This location is not consistent with the food. Came in for breakfast and it wasn't the same as coming in at night and ordering breakfast items. The night cooks make the food way tastier. If you go morning order one thing then go at night and order te same thing best believe that the night meal is going to Taste better. One thing this place is consistent with is the fact they they always "ran out" of something. One visit they had run out of most items including avocados mushrooms no sirloin meat. What a disappointment thing place sometimes. But even with the the service we receive from the night crew still makes us come back. I came from Julian tonight with my husband & littles to save myself from cooking dinner and to our surprise our kids got to eat free which was great news from the start! -Restaurant environment very clean & was greeted by staff right away. -Food tasted very delicious. We were waited on by a gentleman named Raymond & were nothing but pleased. He made sure that we were content with both our meal and their service the whole time(with there being a good amount of customers inside). He took our order accurately and the wait for our food took not long at all. Our drinks stayed full, he was able to answer my questions about their menu, and kept a smile on his face the whole time. Hi! We got the Build Your Own Jr. Grand Slam off the kids menu. We got it with Pancakes, Turkey Bacon, and Hashbrowns. It was delicious! The pancakes had a hint of sweetness to them that made them so good! They were also so soft and fluffy! They also gave us a-lot of hashbrowns, that were cooked to perfection! Although the waiter's weren't very attentive and we also had to send back our mom's food because the cheese on her philly steak sandwhich was just sitting on top, not melted. I went there last week and was greeted immediately, sat immediately, and then greeted by the server immediately. I ordered the loaded bacon and cheddar tots and the drink was a Coke with lemon. Tots came out quickly, were very hot and tasted amazing and fresh. Soda was fantastic as usual as well. Nice!!! I actually got a hot fudge sundae to boot! I've ordered takeout at Denny's in Ramona several times now and I have yet to have a good experience. They usually don't start making the order until after I arrive at the designated time. I have to wait and wait. My last online order on 5/15/23, I ordered a salad with grilled chicken with an extra $3.00 charge. Hoping to avoid the wait, I called ahead and said I was on my way and please have it ready. I got there and sat in my car for 5 minutes before going in. To my surprise they had it ready for pickup. When I got home there was no grilled chicken in with the salad. I called the store and spoke to someone that promised a refund in 2-3 business day. It never showed up. I called corporate and they advised that I revisit the store and that it would take them 2-3 business days as well. NEVER again will I visit this store. If I could rate 0 stars I would. I was given the option to have the food delivered. Well after about 3 hours I callsed to see where my order was. They told me they don't deliver and that the food has been ready for a while, and to come get it. I asked for a refund and was told that I cannot get a refund. I had breakfast at this Denny's the morning that I'm in Ramona. Since I knew exactly which 4 items from their Grand Slam breakfast menu ($5.99) I wanted, I came in, ordered, and finished my breakfast all in 30 minutes time and made my 8 am meeting with time to spare. Besides wasting about a minute before anyone greeted me at the door, the rest of breakfast went by without a hitch, and I even had my coffee refilled not once, but twice. HECTOR IS AWESOME. enough said. And the new chef tonight (1.21.2016) (11:49pm) First time we came here, the service sucked. The staff was lost as fuck. We ended up leaving after 30 minuets of waiting to place an order and all we wanted was BISCUTS AND GRAVY AND PANCAKES! Second time we came here, we met a guy named HECTOR! He was a bit nervous but did his best! And there was a customer giving him quite a bit of sass and it didn't help that the cooks fucked up the meal multiple times. However our meal turned out alright. Third time we came here, we saw hector again and his service had defiantly improved! He got the menu down and just overall awesome at his job! But again food was just alright, felt the red skin potatoes were always missing something! Fourth time we came here, HECTOR WAS A SUPERVISOR/MANAGER!!!! Way to go hector! Unfortunately the cooks were still really shitty, but hector's got this and goes "no mámes!!!" Let me start by saying I'm giving 2 stars because the person I spoke to on the phone was very nice and the food was delicious as always this review is meant for the sever that brought out my food. I ordered came to pick up and called asked if I could get it curbside pickup because I had my toddler with me the server on the receipt was "AM C" I'm not sure if that was the person who brought out my food if it's a female then yes that's who brought out my food at 10:12am 9-25-2020 she answered the phone and I said yes I just placed an order for pick up can I get it curbside please she was very unsure about it which is weird because every time I go I get curbside so I didn't think it was a problem. She said she'd be out in a minute 12mins later she came out said the price yanked my card out of my hand and walked off. Immediately I was like okay that's not very nice. I know sometimes they don't always get tips because when you don't go inside you can't put tip on the card but I had cash for a tip so I don't really understand why she was being so rude about taking my card. She then came back gave my card back to me in a very rude way and I said okay thank you and she's stormed off before I could even give her a tip And she slammed open the door to Denny's and walked inside and all I could say was wow you're really pleasant. It's very upsetting to me because not everybody wants to go into a restaurant or a food place to get food and when you type in on the search bar for Denny's and Ramona it says curbside pickup and like I said I've done that several times in the past I've never had an issue I've never had anybody be rude to me but the way she was about it her body language the way she didn't even give me any type of you're welcome or have a nice day was very disgusting in my opinion. Covid means hard times and every penny helps but this needs to be corrected I could have easily went to the grocery store and made the breakfast that I ordered today but I thought you know what let me go ahead and help out a business trying to stay open and succeed during these hard times just to be treated like crap. Being honest here, I really dislike Denny's. This week I had no choice but to stop in because my son was starving, those are his words. We had the pleasure of being seated in a section that had a fantastic waitress. Tiffany was amazing, kept our drinks full, placed our order accurately, and was sure we were taken care of the whole time. The food was okay, its Denny's so it is what it is. I kinda wish there was a 2 1/2 stars because this Denny's is really hit and miss. Have had to be there 3 times recently, twice for breakfast and once for dinner. We had excellent service for dinner and the food arrived in a timely manner and was mostly enjoyed by all. The pumpkin pie was nothing special but it wasn't bad. Love the chicken noodle soup! Great experience! For breakfast we had a long wait to be seated and the seat and table we extremely wet when we sat down. So wet that we jumped back up and the host had to dry the seats. The waitress was very difficult to understand through her accent and she had trouble understanding us too. It made service very difficult. The first visit we ordered the holiday bread pudding french toast which was served cold and tasted vile, maybe heat would have improved the flavor, but I doubt it. I sent it back and told them not to replace it. The second visit the hash brown which I normally love weren't crisp and I left half of them on the plate. For his birthday, my son ordered the turtle cheesecake which he enjoyed. I had one bite and could tell that the cheesecake was stale and for the turtle they drizzled chocolate and caramel and sprinkled with peanuts. Ugh! Of course we will go back as there aren't a lot of diner choices in Ramona. read more
