The best denny's. Been going here for 20 years. After eating here, you always wonder why you would have paid a lot more to eat in a fancy restaurant where the food is hit or miss. At this Denny's it's always perfect. I love their shakes of the month too, like Santa's Cookies shake. Wish I could put a zero. Walked in after 25 minutes of ordering (Quoted 20 minutes to be ready) and was told "If you ordered online you'll have to wait, theres 12 pending orders"..... Waited 50 minutes total from when my order was placed (French toast Slugger and a piece of French Toast) and when I got back to work they only gave me half my food!!!!!!! a 3 for a dennys is pretty damn good. the service was good for a dennys. and the food was alright. it wasnt amazing. its liek something you can get from college dining halls. but they actually bring it to you. so lets see. the service, we had one waiter because no one else was working and no one else was there. this was a monday evening. and the only part that was unacceptable is when i went to pay for the check. the dude in the front had some attitude. what an es hol. but w/e its dennys. build your own! i had the country fried steak. it was okay. wasn't great.and the fries were lacking something. idk. it just wasn't right. the coke was a little flat. but w/e its dennys! only 3 Noms today. read more

Been a long time since I've been to Denny's they gave me and my friend excellent service. Our waiter came many times asking if everything was good. My ice tea was always full. It's really hard to rate this place as expectations aren't very high. Overall it was alright. They got a bit busy with only 2 servers so my coffee refill was lacking. Speaking of coffee, this was some bad stuff. It tasted really burnt. I had the cinnamon pancake breakfast. The "sauce" they put on the pancakes was weird. I tried to call in my order three times, no answer. So I walked in and the guy asks me if it's to go, I said yes, he said there's going to be a 15 minute wait for the food, I said alright. I've been sitting here waiting to order for 20 minutes, he's sitting new people down and ringing people out. I came here after a concert to meet up with some friends for a late night snack. They came in earlier than me starving and had been waiting for their food for about 30 minutes, so I was hesitant on ordering, but I eat fast, so I just went with it. 10 minutes later, my order came out and my friends' dishes STILL weren't ready. It came on the hour mark for them. Funny thing was, I wasn't actually hungry, but I got my food first. They were starving :P Denny's is Denny's, so I'm sure you don't need me to review their food which is always just average. I'm glad they're open during those odd hours.. and that I got my food fast.. but can't say the same for my friends! read more

Got greeted and seated very quickly. The place was very full as I was enjoying a late brunch with my family. The food came out and was great. My family and I went here earlier today for lunch. We were seated pretty fast but the service was terrible! We ordered our food and waited an hour and finally asked the server what was taking so long. He said that the order should be done soon and walked away. 10 mins later my husband went up to the manager and he was extremely rude and said they were backed up and that the food should be done soon. Meanwhile I noticed that 2 other tables that had arrived 20 mins after us were eating their food. After waiting another 10 mins I asked the server again where our food was and he said the order should be done soon. My family and I walked out and will never return to this location. I have been using Denny's for years and all over the country. I am a truck driver who can't really eat at truckstops or normal travel centers, because of health reasons. Fried, greasy, and Fast foods don't agree with me. Denny's has been a godsent. I have many within just a few miles and this one within 6.5. Management and their personnel are more the just employees of Denny's, they make me feel like family. No one is perfect, but if something does happen it is corrected and they more than apologize. read more

My friends and I came here at 3am, hoping to get some late night food. Unfortunately, the waitresses were incredibly slow at helping us. Granted, we had three or four tables full of hungry people, but it took them 20 minutes before they even came to get our drink orders. Took them quite a while to get our orders out as well, and some things were missing. The food itself was ok...but because it took them so long to get it out to me, I didn't feel as hungry as I did when I walked in. To make matters worse, a table who came in 15 minutes after us got their food FIRST. This is the first time I have came in the early morning (615amish), and no one came up to my table to ask if I wanted anything, not even a drink or to say they would be right with me I usually go here at lunch time and the staff is great. Am shift didn't seem to notice I was even here. I had to go to the front to ask to place an order and no one said sorry. Two-years ago I attended a week-long trade show in Las Vegas. Due to the show's location to my hotel, I was forced to eat breakfast each morning in the hotel coffee shop. It was a painful experience and I planned my days around not eating any other meals there. The restaurant was staffed by two waitresses; one barely competent and the other totally incompetent. The day that the incompetent one was off the barely competent did better by herself. None of the patrons were happy with the service and many complained to the hotel management over it. Some got up early and walked a mile to eat at another restaurant. As I ate my breakfast each day I watched the waitresses doing it wrong, and I just kept thinking to myself, "Neither one could make it at Denny's." Shortly after returning to San Diego I had occasion to meet a colleague at Denny's #7856. In contrast to my unpleasant Las Vegas experience, all of the customers got what they wanted, in a timely fashion, and everyone left happy. It was not terribly busy, but I only recall seeing only one waitress on duty, Nasrin. She was serving more customers than the two waitresses at the hotel coffee shop had, all by herself, and she made it look easy. Everyone got refills on their drinks, everyone got what they wanted and how they wanted it, and everyone seemed to look forward to their next meal at Denny's. I was also impressed not only by the new menu items, and the seasonal specials, but that Nasrin explained to us that we could substitute anything, or ask for it to be prepared anyway that we wanted it. And all of that, with friendly, competent service from happy employees, for a very competitive price! Since then I have recommended Denny's Restaurants, especially this location, to my friends. I now regularly meet another college there for lunch. He has also recently rediscovered Denny's and the new menu. We always get what we want, how we want it and in a friendly manner. And when we come in, not only are we greeted with a smile, but as soon as we sit down Nasrin bring us our drinks. She remembers them. That is a very nice touch, and we appreciate that kind of service. It is not hard to have one good experience at a restaurant, but it is difficult to satisfy repeat customers; to consistently give them good service, correctly prepared food from a menu with many choices and options, and to keep them coming back. More and more I find myself judging other restaurants by the standards that Denny's has set. read more

We went in yesterday for a brunch type meal at lunch time, Oct. 25, 2011, and want to say how much we appreciated the service and the meals. I have not been in this location since the early 1990's and was very pleased with how attentive the staff were to us. Nasarin, waited on us and her helper, Saul brought everything in a timely manner. The manager, whose name we do not know, was so attentive to us and all the other customers in the restaurant at that time. As we live in Rancho Bernardo, our chances of going to this location is slim, but we shall keep this location in mind when next we are in the Miramar area. Some say this is "The best Denny's in San Diego". My experience definitely did not reflect that. The server was friendly. I ordered something simple: all you can eat pancakes. It took over half an hour to get my Three pancakes, and when they arrived, they were cold. I sent them back and when the new ones arrived they tasted fairly bland. Very disappointed. read more
