doing things that were keeping them from providing service: bank, side work, stocking. Maybe our check wasn't big enough to merit attention? We weren't rude, obnoxious, loud, ghetto, young, or any of the things that usually cause servers to give crappy service, so I don't know what it was, but it was unacceptable. The female server tried to rally by being polite as we paid the check, but it was too late. I didn't stiff them on the tip, but I sure was tempted. I'm not expecting 5 star service at a Denny's, but when all we are looking for is to keep our drinks refilled once or twice, I don't think it's too much to ask. read more

I stopped in tonight to Denny's off of Bellflower in Long Beach and I received excellent service!!! I have over 25 years in the industry and with that said...I feel it is absolutely necessary to let everyone know that DARA was amazing!!! She was spot on from start to finish! We were welcomed with a warm and friendly greeting! She was extremely knowledgeable about certain dishes I asked about! Great suggestions! I've lived in the area for years and have come here just as long. Recently the food has been going downhill. Today when I went in for breakfast I got an ultimate omlette and it wasn't even an omlette anymore. A folded piece of egg with fajita insides. Burnt and soggy with oil. I guess the pictures changed with the item cooking recipe as well. Which is fine and I accepted it. But honestly was the worst plate of food I have ever received at any dennys. Hopefully the laughing staff will step up their game soon. I'm sure the pancakes are great though! read more

Terrible Terrible service. The server forgot our food, when he finally left it at our table he forgot to leave straws or silverware. He NEVER checked up on us and honestly looked scared to even speak. Behind us a group of teenagers started fighting each other and the manager did close to nothing to diffuse the situation. He looked scared of those punks. It went on for almost 10 minutes before he even said anything to begin with. Definitely NOT someplace I would feel safe coming back to. I like this Denny's location the best. They have good service and I love when Dara is there. The food is good and affordable. However, I will not go back here because I got food poisoning. I ate breakfast with my sisters and there was some special going on so we got our food for cheap. The next day I had to leave work early because I felt very sick and I didn't know what was wrong until both of my sisters were getting sick too with the same symptoms as me so we knew for sure it was because of Denny's. We recovered two days later but it was a horrible time for all of us. I do not want another repeat of that so I've been avoiding this place. read more

The area is a very comfortable location, free without worry. The food is amazing. I had the smaug burger in light of the new Hobbit movie. Lots of fried jalapenos that I could even share with my friends. Food was amazing and the customer service was spectacular. Dara was an amazingly friendly waitress and Diane was extremely quick. Don't waste your money. Ruben was are server and.... omg, it was bad. My husband food came out first, 15 mins later our did (now his was cold) , my order was wrong, which is not a big deal I'll deal with it. He forgot my toast, but he said he would bring it right out...I never revived my toast, and my girls never got their drinks... ever. Throughout the entire meal we all shared my drink.... kind of gross. I think after Ruben half a$$ed served us, I think he went on break. We never saw him again, we had to keep asking other servers to find him, but he never came out. We had to wait 20 mins to get our bill... again... save ur money. When this site first opened we would take our gentle, leashed dog and have breakfast on the patio. Although we ate other meals there too, we often found the food lacking a little, but tolerable. The wait staff was slow and a bit on the stupid side. Breakfast dishes were harder to screw up and the quality was acceptable and the time out with our dog made it agreeable. We had asked if a dog could dine on the patio and had been cheerfully told "yes" by the manager. We always picked a time that was before or after the regular breakfast crowd and we were often only one of 2-3 tables occupied. Because we love our dog, we always chose a table that was at the edge of the patio and placed her on the outside of the table so that the server and other diners never had to come in contact with her. We did this for her own safety, to keep her from being stepped on, but it also allowed us to respect the other diners and servers. We always ordered her a breakfast too, eggs and meat. After 6 months of weekly dining we were refused a table one morning by a new manager with a very nasty attitude and have not been back since. Last week I was ill and wanted a grilled cheese. To make it easy I told my husband he could just go around the corner to Denny's. What a waste of time and money! The cheese only covered 2/3 of the bread was not even melted! Really, how hard is it to make a grilled cheese? To top it off is came with tomatoes inside, something I would have liked if my stomach felt better. But who puts tomatoes on a grilled cheese as a regular procedure? The fries were undercooked and cold. Everything came in HUGE plastic containers. You could have put at least 4 orders in one container! What a waste! Bottom line, this place can't even make a simple grilled cheese! When the food is bad, the wait staff rude and the only other redeeming aspect now denied; why would anyone eat there? Studying at CSULB? ditch Denny's try the Best Place Cafe. Most dishes are very good (although I don't like the beef dip sauce), prices are reasonable, drinks bottomless and the staff is pleasant. There are free veggie nibbles at the counter too! Between regular meal times you might be the only table in the place! Rascal's is also very good and for good Italian try the Deli News, great pizza and subs!....again nice people, good food, good prices! read more

Then they slap the food on the table and walk away. Very rude. I don't know what happened the servers that used to work there but the new staff sucks. At least act like you love your job! read more

I took my nephew and niece to breakfast this morning for my nephew's birthday. They both ordered chocolate chip pancakes, along with bacon and sausage. The kids loved the chocolate chip pancakes, but the bacon went uneaten because it was pretty limp and soggy. I ordered the All-American slam, and it was fine. What really stood out was the service we received from Dara, one of the servers. She made a big deal over my nephew's birthday, making him feel like he was king for a day. She also brought one of the other waitresses over and they sang happy birthday to him when they served him his breakfast. Dara went out of her way to be kind to the children, and couldn't have been sweeter if she had tried. Let's face it, Denny's is not a place you come for gourmet dining, but everyday food is always a little better when it's served by someone as sweet and caring as this woman was.
