Thank goodness for Denny's at 3AM on a long road trip. This place was DEAD when we arrived; no one else but us three were there, lol. The location is pretty sizeable with lots of tables and chairs, especially for one that's connected to a gas station rather than being its own building. The single waitress looked incredibly bored, unsurprisingly. She was attentive to us while we were there though. Our food took a little longer to get to us after ordering than I'm used to, but I'd bet the time of night was to blame for that. No biggie. We weren't able to order milkshakes apparently due to the time of night. I decided to try one of their silly promotional items off the He-Man menu that they were advertising everywhere. The pancakes with the mint chocolate chip ice cream on top. It was actually pretty good. Also affordable; gotta love Denny's on the affordability scale! Especially in our current economy. Very few places you can still eat out and not feel the pinch. In the lobby there's a bunch of crane machines for plushies and toys, as well as a mural welcoming you to Oak Creek Wisconsin that makes for a silly photo op if you wanna document your road trip journey. I spent Christmas here! Sounds weird but I really did. Traveling for the holidays with my family, we spent the night a the Love's station attached to this Denny's. The Christmas hours for Denny's were 6am-10pm and they were busy the entire time. Travelers and locals were here ready to dine. I enjoyed my breakfast which I ordered to go and ate in the truck. We went back for dinner and had more breakfast, with leftovers to take with me. Please note that skillets are not available on Christmas; there's a holiday menu! The pace of this place was incredible. I people watched and everyone was happy dining here. It was clean and welcoming. Loved the staff, all were so patient and polite. I'd highly recommend this Dennys location. read more

#48/2024 Been about couple years since I came here. Walking in I was greeted immediately and seated. I came in first for breakfast. waitress was very nice. Got coffee. Decide to order the everyday value slam $6.99 on the value menu Instead of four pieces of meat you get to but it was fine. I had the brioche French toast which they now have instead of standard bread it was very good. Egg soft scrambled and the bacon. One thing I noticed about here still so I'm not changing my review it is definitely above average this is a very good Denny's it's 24 hours still not many are but they are. A very very large dining room that's one thing that hasn't changed since the flying J days because this virtually was one of their restaurants. So I had my breakfast enjoyed it actually it was more brunch but still. So I end up getting stuck here and decided I'll come back in and have dinner. It's the holiday season this after turkey day so they still have the Thanksgiving specials. I had the delicious oven roasted sliced turkey no dressing of course with mashed potatoes Red skins and gravy on both turkey gravy of course! And instead of the broccoli I had the herb corn. Also ask for some extra cranberry sauce and she brought a couple extra little serving cups and it was cold that makes a big difference. And I had a Coke zero. I was very impressed by everything the food was great nice and hot like it should be cranberry sauce nice and cold. If I'm up here around the Milwaukee area I may be stopping in here more often although parking can be a little tricky if you get here too late. I got here early I was able to secure a decent spot. I ask for my hash browns to be crispy because the last time I was there they were raw. Again they weren't crispy. The bacon was raw not cooked long enough. And their sausage tasted like cleaner. Like they were sprayed with cleaner. I will not be back. Horrible experience. read more

I'm a truck driver now their incompetence to take an order has delayed me.. oh since it's raining and snowing I couldn't get my little rewards card for cdl drivers and they didn't give us the drivers discount. Once a month or so I allow myself a high fat, high cholesterol, no fiber American truck stop breakfast because I don't smoke cigarettes or shoot heroin and a man's gotta do something risky once in a while or life is too boring. There is no other reason to come to Denny's even though there are other menu items besides breakfast. Ignore them. Ate here twice this week with my husband.. this is a very good Denny's location. We travel al around the US and have had our fair share of Denny's stops. The chef and employees at this one are what make it so great. All of our meals were ridiculously perfect. Have gone to dennys countless times for alittle late night snack, but they are so stupid and closed even though website says till 1am 12am or even 11pm always seems to be F-ing closed. Absolutely the worse Denny's I have EVER eaten at. Started off with menus pages on both our menus sticking together. I ordered my eggs over medium. They were barely over easy-super runny. My fruit bowl had over ripen grapes and mushy cantaloupe. My husband's bacon was all fat. Hash browns and pancakes both were cold. Butter would not even melt on pancakes. My girlfriend and I sometimes come here for fourth meal. Food is Dennys; it's the same everywhere. However the service here is what sets it apart from all the other Dennys. Sometimes you get a great server, and sometimes you get a terrible server. I regret not getting his name, but we once had a nice young man who busted his hump to make sure we had a pleasant time. Fast, courteous, attentive, but not over-bearing. Just perfect. However, for all the good servers out there, there are bad ones. We had a waitress - let's call her Suzi, since that is her name - that had a terrible "I wish you weren't here" attitude and wasn't attentive at all (My drink sat empty ever since my entree was brought out - even after asking). If I could give 0 stars I would. It has been awhile since I had Denny's. My last experience was terrible but I figured this is a different location and maybe things would be better. Boy was I wrong. I waited 5 minutes to be seated and 10 minutes before anyone acknowledge I was seated in the booth. When I said something there excuse was we only have two people. Ok I understand today. But then I waited 45 minutes for my food and it was over cold. There were people who came in after me that got their meals long before I did. Now it's been about 15 minutes that I'm done eating and am still b waiting for the moron to bring my check. This is rediculous. This is the last time I will be here. This was our first visit here and my husband and I were very impressed with everything, from the hand sanitizer at the entrance to the cleanliness of the restaurant. We had prompt service from our waitress (Linda V). Our food was hot and delicious. We both had skillets . I noticed a sink station behind the serving counter and the mgr said they had several of them. This is at a Loves truck stop so was nice to browse thru all the guy stuff. Would make a great place to go for that "different" gift for the guys on your gift list. I read some of the negative reports on here and it is hard to imagine. When you go to Denny's you know whAt to expect, consistency. I live so close that we go here at least once a month purely out of convenience. We used to not have to think twice about stopping in, but now it's such a toss up. About two months ago we had a server and the service was unbelievably poor. We went back had our favorite male server and the service was impeccable (certainly better than you'd expect at a low cost chain). Sad! Thought this Denny's would be better since it was in an area where we'd had decent service from other businesses. Unfortunately, it was hit or miss service. There was one nice girl, but she came on shift as we were leaving. Slow greeting= doesn't care about customer, doesn't care to have business, honestly makes you want to walk away as soon as you arrived. Even if you're busy, you can see what's going on & offer a 'We'll be right with you.' Waitress was not nice. Did the basics of her job, but stopped talking to us until it was time to fill out the tip! So rude! Makes it real pleasant to sit there (& in the back of your head you want a to go box immediately). SO, I go here occasionally semi daily. Well lately the Service has gone to hell. Today, 09/09/2012, I was there at 3pm thru 4:50pm, There were 5 people in the place. My order came in a reasonable time. Then my waitress just ignored me. And not just me, there were 4 other tables with people at them, and other than getting their food, the staff hardly interacted with the customers. I was waiting for a coffee refill, and I finally grabbed a waitress passing by ans asked after 15 minutes of waiting to see just how long it might take. This location is a LOVE'S travel Plaza, actually a truck stop. Well towards the end of my visit, I received just one coffee refill, I had to beg for, the food was good, but luke warm. There was a Manager on duty talking to another customer and I think applicants. I found out later, through Loves staff, that there was also an assistant manager, a training manager and 2 waitresses. One would never know it, because they were in the back all the time I was there, except for an occasional food delivery and plate pick-up, but not to check on customers. When I left, I stood at the register for 5 minutes, it seems all the staff was outside either smoking or gabbing with the Manager, Assistant manage, trainee and waitresses. I am so sorry I expected some HOSPITALITY and a drink refill. Perhaps they ought to make the drink service SELF SERVICE, and the way it was today, FOOD could have slef service too, then the staff wouldn't look so imposed upon. I think today, and not just here, restaurants and stores forget, they are there to SERVE their customers, the people PAYING the bills and salaries. I know these jobs can wear on you, but come on, you hate your job that much, stay in BED! Lately, this DENNY'S has just plain POOR SERVICE. Staff acts like you're an imposition. But this has just been getting worse. If you decide to go, ask for Stella, at least she's awake and on the ball. You have to get there in the morning though, that's when she works.
