The brisket was flavorful and tender. Sandwich was perfectly toasted. Tried fried potatoes instead of fries and they were very good. Perfectly crispy and a good portion. My daughter loved the birthday sprinkle pancakes and sausage. We also got coffee and hot chocolate, both were fresh and hot. The server really made her feel special, which made my momma heart happy. She was happy to add the sprinkles and whip cream my daughter requested on her hot chocolate. It was also very clean. Even the entry way carpets were spotless! As we head to Duluth we always stop at Denny's Northbranch - always good food and great service. This time I was playing the claw machines - as I always do - and I overheard a couple employees talking about their pay checks bouncing and that this wasnt their first time. They said they didnt know what to do, they even said they heard the dishwasher had his check bounce too. I am concerned if this is happening why and what is wrong that they are bouncing. This is wrong and should never happen. Denny's we pay our bill everytime we eat there and that means that your employees should be getting their paychecks too and NOT bouncing. I took my kids out for lunch. They ordered the kids pancakes and sausage and bacon. Their meals arrived fast and hot. The sausage was cooked perfectly and so was the bacon. I ordered the nachos and although it came hot and was ok I would skip ordering these again due to not enough meat and it really lacked flavor. We will return and order items from their menu that fit their brand like breakfast and burgers. Our server was friendly and never let our drinks go dry. read more

We enjoyed our meal at Denny's in North Branch. The service was great. Because I am gluten free, I was given fruit and hash browns instead of the pancakes. The ambiance was great with a 70's style. Not that anyone cares. The north branch location has horrible curbside service. I have been here multiple times . No dedicated parking for curbside, servers dont watch for customers, phone doesn't work it goes straight to a fast busy sound meaning phone is not in service. Same issue every time I go. Rating should be 2 stars, but giving 3 stars only because of our server, Brenda. We stopped here for breakfast on our way to International Falls, MN. It was right after their breakfast rush and tables still needed cleared. Short staffing is an issue across the nation and it is the same story here. The manager and cooks were loud and grumpy. Thankfully, we had a friendly, hard working waitress, named Brenda. She smiled even though the other staff working , were grumbling and complaining about customers, each other and food order mixups. These are challenging times for restaurants. We waited a bit for our food, but it came and was fine. It's typical Denny's food. The classic diner style is nice, but this one could use some TLC and repairs. Restroom fixtures were broken and sitting on the floor. I do feel staff were overwhelmed and stressed. read more

I liked the Dinner look at this location. We were great as soon as we walked in and seated. Service was very Fast and even more Friendly. Like most places today they were shorthanded with only 2 ladies working the whole dinning room area. But they sure were husseling and did a outstanding job. I couldn't have been happier with the service. FOOD. I hadn't eaten in a Denny's in 10+ year, maybe 20. We went because my granddaughters choice. Menu hadn't seemed to change. And the food was ok, at best. Nothing was bad but also nothing makes me want to return anytime soon. It did seem popular with the locals giving them a nice place to gather. Will I return? Please get this place better staffed. I'm not from Minnesota and have been visiting family. I have noticed everyone is SO nice here. But that did not apply to anyone in this Dennys. Almost all the staff were pissed off, and especially our server. They were all very condescending. I know people have their bad days as well, but I assume it's a staffing issue as there was one server working the entirety of the right side of the building. She was overwhelmed clearly which led to her comments sounding so rude. I know food is not their fault either, but it was so plain and boring. Pretty cold too. read more

We get that staffing is an issue, giving them 2 stars for just being open. That said, the food was decent but the rest failed big time. The bathrooms were horrific. Stains, filth, stench and just overall gross. No way anyone cleaned for months. Service was slow because the server was more concerned to chat with his friends that were there in a corner table. Friendly enough when dealing with us, but was hard to even get his attention for the simplest things. Best Denny's in the area for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desserts. One of my go to places for quality American food in North Branch.

Just because it was designed to be a classic diner, doesn't mean it has to feature classic filth. We did manage to get our drinks but the waiter was far too busy chatting with the busboy to get crayons for the kids menus or take our orders regardless of how often we asked. On our way out, without ordering I stopped to pay for our three drinks and took a look at the kitchen. I'm sure it's warm in there, but the greasy dust covered fan blowing at the food could only have been more gross if dead vermin were somehow involved. The floor was greasy to the point of a visible film and there were bits of miscellaneous food here and there, probably dropped into that disgusting fan. So glad the service was horrid, saved us from potential food poisoning. So sad. read more

Their hiring pool is thin up here in North Branch, so service suffers now and then, food is usually the same. Removed my previous review because I was waiting on a response from corporate. Well, Sonya from corporate called me and left a voicemail. I called her back twice and left all my info on her voicemail, and have never heard back. So it seems upper management is at about the same level of service as everything else here. The staff have no direction, the food will be cold, you will be ignored. The building is so dirty it should be bulldozed. You'd be better off going to eat at the gas station. This has been a consistanly good spot for breakfast over the years. I've always been seated on the North side and just now wonder if the other side is where the waitress with senority is always stationed and where the regulars go or they just fill it first, hmm?
