Was nervous at first because all of the negative reviews but our hostess/waitress last night was very nice and the service was as g. . A few people did start to come in and door dash were coming in as well. They let other people coming in know there was going to be a 15 minute wait on their order . Most were fine with it . The food was great for Dennys. The inside was pretty nice too and clean. Saw one lady mad she had to "wait to pay so long" They literally have a QR code you can scan to pay . Or walk up front . lol it's Denny's , not a five star restaurant . You get what you pay for and it wasn't bad service or food at all. read more

I don't know what the deal is with this restaurant. We went there today and were told a 5 to 10 minute wait. 15 minutes later, we are still waiting, and there are so many empty tables! The first time we went there, the service was SOOO slow. And it wasn't busy. I will never be back to this establishment! read more

I haven't been to a Denny's in (probably) 20 years. I stopped in at the Denny's in Poulsbo for breakfast and was quite disappointed in the food and the service. To start, I was seated with no greeting of "hi" or "welcome in" Just is this seat ok? I sat there for about 5 or 10 minutes before my server even came around to ask if I wanted something to drink. Of course I had been there long enough to read the menu front to back twice. He asked me If I was ready to order as well. I gave him my order and away he went. He brought my coffee and that was the last time he or anyone came over to check on me. I finished my coffee and just sat there being ignored. Mind you, when I showed up, there was maybe 6 customer cars in the parking lot. This place was not busy or packed in any way. About 25 minutes later, I got my food. That was the worst meal I've had in a very long time. The hashbrowns were less than luke warm, if there is a temperature between luke warm and cold. They weren't even browned at all! I ordered over easy eggs. The whites were undercooked leaving a lot of the egg snot as it is called. I was hungry so I chocked that down. After I received my food finally (served by someone else), i eventually got a second cup of coffee half way through my meal even though my cup was empty when I got my meal. By the time I left, there were less cars in the parking lot and less people in the restaurant. I will not be a patron in that establishment ever again. Zero stars. Took my 3 kids here. Waitstaff was nice and the restaurant looked great but that's all the nice stuff I have to say. Scrambled eggs, tasted like fish. Nobody at our table ordered fish... country fried steak gravy tasted so strange that my son couldn't even eat it. I tasted it myself and couldn't even figure out what it was. Really horrible. My 8 year old spit his eggs back on top of the plate. Sausage didn't look cooked all the way. Asked for waters, never came. I honestly think they were super understaffed for a lunch rush. The waiters were both nice but definitely struggling. I usually really love Dennys but this one really just isn't good. read more

I placed an order online and waited 35 mins before going to pick up the order for my daughter. When I arrived I was promptly greeted by a server, told them I'm here for my online order. Then the server proceeded to tell me it wasn't ready, I said ok. The restaurant had 4 or 5 people there that had been served already, and a moment later another worker came up and asked if I needed a table for 1. I said no I'm waiting on my online order, then the worker proceeded and asked my name and I told him, and he said I can't find it. Then another female worker came over and asked my name and asked to see my online order, well she said there wasn't an order for me. Then another male worker came over asked if I was waiting on a DoorDash order, I said no! I ordered online for my daughter, he then said it's the system, and said it would be ready in 5 mins. Well 15 minutes passed and my order wasn't ready. Finally another 5 minutes and it was ready... one worker put hash browns into the order to make up for my hour plus wait. Also the last man smelled marinated, probably shouldn't come to work after a long night of drinking, the smell was terrible. Also they didn't get the order correct, it was supposed to be 1 sausage and 1bacon, not just bacon. Eggs were supposed to be over medium, the whites were not cooked. I'm on vacation visiting family and wanted to grab a quick breakfast. I came in here to place a order to go consisting of 1 'moons over my hammy' meal and I've been here now waiting 45 minutes and still haven't received my food, so finally I asked for a refund and left. I have eaten at Dennys across the country for years and found them to be consistently very good. But this business was my first disappointment. The sausage in my breakfast were the tiniest I've ever seen. The coffee cups were small and the server only poured 2/3 of a cup. The server never returned so I had to go up to the counter for a refill. This time she only poured 1/2 of a cup. They also charged $3.79 for the small cups of coffee. read more

Just enjoyed a Mens' Breakfast at Denny's with my church. Our Server Kelsey single-handedly took care of all 30 of us with efficiency, calm, and sweetness. Everyone was served quickly. All of our meals came out hot. My eggs were perfect, and Kelsey patiently handled us all with kindness and patience. Very impressive! Great job Denny's! read more

Service was so slow and poor. Was told twice "Just a minute' to be seated. Once seated we were handed off to a different waitress. Wait 10 + minutes for her to take drink order and we gave her our food order at the same time. Brought drinks out. Wait over 40 minutes only to be told that the computer glitched and our order was not sent to the kitchen had to wait another 10-15 minutes when we were the only table waiting for food. My husband's coffee was never asked to be refilled until we were getting up to leave he had to go find more napkins. Will not go back! read more

I'm 83 years old and I've been going to Denny's all my life. My wife and I just had the worst breakfast in our lives. She was feeling a little down so I told her I'd take her out to breakfast. I couldn't believe they would even have the audacity to serve us what they did. The hash browns were burnt to a crisp, the bacon was undercooked, and the ham was oversalted. We expressed our disappointment and the best they came up with was "sorry". Needless to say, we will never again eat at that Denny's restaurant. Yea so. I've tried contacting Dennys through their website and through Facebook and neither work. This is unfortunately the worst Dennys around. My husband loves their burger and despite me insisting I won't eat here anymore, sometimes he gets the puppy dog eyes just right that I cave. Things that have gone wrong: French toast was raw, pooling raw egg on the plate. When I told the manager, he said that 'that's how French toast is.' We've been served moldy fruit (strawberries), and when it was pointed out to our server they weren't replaced and the ypcharge wasn't removed from the bill. Same thing with two different salads at two different visits- the salad was so slimy it looked like wet algae and was still served. When pointed out it wasn't replaced and the upcharge removed. This most recent visit, my sides were wrong on my order. When I asked the server to correct it, he said he hadn't noticed. The sides came our after my husband was done eating and I'd asked for the bill. Over 20 minutes for corn and Mac n cheese, and the Mac was heavily burned. It appeared to have been forgotten and then they'd tried to cover that by stirring it, as there were giant chunks of char mixed in. We've been charged for milkshakes that have never made it to the table- when its been pointed out they still aren't removed from the bill. There's more. When I went to wave down the employee who was standing around swinging his arms back and forth he quickly broke eye contact and walked away. This place is awful there was hardly anyone in the place had to ask for silverware 6 times before we got it. Waited 30 minutes for food it was burnt and cold the person with me had same issue there salmon was overcooked and cold. First Dennys I been to where the wait was hours. I literally watched people get tired of waiting and left. Lucas our server was super great as a server if not for his quality customer service w might have left also being we had our children and they weee getting impatient with the wait. We never choose Denny's restaurants for our "breakfast out" option and prefer to find holes-in-the-wall that serve breakfast the way they used to serve 'em. But, our plan to do breakfast at White Horse Golf Club was thwarted this day (the golf course only does weekend breakfasts), so we decided to give this Denny's a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Of course, they've kept the ambience of the entire building - good on them, because that sets the tone for the meal for me. Old favorites on the menu, of course, although menu offerings have had to be modified to go with the times (sigh...). I did the senior starter, hubs had the French Slam. My scrambled eggs were well cooked and a good temperature. The whole wheat toast had an intriguing flavor that I couldn't quite put my finger on, but I scarfed that right up. I would have been happier if I'd gone with bacon instead of my sausage link, because links do absolutely nothing for me. I did appreciate substituting fresh fruit for hash browns. It was a nice serving of fruit. Hubby's French toast was tasty, and he enjoyed his bacon. Emmily was a great server, and kept us in coffee and friendly service. We will be back here again, although next time we might ask to sit closer to the gas fireplace. It was ca-ca-ca-cold in there, but it was cold outside that morning, too. Thank goodness for warm cups of Joe. Maybe someone could install some ceiling fans to circulate the warm air down to the customers? We'll be back to this Denny's, I'm sure! First time my mom and I dined at this Poulsbo Denny's it was great - the hash browns were crispy, eggs were perfect, even had a gluten free English muffin for me. The second time we went we ordered off the senior menu - TOTALLY different experience, seemed like they went to some effort to make the food unpleasant - the wait was a ridiculously long time, hashbrowns were limp, greasy and cold, eggs were wet and cold. You know I really wanted to say something nice about this new Dennys opened in my area but I'm sorry I can't. First of all the menu was sticky AND greasy (we still are not out of the woods from Covid) CLEAN AND SANITIZE YOUR MENUS BETWEEN CUSTOMERS. IS THAT SO HARD. THE EDGE OF THE TABLE WAS STICKY TOO. There was a hair in my sons cheeseburger. I told him to return it but he was to hunger and didn't want to wait. The French fries were good. My sirloin steak was so gristly it was almost chewy. The mashed potatoes looked more like chunky Alfredo sauce. I've never seen runny mashed potatoes before and their corn looked like it was at least two days old and had been soaking in oily Italian seasoned salad dressing I don't really know what was up with that at all. It was not a busy time of day. Service could've been better but it didn't really matter once the food came. I will never return I really wish a black bear diner had moved into this spot. read more

The newly opened Denny's in Poulsbo is housed in what was Elmer's for many years. We had good service there today, but horrible food. The "French toast" had artificial vanilla, eggs and some kind of oil product as ingredients; the syrup was tasteless and had a strong artificial aftertaste and texture. Whatever product was used to slather the toast was greasy and tasteless; certainly not butter. Overall, this dining experience was totally disappointing. This was my first time having Denny's in about a decade and it's good so far. The glass of chocolate milk I ordered had some green stains on it but it didn't effect the taste I remembered. After WEEKS of waiting for a managerial response, John, from Denny's finally called me back only to tell me that an ADA door (to assist with opening) is not a requirement (despite what it says on the ADA page) so they are taking it out. Went here this weekend. Planned on going to JJ's but closed down. So ended up going here and what a mistake. Was busy and got seated fine even though when my wife and I entered the Front desk asked how many and both me and my wife said 2 and I raised my hand with 2 fingers in a peace sign. The young man looked away after, then looked back and asked us again how many of us were there. Seated we waited not to long to get our order while watching others complain about orders not arriving and wrong items showing up. After 45 mins our waiter asked if everything was ok and I said be nice to get our food. He offered free milkshakes. Another 10-15 mins our food arrived. I got the basic breakfast 2 eggs, sausage links, hash browns, and toast, wife got the blt. Never received my toast even thou the waiter said get when delivered. My hash browns were cooked to were crispy with burnt taste and eggs were fine but sausage links were terrible. My wife couldn't eat anything off her plate, fires overcooked and then cold, bacon on BLT not cooked. We were late for our appointment since waited so long for food so when waiter came and asked how was everything we asked for our bill. While paying for bill, waited with incoming customers while register and couple paying there bill argued over food not received on there bill and how much they owed. All I can say if busy go somewhere else and cooks and wait staff need a manager. read more

06 December my wife and went in for dinner. The green haired, over the top with exuberance, shrill voiced, fake smile teenage girl that greeted us was able to be dealt with. She seated us at a table that was sticky and an obvious smear of syrup across the surface. She dropped the menus and hauled butt before we could even get our coats off and sit. My wife has a seat and I take off my jacket and put it in the booth as well as my phone and glasses on the edge of the table against the wall. I went to the front and asked if we could get the table wiped down as it was dirty. The overly entitled, condescending teenage "twink" boy looks at me and tosses me an "Excuse me!" then tells green hair to take care of it. She grabs a spray bottle and rag and follows me to the table screeching that she has "no idea what table we are at". I start explaining and pointing out the issue and she proceeds to full on spray my hand completely down with the cleaner with no "Sorry", "Oops", "Oh No" nothing, just keeps on a going like it's no big deal...except, now she starts spraying again, pumping like crazy, saturating the table and wiping. She scoops up my phone and glasses and shoves them at me & continues wiping never really wiping down my wife's side of the table. She leaves with a shrill little "SORRY about the table" comment and off she goes. Really, no harm; no foul, we can deal with it, we're hungry, so we fan dry the saturated table with the menus and start figuring out what we would like to eat for dinner. 5 waiter/waitresses walked by our table, not a single one stopped and greeted us, no water, nothing...no biggie, they looked busy. We make our selections and lay the menus at the edge of the table. *Que to all servers that you've made your selections and are ready to order. Servers walk by, staff going here and there...Nothing for over 10 minutes so I started a timer. At the 8minute mark, AND after watching a 3-top seated well AFTER us get a greeting and water, I had had enough. We got up, gather our things and were departing the establishment. I stopped by the front to ask the Entitled "twink" for a manager. He stops leaning against everything for 3 seconds, looks around and tells green hair to go get _____ (couldn't understand the name he said). Green hair goes over to the Flitty, Summer of Love, I'm 40 and should have grown up in the 60's, wanna be hippy lady and tells her I wanted to see the manager. So "hippy chic" literally tries to float/skip/sashay over to the front while flipping her dress side to side. First thing out of my mouth is "Are you the manager" and with great exuberance, she replies "Yes I am, for 1 more day!" I explained how 1) we got a dirty table 2) Green Hair had sprayed down my hand with cleaner and never said anything 3) We had waited for over 20minutes for any kind of service at all and NOTHING so we would not be coming back. Entitled "twink" gives a little snort like he was going to open his mouth and the glair I gave him stifled it. "Hippy Chic" has zero clue what to say (great managerial skills right there) and just kind of says "well, we will just try harder next time." As my wife and I walk out the door. Denny's in Poulsbo deserves a ZERO out of 5 stars and we will never be back. Had Dennys tonight. Food was good, but they didn't let me use the large glowing fork for my eggs. There was a fight between the chef and some guy named craig. (side note: if you say craig enough it starts to sound like greg). this is exactly what you would expect from a dennys. a bathroom where all the toilets are preoccupied by previous guests "residue." and to uphold my journalistic integrity i should report that i thought i was living my last moments when i ate the sausage. definitely will be back. and i will get that fork. read more
