I hate chains, and Denny's is no exception; however, I found myself here past 2am and it was good, which means it was the best Denny's experience of my life. Food: My friend ordered a meat sandwich with fries; I ordered a healthy veggie skillet entree ... potatoes, bell peppers, broccoli, and egg whites, plus a side of avocado. It was perfectly seasoned, and came hot in a cast iron skillet. Perfect portion, generous fresh avocado, thank you! I added a little sriracha, and ate the whole thing even though I wasn't all that hungry. It was that good! Thanks, Bernice (I think that was the cook's name). Service: Maria was awesome. Friendly, timely, attentive, and pleasantly quirky, she joked along with us making it a fun experience. Our orders came out perfectly to our specifications and she accommodated our every request. Never coming here again. I only ordered one order of fries. When I get the fries I noticed that it was a very small portion. Super small portion. I eat at a lot Denny's all over the states. Never had any issues. I asked the waiter if this plate of fries look right to you? She replies, she says that they don't always follow the portion size.. She asked if I would like to talk to the manager or order another order of fries. So the manager Ryan comes over. I tell him that this plate of fries is very tiny. He says, no that's the right portion size. Ryan exact words is that the cooks measure them every time. Really? The waiter already said that they don't always follow the portion size. I didn't get more fries. Im really disappointed at this point because two mins later the people next to me get the same plate of fries but the plate is twice the size as mine. Really? Servers were friendly, manager was helpful. Given this is a popular pit stop along the 5 between LA and SD, it's very busy all the time. The service was pretty friendly when greeted and the manager thanked me when I asked him to have our horrifically dirty seating and under table area. Our server, however, was lazy when I asked her if they had crayons for my three young children. She said "ya they have them at the front". Not sure her name, but she had large round holes in her ears. Rude. What they called pizza on the menu, was absolutely gross. I am an American citizen and I don't appreciate foreign music blasting in the background. English is the universal business language, every country speaks it except for the assholes that move here. If I went to another country I would use my native tongue in my home, but I would be respectful enough to use the designated language of their country in public. I am tired of feeling like a foreigner in my own country and I was made to feel that I didn't belong. Nice music was playing and they blasted their Mexican crap over it creating noise. There was no options on the menu either. The food normally sucks at Denny's but taking away all of the options isn't right. All there was consisted of foul or fish unless you ordered a T-bone at a ridiculous price for the lack of quality or a sirloin steak which is just the nasty leftover meat that never tastes good. What can be said about a Denny's unless it sucks? This one is pretty much like the others, friendly wait staff, relatively quick food preparation and known quality. Had my standard scrambled eggs, bacon and hash browns. The coffee cup stayed full and the waitress was snarky, witty, yet quite pleasant. Do not come here I made the mistake and Came in to Denny's this morning with my 2 kiddos before school. Ordered at 8:02 didn't get my food until 8:38. I ordered 2 packages each for the kids and there sides and a meal for me. I explained the order was wrong and our waitress ROSIE was so rude and informed me I was wrong. After I asked her nicely to just allow us to eat she raised her voice so everyone around could here her and kept talking. I then just continued to eat my food. Then she walked back to the employee area and continued to talk to her co workers about the pancakes. Then I I realized there was hair in my food. Bread was burnt couldnt eat that and couldnt say anything because Rosie would just embarrass my family by talking loudly. Sad because my whole family are regular customers. My first experience with this Denny's was their grand reopening. We got free food and service was great! But I thought "Let's see how they do when they're not trying to show off!" came back many times since and EVERY time has been just as amazing =) The staff is friendly and we're usually there late at night. The Wait staff recognized me and my roommate since he always asks for his bacon to be basically charred till it's crying B-) If I were to give one general complaint about this location it would only be that at night the staff seems maybe a bit too relaxed as I've seen them talking to their friends who are sitting in stalls seemingly waiting for them to get off work. It doesn't bother me though since they're always aware of ME and asking if I need anything =) This Denny's is officially the 3rd closest to my house and when it's 1 in the morning and I'm tired It's STILL worth passing the other 2 on the way to this location. This used to be my husband and I's go to spot. Close to Camp Pendleton Base, good prices, pretty good food and service.... Well, not anymore. I went there Friday afternoon with my son and a friend. Things were fine until after the food came. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich which was supposed to have bacon on it. It did not come with bacon and my sons garlic bread that came with his spaghetti was burnt. The lettuce also wasn't the freshest. Plus, they claimed they did not have any ranch which they did not inform me about when asking about it when ordering. The waiter never checked up on us during the meal to see how things were going or refill our drinks until after the meal was over. After this displeasing dinning experience, the next morning all three of us woke up with diarrhea. My son was sick for three days after eating there. We will not be going back. read more

I've never had a problem at a Denny's, I usually go to the San Marcos or Vista location but since we were dropping of a friend we decided why not go to that one. When we got our drinks my friends drink had crumbs in it, but not a big deal I THOUGHT. She also orders a side of fries and gets like 10 fries. When I get my food I open my grilled cheese sandwich that has mozzarella sticks in it and see there's NO CHEESE in them ?? So I ask her "hey what happened to the cheese?" I get a "oh it must've fallen out I'll get you another one" whatever fine mistakes happen so I start eating my fries and there's chips in them??? What ? Why do my fries have chips? So I ask them and they said it must've been left on the fryer. So I ask her "so do you not clean it" and he goes "they're supposed to" what so they don't? They got me another batch of fries and everything was fine until we start eating them we see green crisps seaweed like bits in the fries. I've had it and I'm upset so I get up and show him "hey what's this" his response was "it's the potato skins" bull potato skins aren't green. I told him I just didn't want it anymore I was disgusted. When we all go pay I ask them about my check I get a "oh they're not charging you for it since you didn't like it " by another manager in the rudest tone. I am disgusted by the service and by the food it's obvious that it's not sanitary and Denny's should look into that. Never going back to this location. read more

Honestly this is the 3-4th time that I go here and every time we go here they have a sign to wait until a hostess seats you but, they seem to not have a hostess ever and the waitresses are just passing by without acknowledging you waiting at the front! Then once seated by a waitress who probably just didn't want to take care of us seats us in a place where we are not even acknowledged by our real server. After maybe 10-15 minutes each time I've gone they come and pretend like nothing happened. They proceed to come and tame the drink order when in all reality you are pretty much ready to order food. Once drinks are delivered to the table the waitress does not come back until food is here. They always seem to forget the extra sides. For example a side of fries, a side of toast! Also if you know we ordered fries or pancakes why not bring the ketchup and syrup all at once? When eating usually have to flag down our server for refills.... unacceptable. They also bring your check in the middle of your meal!? What if I wanted dessert or something? (This morning we were dinning in for brunch and the cleaning lady literally put a whole bottle of pinesol or fabuloso inside the moping water and started to Moo while we were dinning!) no wet signs anywhere! Great customer service at this location today! I believe our waitresses name was Terrah (or something similar- she had short black hair). We came in with a party of about 20 people after a big ceremony. We were sat quickly, all of our orders came out correctly and in a timely manner, she took time to split the checks, kept our drinks full, and overall provided great service. I live near this Dennys, and have never cared for their food. I went in after their recent grand re-opening hoping for the best. Sadly, I was terribly disappointed. Service was good and fast, but our food was really just not good. It was bland and mushy and everything looked way better on the menu than it did when it arrived at our table. I thought maybe a hot fudge brownie would turn my experience around.. boy was I wrong! Took a bite and found a not so hot brownie that was undercooked and pretty much inedible.
