So I came in at about 2 o'clock in the morning for a midnight after bar run snack. My server was April. Let me tell you this was the worst Denny's experience I have ever ever had we sat there for over half an hour at the table to have a order taken and there's hardly anybody else there. Finally when we got her food it was the worst food we've ever had it tasted moldy and they would not give us any type of discount for it. when we were waiting for our check we had $100 on the table she came and took 100 went and cashed it in but never gave us a receipt never gave us a check and then couldn't re-print a receipt and it turned out to be $60 for two dinners not even dinners I had a breakfast yeah. WTF?! This is the worse Denny's I've been to. The service is very slow and this place is DIRTY!!! There are so many bugs here it's disgusting. This Denny's was not particularly busy after a recent event just down the street however, we did have to wait about fifteen minutes for a table. There was a light staffing which was most likely the reason for the delay. Plenty of tables were empty however not clean and then it seems we were just forgotten about. We toyed with the idea of cleaning our own table. Once we were seated the hostess kept insisting it would be quite awhile before we would be waited upon. We did get our initial drinks right away and unfortunately, we had to wait another fifteen/twenty minutes before our waitress came back to take our food order. Despite all this the waitress was very nice and tentative and the food came up quickly. It was your average Denny's fare. It just takes to long to get seated and helped here. read more

Our server kaleb was really nice! Only server here but made time for us :-) the fryer was down but we got mashed potatoes instead that were a little cold but still very good! Went here twice. Once was with an old friend. It was 2 AM and we went for some late night pancakes...The waitress was nice to us. Making small talk, but we can tell she wasn't faking it. I remember this was when "A Cinderella Story" was about to come out or had just came out. They gave me a free poster because I ordered from the kid's menu and got the "Princess Breakfast" or something of that sort. It came with pancakes and eggs, with a choice of bacon or sausage and some pink 7-up, which I thought was too cute. =) Memorable time! Another time I went with a few friends for a late night snack. Okay, I know what you guys are thinking... how can a Denny's get 4 stars? Well, this Denny's performed above and beyond the call of duty for next-generation truck stops. We entered the Denny's with only 20 minutes to spare before a test prep course at McGeorge. The waitress was very prompt, and must have realized we were both (1) in a hurry, and (2) still hung over, if not still drunk, from last night. She suggested a couple alternatives to our choices in order to save us some money, and our food came in 10 minutes. Now, I know what you're thinking... 10 minutes doesn't sound extraordinarily fast. But consider this: the parking lot was packed so full that we had to park next door, and there was a convention of odd-looking motorcycle people that took up 1/2 of the restaurant. This Denny's was so packed that we had to sit at the counter to avoid a 45 minute wait for a table. And we still got our food in 10 minutes. It was good. So the waitress got a nice tip and I left to go do my impression of Ashley Garamendi. read more

If I reviewed this restaurant a year or 2 ago, I probably would have given it a 3 but I'll give it a 2. I normally come here since its one of the few places near Sac State that's open late and can put up with 15-20 college students between 10 and midnight. My group always calls them a day in advance to let them know that we're coming so we expect at least a decent service but no, it has only happened once in about three visits (the one time happened last spring) but since then the service is slow (45-60 minutes to get our food) and they mess up some of our orders. I ordered BBQ Chicken Sandwich off the value menu and the waitress did not give me everything I ordered (no coleslaw) and a friend of mine ordered unlimited pancakes for $4 but only received the $2 double stack of pancakes. Also a year ago they gave students 10% discounts but they don't do that anymore. I'll give them an extra star though for at least being able to put up with our group a number of times. read more

This Denny's deserves five stars! We all know how businesses are understaffed. I have visited this restaurant on many weekends. The employees here are friendly and work quickly to serve their customers. One particular employee, Naz, a manager really stands out above the rest! Obviously being short- staffed, with a smile Naz was working the register, seating guests, taking names for the waiting list, serving drinks and amazingly taking orders without a notepad. She was also running hot food to customers. She impressed me so much that I asked if she was one of the franchise owners. I thought only an owner would be that vested in their customers' satisfaction. Naz replied that she was a manger and that one day her dream is to have her own Denny's franchise. With the strong work ethic I saw, I have no doubt that Naz will make her dream come true. read more

Where do I even begin with this place? My boyfriend and I arrived on march 21st 2021 at 800pm on a Sunday night. Keep in mind the restaraunt was slow and there was barely anyone there. We were seated rather quickly by Grant and the first table he took us too was dirty,so he relocated us to a table near the kitchen. After he sat us he asked what we wanted to drink,and what we wanted to eat. I wanted their new bowl option called the chicken addiction but he said they ran out of the creamy alfredo sauce. I was bummed. If they were out of said items they should've said that at the get go. I tried to order something else but he said they didnt have either. They were out of alot of the ingredients that I wanted,they werent well stocked with food options. For example my boyfriend wanted the all American slam but they ran out of hashbrowns. When I return the voicemail 1 minute later, now I'm told that they are actually out of all types of buns. Five minutes later, they call to tell me they're out of hash browns. Not sure how a diner manages to run out of hamburger buns and hash browns, but whatever. When I get the food, the burger comes on a hoagie roll instead of the Texas Toast I settled for when they had no buns. The patty is burned, the fries are raw (Do you know what raw potatoes taste like? blekh), the side of ranch I ordered is missing, and the milk shake is unpalatable (I also think it's the wrong flavor, but it's so gross I can't tell for sure what flavor it's trying to be.) I've never written a review for restaurants before, but I guess with all the great services I've experienced I think it's important and fair to appreciate the people that served us. I came in and requested if our food could be prepared a little bit faster as it was the first day of school and wanted to head back to sac state promptly. Our first waiter said it's a little busy in the back but she'll try her best to get the food out as soon as she can. I didn't get her name in time, but she seemed like a very nice person. I was then helped by a second waitress and her name was Nicole. I have to say, from all the years I've been to Denny's all over, Nicole seems to be the nicest and coolest waitress I've gotten! I again asked her if the food could be brought out a little sooner than usual as I didn't want to come to class late on my first week. She just smiled and assured us with a "No problem, I'll make sure your food comes out soon so you wouldn't be late for class". About 10 minutes later (or even less) my food came out! Super appreciated and very impressed at her punctual timing on the food she served, Nicole was an awesome server and friendly too- definitely had a great dine in experience! When you come to eat at Denny's its usually because your broke or its 2am. In this case, i was broke and so were all my classmates! So Denny's it is! We arrived with 10 people and they were really good about seating us. They even offered to split our checks for us and didn't charge us gratuity! Server was really nice, and i overheard the other table got their food a bit late so they even got a discount! We got our food pretty fast, and the guy remembered who ordered what! Great service ! Came in around 2am for a late night bite and the server was so nice and funny. She have good suggestions of what to order and our food came pretty quick. The classic burger was delicious and so were the fries , my friend ordered seasoned fries and those tasted just like curly fries . Delicious ! Don't come here in the AM. Service is nonexistent! One of the servers is completely useless, another waitress had to pick up her slack. Shout out to the nice security guard, if I was a girl I would feel safe eating here (not that I would because lack of service) . I think he walks the girls to their cars. My friends and I come to this Denny's to hang out after closing nights of plays we've been working or if we simply need a relaxing night to unwind. Most of the waitresses know us, and they are all very friendly, despite the fact that we're usually a large group of loud teenagers. They are better about splitting checks than most other restaurants (even those that are way more expensive) and the restaurant is always tidy. Just note that they are not open 24 hours a day everyday anymore. We kind of got stopped dead in our tracks one night as they were closing at 1:00 am. I have to say to give a place this low of a rating is hard to make me do. But the service I have received from this restaurant the past two Saturdays has primed me for giving this review. Last Saturday I placed my order and asked to substitute hash browns from their red skinned potatoes. After getting to work I discovered that they had given me hash browns instead. I didn't think twice as it could be a honest oversight. But this morning I placed a order for me and a co-worker and when I arrived to pick up my order I was greeted to the fact they had given my order to another customer. Laughing he said that the other customer must have been not awake when he asked if my meal was his. Why ask for phone number and a name if you are not going to use it? Then, while still laughing, asked if I would like to wait while they make my order again. This would be nice if I hadn't called my order in as I just use to go at a sit down establishment if I have time to sit down and wait.
