Awful service. Stopped to get gas and we were hungry. Thought Dennys would be good but we were hoping to just eat and get back on the road since it was nearly 8pm. Sierra the waitress was taking the order at the table next to us. Then she stopped and got our drink order. Then about 20 minutes later realized she forgot to bring us our drinks. Still had not taken our food order. Finally got our food order. The table next to us got their food, ate all their food, talked while the little kids played, then left. We loved Denny's for breakfast until last Wednesday when we went to the Peculiar, MO. Dennys for breakfast instead of Perkins which we also love for breakfast. Neither of us like white bread. We usually order sour dough. My wife likes French toast made with sour dough and it's never been a problem until now. It seems that according to our waitress, Corporate has decided they will only have white bread, I guess to save money. Well, I'm sure it's going to cost them money in the long run in lost customers. So if you like wheat or sour dough, don't go to Denny's. From now on Perkins will get our breakfast dollars! read more

Wasn't pleased with this place. The waitress, Amanda, took her time to come to me. I was sitting at the counter. Came with the coffee and took my order. Omelet with mushrooms, tomatoes, and Swiss cheese. No potatoes but a side of the fruit bowl, sausage links, and English muffin. It wasn't too busy but the cook took way too long to get it done. Well Amanda disappeared so a different waitress gave me the food. I had to ask for the fruit bowl and sausage links again because Amanda didn't write it down. My wife and I stopped in on our way back to Iowa. We both got the fish platter and both chose the red skin potatoes as one of our sides. The potatoes were extremely salty and the fish was burnt brown in color. Our waitress said she would replace our potatoes. However, she said the fish was that dark due to the new oil they are using. My wife told her I owned restaurant and I told her the kind of oil did not make them look burnt. She did not offer to get us anything else or even the manager. So my grandpa and I pulled into get some food. We got our seats, everything was fine. We ordered our food. I got the Double Cheeseburger with Onion Rings and my grandpa got a Club Sandwich with the wavy-cut fries. When we got our food the first thing I did was put some ketchup on my plate and then picked up the burger. When I picked it up, there had to be at least a cup of grease that just dripped right off of it and onto the plate. I immediately put it done. I didn't eat one bite. I just decided to eat the onion rings but the thing with those was that they had to much breading and the onion wasn't cooked for very long so it was very "oniony" If we are being honest, I would never eat there again. Was wanting the chicken biscuit gravy bowl that I had just last month but they no longer have it. Just a month ago it was listed as "new" on the menu. Got the bargain slam eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage. They also gave me hotcakes, thought maybe I didn't read the menu right but they charged extra for them. The bacon and sausage was cold, even colder that the plate they were on, cold like the just came out of the frig. Wife ordered chicken tenders and fries, waitress said "comes with 2 sides what else", "fresh fruit" . was charged extra for the fruit. Chicken was over cooked. I've gotten a couple of burgers there. They were cold. The fries were cold too. I don't understand how you don't cook a fresh burger and drop some fries. I would give this Denny's a 0 star if I could. Our server was very polite and genuine. The sticky buns pancakes my boys ordered we're tasty as well, but those are about the only positives. We stood waiting to be seated for at least 10 minutes despite not having many patrons at the time. As we stood waiting we could hear every word the cook was yelling from the back and at one point he yelled to one of the servers, "that's not my job!" When one of them asked him to do something. I ordered the avocado club and it was the worst club sandwich I've ever had! Yucky Browning avocado, and one slice of meat with a few other toppings that weren't good including wilty lettuce. They had cold coffee we wanted hot coffee and my boots got wet bc they spit it cold coffee on them

My experience here differed from the others. Perhaps they are upping their game. A stuffed shirt and tied type was checking on tables. I walked in and plopped myself down at a conveniend booth and a waitress promptly took my order which included an egg over hard. I dont know how to explain this but will try. Im not a huge egg fan but this was the prettiest and best tasting egg I have ever been served, topped only by the one I grabbed from under a hen before the shell had a chance to harden after seeing her crouch in a corner of the barn and look like this @.@ It was perfectly cooked and the edges only slightly more done than the middle due to the thickness, yet so much the same that Im still puzzled how they did that. Not greasy yet not dry and the color - wow. An evenly balanced masterpiece of yellow and white, not like some places where they lump the yellow off to one side. Seriously, this egg could have easily been placed in an ad. It was so gorgeous I nommed it immediately and smack myself now for not taking a pic. Bad, bad me. Ok I just now found out the egg artist here is Christine. Management, if you are reading these things (we know you do) you need to give her an egg badge or something.
