Was charged for my order and never received it will never order from Denny's again One of the worst experiences I have ever had

Horrible service. Not once did our waiter come to refill our coffee mugs and to top it all off they lost our order after waiting 30 minutes. I'm guessing the mishap was too much for our original waiter so a new waiter had to come and take our order again. And still no coffee refill after we asked. read more

Very disappointing. They were behind in the kitchen and told us it would be a 15 minute wait. We asked to wait at an empty table, but were told no. We were to wait 15 minutes on the bench, then get seated and wait another 15 minutes at the table. Very rude and unaccommodating. The reception lady was rude. food was bad. When we entered the restaurant, there were a group in front of us and since we don't see a log book, we tell the lady at reception that we're party of 3, but she said the group in front of us was here first, we try to explain to her that we know but we just try to let she know we are party of 3, but she still repeat "They were here first." Don't understand why she keep saying that, we weren't demanding a table !? We got seated a moment later, order 4 items from the menu, but the food took almost half an hour to the table and the waitress still miss our order of nacho which took another 15 minutes. yet the fired chicken too dry and too salty, nacho look like a mess..... Will advice all friends to avoid this restaurant when visit in Monterey Bay for late night food. read more

Terrible service. No one greets you when you enter. They couldn't give me a time frame for the wait. Ended up leaving.

I have been in this mostly empty Denny's for the last 90 minutes. It took 15 minutes to be asked what I wanted to drink. Another hour to actually get said drink ( a glass of chocolate milk), and they let us know they were just getting started on our meals. Again... 90 minutes in to this dining experience. Could not recommend this Denny's to my worst enemy. If the manager is scrolling through these reviews right now... we're in the corner booth right now. Please bring us our food. read more

I would have given a minus rating if I could! We were back from a roadtrip and chose to go to Denny's as most restaurants were closed. When we were taken to the table, the seats and table were wet after being cleaned. The short waitress with blue streaks did clean the table after I pointed out the water and promptly hurried away. Next, we were kept waiting for half an hour after being seated and the waitress didn't even bother to check at our table for water and food. She made no eye contact with us either or apologize in case there was a rush. She attended to some people who arrived after us, and they were served food. We left the restaurant after 30 mins and she didn't even notice. Please do not come here, people here aren't trained well. Worst experience ever at Denny's!! . read more

Simply uncleanliness, dirty floors, waiting times for breakfast too long considering sitting next to kitchen. Kitchen staff has no communication with the kitchen. Waiting staff take on to many tables allowing food to get cold or be taken to another table. Half orders sent to table waiting 5 minutes plus for remaining order. No one is assigned to specific stations and waiting to pay the bill. Uneven tables, dirty towels in cleaning tables. Board of health needs to close this restaurant for health reasons. read more

2 of us arrived at 8:30 a.m. & waited 10" to be seated while 2 parties paid their checks, then waited 15" for coffee. Another party seated AFTER we arrived had their order taken before us. We noted a faint unpleasant odor, couldn't identify with masks on, later when leaving my husband identified the origin coming from the men's restroom, said it smelled like raw sewage & the odor was drifting into the restaurant. read more

First off I ordered off of DoorDash. The easiest way to see the menu and the easiest way for the workers to get the orders right. Not only did it take them an extra 35 minutes to get my order to me, but I stood there asking for help that whole time and nobody could give me a simple answer. After the long wait and horrible customer service, I look in my bag and they put the completely wrong burger order. If you're in Monterey and need a place to eat when everywhere is closed, please go to the other one. This place is not worth the wait and for sure not worth your money. read more

Went in for Breakfast with a few coworkers we all order omelets. Our server (Edith) brought the food my plate missing. I ask her she said that the cook is working on it. She never came back to check on us or anything (I'm still waiting on my food). My coworkers half way done already I go up to the front as the server if my food was done. She had then told me the cook was barley starting on it. Told her to cancel it as I had to be back at work. All she said was " I'm sorry about that" very sarcastically and rude. All around bad experience. And I come to Dennys weekly during the evening shift and never had any issues. They are amazing! read more

5 Stars for Dennys? Read on...............Typical story for Denny's - wasn't headed there, but ended up there. Lucky us! The staff was extremely happy, efficient and responsive. One can always tell when the management is tops - asked for the Manager (Justin Rea) and thanked him personally. The food was tasty, hot and delivered quickly to us and everyone around us. Too bad that old reviews don't lose their weight with age. Seems like Denny's (300 Fremont Street according to his card) is doing it right. read more

The service was fine (and quick at 4:30 on a Sunday the morning), which you'd think is all there is to review about a Denny's because, c'mon, it's a Denny's. They're supposed to be the same everywhere. But one thing did make this place stand out - looks like a saturday night tornado went through it. There was paper and napkins and things everywhere. Wandering drunk zombies returning home from the bars perhaps? Weird. But also funny. You need to work on your cleaning, but with the cheerful dark-of-the-morning service it evens out. read more

We woke up late this morning, and didn't want to deal with a more formal breakfast - we were in a hurry to get to Concours, and wanted a basic dash and go...but quasi-real food. So Denny's was a few blocks away, and we made the call. I admit, I haven't been in one in 15 years - that said, NOTHING has changed. Same menu, same waitress cloned (no matter what Denny's you go into in the morning, it's always the same somewhat overweight middle-aged woman who clearly doesn't appreciate her employment status). But the coffee was good, the oj was real, the eggs were good, the toast was cold (a Denny's requirement, from what I remember), the sausage was microwaved frozen Jimmy Dean, and the price was exactly what I'd expect to pay. So if you're starving, need real (albeit basic) food at 8am on a Sunday morning, you simply won't go wrong with Denny's. read more

Food was good and hot . they packed everything for our togo order with everything included napkins forks jelly butter everything was very nicely done. We had the lumber jack slam . the eggs were perfect most time they are not done right. Hash browns just a little under done but the pancakes were very good. read more

I had breakfast here on July 12, 2019. Our group ordered the banana chocolate crepe. The cream was perfect. I've eaten at the Dennys in Oakhurst, Ca and they filled the crepe with icing and it was greasy. The breakfast was returned. They definitely know how to make them here. Our group also ordered the double berry pancake breakfast and it was delicious. Our server Mauro R was very attentive. Excellent service. We will be back next time were in Monterey. read more

The location across the street from the hotel we stayed at is why we came here for breakfast. The service was S-L-O-W. The kids loved their meals, but the wait time to be seated, order, and get the bill was over an hour for a quick breakfast! I'd highly recommend visiting the cafe next door where prices are higher, but the organic food & service will be better! read more

Walked in, they had 4, maybe 5 other people waiting & the waitress jus totally ignored everyone. First she goes to bathroom for 10 minutes, comes out & walks behind the counter, looking AWAY from her waiting customers & proceeds to other end of restaurant. Homeless guy walks in, throws this stuff down near table she was at & asked for glass of water which she did. At that point, I'm like "screw this place". Didn't even acknowledge her waiting PAYING customers. So I asked her loudly, "Are going to help your customers", which got me a rapid-fire response in Spanish. Denny's on N. Fremont. I must say the place was super clean, many tables are removed but we choose to sit in a booth. Our waitress was wearing a mask & very clear about how mask wearing goes inside. Like you don't wear it when your eating but if you get up to use the restroom or move around you must put it back on. She was really very nice. My burger was good! We sat for 20 minutes until we finally ASKED for service, then waited an hour before food arrived. There were only 3 other tables seated at the time and 4 servers 1 hostess ans 2 cooks. One cook out of uniform with an uncovered beard and jewelry on, and someone serving with their purse still around their shoulder. Our food arrived about an hour after we ordered some cold and others burnt. My food wasnt even made to order. Then waited 20 minutes after my family was done eating to eat my food. Then we all got stomach aches before we left. We all live in seperate homes so it definetly came from the restaurant. Then the bathroom has no TP and one toilet clogged. I was sitting in this dennys waiting to be served while our waitress ignored the people waiting at the counter and waiting to pay while she went back to the kitchen to talk badly about all the people who were in there that she decided to not give attention to. At one point I was looking in the kitchen and a cook winked and waved at me. I understand that the drunk people going in to this dennys could be trying to the patience but I am someone who works in the business downtown and was just wanting to be able to sit down and eat a meal after working a long shift. DO NOT GO HERE. The bathroom was disgusting and I probably tripped over a creature on my way. This Dennys could make SO much money. It is a GOLD MINE if anyone gave enough care to take time in earning it. read more
