Out of all waiters in this location I must say that Nicholas Ward definitely takes the cake on being the most reliable. As soon as we walked in he introduced us to our booth which was great because it gave each individual space to freely feel flexible I am thankful that if anyone were to step up to the plate (waiter joke) it was him. The restaurant looks very nice and lovely. Appears clean and well organized. The hostess that checked me out to pay my bill was very helpful and the order was accurate with all of the cutlery napkins And desired sauces. I'm very surprised. I ordered an every day value slam and it was great. The eggs were good the hashbrowns were nice and crispy the bacon was good and the sausage was good *pause* but on a real note I wanted to say that Leah provided excellent service she was constantly checking up on us and she even said "am I missing anything?" She made sure we had everything we needed she made sure she provided the best customer service and that's why I have to give this location a 5/5 thank you Leah for the good service I seriously appreciate it. First of all, I absolutely LOVE Dennys restaurants. I usually seek them out for a Grand Slam breakfast, solid (and consistent) coffee, and a gluten-free english muffin. The ambiance for a diner is like, wow. There is a fireplace (yeah, a freaking fireplace) and murals on the walls of the Poulsbo waterfront. The interior is all wood themed, and sorta reminded me of the inside of a ship. So very northwest! The food was GREAT and fast. They were out of gluten-free English muffins, so I knocked a star off, but truthfully, that is just me being picky. The server was super sweet and very attentive. She was a SUPER hard worker and was even hoping in the back to help in the kitchen. Our experience started with a smile, and the server kept our cups of coffee filled. Denny is a long-time staple for many of us. I had been going to Denny's for decades, and I always loved their pancakes in particular. In fact, it was the Grand Slam that was my favorite meal at Denny's.  In my younger days, I enjoyed the array of finger foods and midnight snack "quasi meals" after partying all night on the weekends and whenever else I could.  Anyway, it was interesting to realize that Denny's was going to be coming to Poulsbo.   Before the doors opened, there were a number of people who were poo pooing the idea that a Denny's would take over the newly vacant building. I think it was a smart move on the Denny's corporation part to put its restaurant there, as evidenced by me driving by just after the opening day and seeing so many people waiting in line to get in. I finally went for breakfast early in the morning a few days ago. There were just a few people in the restaurant. It was that early.  The best part about Denny's is that it is exactly what you expect as far as the look  feel and general ambiance.   The restaurant was clean and looked and smelled new.  The hosts and servers were attentive.  The only issue is that their technology wasn't working, and the checkout process took a really long time.  I wasn't exactly happy with that because I had to get my car to Bremerton for a service.  Their computer failure was chewing into my ability to get to the auto center on time.It truly required a bit of patience on my part, but we got through it.  Hey, what happened to the portion sizes at Denny's? I remember the pancakes were bigger and fluffier than the little pancakes that came with my meal. Seriously, they were really small compared to what Denny's used to put out for their Grand Slam breakfast. That was my first disappointment.  The eggs were fine.  Typical, slightly watery eggs, but they were OK. There are no other issues with them. The bacon was cooked well, but I got two small pieces.  It was almost as if they had cut a single  strip of bacon in half, giving me one piece of bacon instead of two.  I ordered ham because you could order items in the build your own Slam.  So I figured two of each: Bacon, ham, pancakes, and eggs would be my meal. Gosh, I missed the part that they were charging extra for the ham even though it was on the menu to build your Grand Slam. I was really shocked by the extra cost not because of how much it was but because it had the nerve to be on my tab.  I give Denny's an average rating primarily because they have shrunk the size of the pancakes, which, by the way, are still very tasty.  See, tasty but small and pricey, was a bit of salt in the wound. In summary, the bacon and pancakes were quite chensy in terms of portions. Otherwise, I say kudos to the staff. It's amazing that Denny's is in this town for a good and well-known breakfast spot that people recognize from all around the nation.  I am confident that when I have people coming visit, I can say:  Let's go to Denny's,  even in a town this small. read more

Two times I ate there, I got seriously ill. Bad meat? Food crosscontamination? I have allergies, but I told them what to avoid, and they assured me that they could do it... well, whatever it is, I won't be coming back! That's too bad because it's the only late night (24hrs a day, in fact!) offering in the broader Kitsap county area. A few people did start to come in and door dash were coming in as well. They let other people coming in know there was going to be a 15 minute wait on their order . Most were fine with it . Below Average Denny's Denny's is generally a known and "Usually Consistent" chain. Poulsbo franchise was well below par for dinner at 5:30 PM. No Hostess, 14-minute wait for menu, french fries were cold, had to search out a waitress for basic utensils. Poulsbo keeps "set ups" in a closed cabinet. Both of our hashbrowns were undercooked, which they did take off the bill when we mentioned it. I also never got my fruit which was part of my grand slam and the eggs were cooked in too much butter. On a busy day I decided to sit at the front counter at Denny's. Most of the time the servers are rushing around getting their orders in and out and the counter people sometimes has to wait until the other orders are delivered first. My server was a young lady named Nadia and she was excellent! Not once acted too busy to say a few friendly words but was friendly as well as professionally efficient as a server. I so want to like our local Denny's, and part of my gripe is with corporate. Today was my birthday, and they sent me an email to come in an order my free Everyday Value Slam. But I needed to sign into my account to get the QR code, and I get a message that they've updated their system, and I need to change my password. It's been two hours and I'm still waiting for my reset link. I go to the restaurant and get seated quickly, and get served coffee quickly. I tell the wait person that I may order something besides the Everyday Value slam. Then I wait - 30 minutes. Another person asks if I want a refill on my coffee. I say I'd like to order breakfast. Only four tables are occupied in the main dining room. My food arrives 5 minutes after ordering, but is lukewarm. Then, I wait another 20 minutes for my bill, after my dishes have been cleared away, and I had to ask for that. I realize the kitchen can have issues that I can't see as a customer, and I realize that was just a party of one, but no one should be ignored. read more

I normally never do reviews. Actually, I have never wrote one before. So this is your warning that this chain, specifically the Poulsbo Denny's was a terrible experience. My bf and I came specifically for the Veterans meal from 5 am- 12pm. We show up at noon but they make us wait 35 mins to get a seat. So by the time we get seated, we were no longer able to get the Veterans Day meal. Secondly, the waitress was subliminally ignorant and rude. We were really patient and very nice. We weren't given silverware but the worst part is THE DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER IMMEDIATELY MADE MY BF SICK. He became instantly nauseous, he has diarrhea from a few bites of meat, so I had to ask the waitress what kind of meat was served. She said snarky, "it's a cheeseburger". I said okay? So, is it beef? She replied with yes. It looked and smelled nothing like beef. It actually looked like a boiled questionable meat burger and felt like a grease ball. I wish we took a picture of it but my boyfriend wanted to leave really bad. He was sick and we were both annoyed with the service and the food. She gave us a 20% discount after I questioned about the meat, but honestly I just wanted to pay and leave. I hope no one else gets sick and has to deal with this crap. read more

I haven't been to a Denny's in (probably) 20 years. I stopped in at the Denny's in Poulsbo for breakfast and was quite disappointed in the food and the service. To start, I was seated with no greeting of "hi" or "welcome in" Just is this seat ok? I sat there for about 5 or 10 minutes before my server even came around to ask if I wanted something to drink. Of course I had been there long enough to read the menu front to back twice. He asked me If I was ready to order as well. I gave him my order and away he went. He brought my coffee and that was the last time he or anyone came over to check on me. I finished my coffee and just sat there being ignored. Mind you, when I showed up, there was maybe 6 customer cars in the parking lot. This place was not busy or packed in any way. About 25 minutes later, I got my food. That was the worst meal I've had in a very long time. The hashbrowns were less than luke warm, if there is a temperature between luke warm and cold. They weren't even browned at all! I ordered over easy eggs. The whites were undercooked leaving a lot of the egg snot as it is called. I was hungry so I chocked that down. After I received my food finally (served by someone else), i eventually got a second cup of coffee half way through my meal even though my cup was empty when I got my meal. By the time I left, there were less cars in the parking lot and less people in the restaurant. I will not be a patron in that establishment ever again. The 2 star is the bread was really good and they were open when no one else was because of the snow or lack there of. read more

I placed an order online and waited 35 mins before going to pick up the order for my daughter. When I arrived I was promptly greeted by a server, told them I'm here for my online order. Then the server proceeded to tell me it wasn't ready, I said ok. The restaurant had 4 or 5 people there that had been served already, and a moment later another worker came up and asked if I needed a table for 1. I said no I'm waiting on my online order, then the worker proceeded and asked my name and I told him, and he said I can't find it. Then another female worker came over and asked my name and asked to see my online order, well she said there wasn't an order for me. Then another male worker came over asked if I was waiting on a DoorDash order, I said no! I ordered online for my daughter, he then said it's the system, and said it would be ready in 5 mins. Well 15 minutes passed and my order wasn't ready. Finally another 5 minutes and it was ready... one worker put hash browns into the order to make up for my hour plus wait. Also the last man smelled marinated, probably shouldn't come to work after a long night of drinking, the smell was terrible. Also they didn't get the order correct, it was supposed to be 1 sausage and 1bacon, not just bacon. Eggs were supposed to be over medium, the whites were not cooked.
