Came here with my boyfriend and our friends after the air show. At first, upon parking one would think it to be insane that the parking spots are only available for 1 hour. I've never been in and out of a restaurant in 1 hour unless I'm just ordering and leaving with food. But hey at least we are actual customers. I highly doubt any business would want to lose business over a parking lot. But any, service started ok. The lady who greeted us seemed to be losing her mind. She didn't know which servers were serving which tables. As it being the weekend, there appeared to be only a few actual servers. It would've been nice to have been given some waters upon sitting, but I'm willing to let it slide due to how things were. Once the crowd was lessen, the service was on top. Our server got our orders right (we ordered a lot of drinks and picky as to how we wanted our food) and got refills on time. We were often checked on to make sure everything was to our expectations. I was happy it ended well. We will come here again when we are in the area and looking for decent and reasonable food. read more

This was, hands-down, the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I went with my parents, my husband, and our 4 children. First of all, the wait was horrible. I had to wait nearly half-an-hour just to be seated, not to mention the hour-long wait for our food. I guess the place must have been understaffed at the prime-time for breakfast - 10:30. Aside from the ridiculously long wait times, the service was horrible. The waitress didn't even speak English! She only spoke Spanish and could barely tell what we said most of the time. Luckily, another customer could translate for us and it took us nearly 20 minutes just to order our food. Once we did finally order our food, the food was horrible! The eggs were barely cooked and were extremely runny. The pancakes tasted like they were sitting out for 5 days. And the bacon was as hard as it was for our waitress to speak English. Our waitress was lucky that we even tipped at all, let alone the 10% that we did end up tipping! I will definitely not be coming back here ever again, not that I usually go out to breakfast anyway. read more

I only give this Dennys a 5 star review because of the waitress Nasrin and the morning staff and managers. Everytime i come in i am taken care of quickly. It seems as if Nasrin loves her job :) She always had service with a smile and acknowledges all of her guests like they are family. The morning managers are always checking up on people making sure they leave happy! The busser Saul even is great. Most bussers dont acknowledge customers they just clean up. Saul doesnt do that. He acknowledges everyone and runs drinks and food and is so friendly. It says something when you see return guests a lot. If you want a good meal with a friendly server come to this Dennys during the week mornings! read more

I found this Denny's to be average. I am a huge fan of the chain, but understand that none of them are a four-star restaurant. The staff was nice and their facilities were clean. The wait times were not too bad and the food was okay. Having just moved to the area, I feel the need to compare this Denny's with the one in Mission Valley that I frequented, which was overall much better. I will be back, but there are probably better breakfast options along Miramar Road. read more

Been coming to this location for years being that it's less than 1 mile from my home. Nothing special. Average service and food. But it's dennys. Never expected much. However, the first time I tried ordering take out, I spoke with someone by the name of Jose saying he was the manager. I tried to order their hash brown plate that comes with 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, and French Toast. I tried to substitute hash browns for the bacon and he kept insisting it wasn't possible. As if there was a law in physics keeping his cooks hand from reaching for more hash browns as oppose to two strips of bacon. So I quit. It was way too early in the morning to argue about something so petty. Called the location all the way across town. Made the same request, and what do you know. No resistance to the customers request. Point is. I wasn't mad. Just super inconvenienced. Oh also Jose probably sucks as a manager. Cheers. read more

I have been to almost every Denny's in San Diego and this is by far my favorite establishment. I generally enjoy Denny's as it brings me a sense nostalgia from my childhood, going to a nice morning breakfast with my family, or a late night dinner with friends. This massive food chain has a wide variety of food choices so whether you want some pancakes, a hamburger, or even a steak you'll be able to get it. The prices aren't half bad either, so if you're on a tight budget you can get quality food for cheap. Denny's is also a great place for highschool and college students who need a place to hangout, eat, and study. Every establishment I've been to has ample room to work at tables, as well as free wifi connection, it's the perfect place to get things done. What sets this specifics Denny's apart from all the rest for me is the service. Many of the staff members there have remembered me even after a month or two, whenever I show up they always ask me how I am and how the rest of my family is. It always brightens my day to be met with such kindness while I'm having a meal. If you want a cheap meal with good food, a place to get some work down, and an amazing experience with kind servers, I highly recommend this Denny's restaurant. read more

The service was ok and we got seated fairly quickly even though it was Veterans Day and the parking lot was packed. We ordered moons over my hammy, grand slam, $4 biscuits and gravy meal, a kids meal and coffee. First my husband found a hair in his hashbrowns, it was black, curly and about an inch long. We just waited till the server came back and I said no we didnt need a replacement as we had plenty of food. We continued to eat but then we found another hair in my biscuit and gravy, and was so done. We pointed it out to the server and the manager came over, offered us more food but we turned it down. It sure didnt look like facial hair unless someone has a long beard and arent they required to cover it when they are cooking? My first thought was that the cook doesnt care for the military. Somehow with 2 comped meals and the free veterans day grand slam we still had a $9 bill, which I paid but feel that the whole meal should have been comped. read more

The folks here are wonderful. We spoil our litter daughter to death ("A side of croutons"!?!?) and they're happy to oblige. Their "Build Your Own Burger" and "Build Your Own Skillet" are ingenious. If we had more spending cash we'd be regulars. Until then, we enjoy going there whenever we can. Highly recommended. read more

Ok, people it's a Denny's. I'm not sure what people expect from a cheap diner known for providing quick hot meals. I've rarely go to any other Dennys in the SD area, the service is always good no matter who my server has been. The manager does rounds and greets the customers while serving coffee to those who need it. The food is always what I order and well cooked. I do understand that seasoning is in the eye of the beholder, so how much seasoning can they do? Not to mention we all have options when looking at a menu, if your food is greasy order less greasy food, they have options. This Denny's is neither great or bad. There service here varies depending on what hour of the day you come and the time of week. There are times where I have had some great service and others where the service is alright. Usually during wednesday or tuesday you can get some good service for whatever time of day you go but on those long days such as monday and friday, the service can be spotty. The food here is often cooked well and done right, but there have been times where I have ordered a burger and it has been a bit cold. They are usually good about responding to situation such as those. One of my favorite parts about this Denny's is that they have tv's that play sports. It is nice to go to a dinner and be able to watch some football or baseball. Overall this place is alright. read more

Just really homey atmosphere. I go to dennys every time I am on a roadtrip. They have great food for their price. There is also a really big variety of food on the menu which is what I like to see when i am hungry. Today I went for a very special occasion, my good friend's birthday. I was joined by two other gentlemen and we were looking forward to delectable breakfast that Denny's is known for. We came in at around 10:30, what I'd assume would be the busiest they a surprisingly adequate job of seating up within 5 minutes, about the only thing they did right. We were take to our booth by a sour faced host and informed him it was my friends birthday, hoping that no detail of our feast would go overlooked, oh, and that it would include a complimentary treat. we started off with drinks as we were all very thirsty. She brings out our waters without ice. Who does that? Drinking lukewarm water is nothing anyone should have to go through in that state of mind, especially the birthday boy. Moving on to the food they did a pretty poor presentation of my grand slam breakfast (I like my pancakes eggs and bacon in the shape of a smiley face), and in no way made an effort to make my friend feel special at the end of the day. if i can give less then one star i would, my boyfriend and i went in (interracial couple) and they were so rude giggling and laughing there body language spoke louder then words they were very condescending rude,i didn't even feel comfortable to order i smelt predjudice,arrogants,they clearly made it their point to make us feel very uncomfortable, i then left and asked to speak to their manager they said they didn't have a manager i then asked for the corperate office number and they told me they couldn't find it. i went on yelp and read some of there negative reviews and what they wrote was exactly how i felt too, they have really sketchy staff here i would never come here again. read more

i select no stars ! i just left from this establishment and ordered from the 55+ menu the lady told me i look to young and i quickly told her thank you but i am 58 years old and quickly identified myself with my VA card ! and i continued to ordered my food which came out to $8.98 then after 1 minute of me ordering my food i saw that they had a special for the same food i ordered but for $5.99 plus with hash browns so i quickly said hey i want the special and the lady told me they already made it and i said no way did they make it in 1 minute then she asked the short lady with the red hair and she said no also and i said then give me my money back and the lady said with a loud voice that im not getting my money back and i quickly said i am a veteran and she said she was also so pulled out my military card and asked her to show proof of her military status which she was mocking me and she didnt respond to my request and she repeatedly was mocking me that i was a veteran . i will never eat here again and i can only hope all military and verterans do thhe same seeing that they are located directly across fro the military base ! so disrespectful... i will reach out to the owner of that dennys . read more
