I had asked ( I believe her name was Britney) he's was running around like a chicken with its head cut off (sorry to say it like this). We were the only ones there when we arrived at 5:30 pm on Sunday, and the restaurant was not clean, dirty tables, dish bins in the serving area, ants on the booth they tried to sit us in! Even when we paid, greasy dirty finger prints on the counter. My burger was good, no complaints, but my daughter's chicken tenders were way overcooked. The mac and cheese was excellent though. The lady on shift this morning I believe Laura who claims she's the manager (but I've never seen her before this week) has an awful attitude she sent all her employees home and then it got busy and it took almost 30 minutes for our food to come out and it was just sitting in the window the whole time. If a manager can't handle a restaurant by herself maybe she should have kept some of her staff. Also I thought Denny's managers weren't allowed to steal tips and tables from their staff who probably need it more. I would rate the night shift workers as great. They work their butts off! Evenings get busy with the tourists but the Owners do not allow enough employees to work at night to take care of everything. Sunday night I was there and more than half of the tables were occupied but the Owners only had one waiter and a cook. That is terrible. (around 7 or 7:30 a second Server started working) The Server was working fast and hard to take care of all the tables. He is a great Server, friendly, knows what he is doing. I feel sorry for these employees. They are over worked and I'm sure under paid. The food is cooked well. So far everything I've ate was cooked well. We had breakfast here on our last day in Oakhurst. We had the sweetest waitress and the cook did a great job in preparing our orders. Everything was delivered piping hot and it was delicious. All I wanted was eggs and toast, which would've cost about $10 à la cart and the waitress pointed out that I could get the egg and toast meal, which came with hashbrowns for five dollars. She didn't have to do that, but she was thoughtful and helpful and I appreciated it. The other fun thing was she misheard my husband when he ordered the T-bone steak breakfast and she brought him the sirloin steak breakfast. He said he would've ordered that, but he thought it was more expensive. She misheard him and brought him the sirloin steak and apologize but said it was actually less expensive and it was her favorite between the two. He enjoyed his breakfast very much and this wonderful lady helped to keep our cost down during our trip. I would recommend coming here. We only had breakfast, but I'm sure their other meal times are just as good. There's a nice variety on the menu and it would seem that everyone would be able to find what they would like. I had an Uber Eats order for desserts for one of each of the following (6 items): Lava cookie skillet Apple pie crisp Brownie sundae with Oreo pieces Strawberry shake Chocolate shake Oreo milkshake I tracked the driver so I know he was there exactly when the order was ready and came directly to our house to drop it off so the desserts looking like this was definitely not his fault. Food was good but took a while to come out, the men's bathroom is my main complaint. That is the worst smelling bathroom I have ever smells and it's not close. It don't think they have ever cleaned it based off the smell. It is far worse than any bar bathroom I've ever been to. Truly impressive that a restaurant bathroom can produce that smell. Well, we decided to give Denny's a try again for the first time in ten years, because of the flood of very good recent reviews that this location had received because they were "under new management." This business has occupied the old BJ's building for the last 6 years or so, and BJ's was okay so we decided what the heck? Anyway we've been sitting at our table for 30 minutes since ordering, tepid weak coffee to sip on in the meantime and making conversation about how nasty the floors under the tables are. Our server warned us there would be a long wait, because they had a few tables come in at once, but honestly, this place is empty. There's like four tables here. She told us "it's a kitchen problem" and that they "only have one cook." Well, none of that is our problem. Well, our food just showed up and I literally started laughing. The crepes were wadded up like discarded towels on the plate, and the greasy hash browns and eggs looked like they were thrown on from six feet away. The strawberries were ICE cold and they had to take them back and warm them. I should also mention we didn't have silverware at all and had to go find her to get them. My grand slam was pretty serviceable except for the bacon which tasted and looked like it had been sitting out for hours. The pancakes were great actually, lacking butter but nice and fluffy. The toppings for the crepes however were unbelievably sweet to the point of being almost inedible, the crepes themselves being a little on the tough side, but would have been fine except for the sweetness of the topping. All eggs were cooked well. In all I'd be probably give two stars, I'm giving one due to expectations from all the five star reviews, literally go anywhere else unless you want hangover food and you live nearby .I recommend Pete's place, which despite being poor after new management is still worlds better. Edit: we just got told we had to get up and pay up front lmao, because of cash back. I can't remember if this is a normal Denny's thing but it's ridiculous. read more

We went on 1/1/25 it was crowded, we got seated right away but it took our waiter about 30 min to even take our drink order we got water and since we waited so long we had looked at the menu so we were ready to order. So I ordered the turkey dinner and the waiter said oh yeah we are out of turkey gravy ,salmon,steak and wavy cut fries and something else . So they should have told us upon arrival they were out of all that. So I ordered the BLT slamwich with onion rings , my son got the fruit pancakes breakfast and asked to substitute the meat for fruit my grandson got some sampler with onion rings and mozzarella sticks and hubby got the grand slam and asked for tortillas on the side. We waited another 45 minutes for our food. He brought my grandsons first then about 20 min after that our food now here is my biggest issue the onion rings were so greasy yes I know there are deep fried but it was like they sat in oil and they tasted oily and like the grease hadn't been changed in a while , then he asked us was there anything else we said you forgot the tortillas and side of fruit he said ok I'll be right back with them. Then we seen him come out with plates of food and take them to another table and we waited and waited never got the tortillas or never got refills on our drinks. Now I'm taking in consideration that there was only three or 4 people working the floor and about three cooks. So they should let patrons know that 1. They were out of a lot of things 2. The wait time would be longer than normal 3. Make sure to check on your tables. We had a male waiter who didn't have a uniform on I think he might have not been working but maybe got called in or tried to help . My family and I came here to eat after a long day of hiking in Yosemite national park. When we got in, the entire place was empty and there was a man complaining about waiting, he was yelling then left, we assumed he was just angry and gave the restaurant the benefit of the doubt. After he left two more parties came in after us and then a bunch of people were waiting to pay, after 20 mins of waiting without being greeted or told there was a wait, some blonde/brown haired girl finally came out from the back and took care of the line waiting to pay and then we finally got seated. The parties behind us also got seated after us. After another 15 minutes of waiting the two parties that got seated AFTER US got their orders taken and even got their drinks even though no one had even bothered to take our drink orders, let alone our food order. I would not recommend this place. Wasted basically 40 minutes just to get terrible, if any, service at all. Even when we were leaving, another party was walking out as well after not getting helped at all either. Honestly ridiculous. We decided to purchase some Cinnamon Sugar Pancake Puppies we saw online. Despite it being years since we last ate at a Denny's, we thought, "Why not give it a try?" This review evaluates three categories: customer service, entertainment, and food. Customer service receives four stars due to communication and direction issues, although the entertainment aspect compensates for it. People-watching and observing the employees provided us with amusement during our 20-minute wait for these "Puppies." Upon finally receiving our order and returning to the hotel, we were in shock by what we found upon opening the container. Not too sure what we received but It left us imagining the state of the kitchen. Despite this, the experience gave us a good laugh, making the $6 spent worth it. It served as a reminder of why we don't choose Denny's. Customer service gets four stars, entertainment earns five, and the food receives zero.
