We tried the Cali Club Sandwich and the Bourbon Chicken Skillet; both were super fresh, satisfying, and delicious. Kudos to the kitchen for delivering that authentic Denny's taste I love. Service was a bit slow, but completely understandable given the post-event crowd keeping the restaurant packed. Came here for breakfast. We were greeted upon our arrival which was nice. I have to give it two stars though as our server was hard to find and when we got our food it wasn't served to order and was not warm. While it got busy after we arrived, our food should have been served by others if the server was busy. ONE OF SD's BEST DENNY'S! I've come to this Denny's several times after concerts at Soma or hockey games at Pechanga and i absolutely love it! It's quiet, accessible, and the service is very good! I love that the restaurant is intimate and open 24 hrs. The restrooms are pretty clean and so is waiting area. The dining room is about medium size with both booths and tables available. I love Denny's breakfast and dinner. My go-to's are the loaded omelette w/ a side of multigrain pancakes or a fried cheese melt (when it's available). This location is very festive and keeps up with the season's themes and exclusive menu items. Point Loma's Denny's is not far from the freeway and San Diego Sports Arena (Pechanga). talk about midnight dining...everything was great until we saw the hidden fees with the extra topping on tops with the overcharging. we ordered from the $10 and under and somehow our waiter Vincent told us to download the app several times practically begging us saying that we're gonna get something for free. And honestly, I don't even care about getting anything for free. It's the principal so I did it for him and said it makes him look good. Something about some points for his work. Then he over charges me on my bill. Add an extra $20 onto the bill when I ordered off the $10 menu, tries to play it off noticed the receipt and I still didn't receive my hashbrowns. Pancakes are dry, bacon was undercooked and drenched in oil. Sausage was burnt and unseasoned. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. They sat three tables after my review, no menus provided. These guest sat for 20 minutes before the host took them a menu and cutlery, mind you no drink order of food taken yet. Olga our server this busy Saturday was on top of everything and very nice. She filled our coffee as soon as it was empty and looked over the table each time to see if anything was getting low--like little vanilla creamers or all flavors of jelly for the toast--and she made sure we had plenty of everything before we even asked. I went with my mom, and as usual at this location we had a nice time. Everyone who works there is always positive and friendly, and the food comes fast and cooked in a competent way (e.g. hash browns golden with the right amount of crisp, over-easy eggs nice and not weirdly oily, fluffy pancakes) so it's a nice treat. Sometimes other Denny's locations serve up something a little sad and low quality....but never this location. It's become one of my happy places after three visits this year. read more

Waiter was great that is what the stars are for. The food seams to be getting worse. Smaller portions, higher prices, and not cooked right. To make great eggs you need to blend them, c not beat them. When you blend them they are fluffier and look larger. The coffee was not hot or real fresh. But, the coffee was ok. The place is clean. I just wish the good looked something like the menu. I love Denny's but I had a horrible time at this one. I stood for 10min before anyone even acknowledged me. The host kept looking at me but didn't greet me or said anything. Once we sat down I ordered a plain burger for my son and when she brought the food it had cheese on it. I let her know my son does not like cheese. She said "well in my understanding a plaid burger is just the meat and cheese" and "well I guess after he tries it and doesn't like it and can get him just the burger with no cheese". I don't know what it is but Denny's is steadily declining in all aspects and soon will not even be worth going there. The staff was either slow, lazy or just didn't know how to do their job. There were empty tables all over the place yet it took the server 10 minutes just to ask for our drinks, and he did not know what was out so when he came back 5-10 minutes later he only had one children drink and never brought the other or what we asked for a replacement. Food was cooked in good time but servers just left it sitting on the pick up counter cooling down. We ordered a skillet breakfast and the skillet was cold by the time it got to us, pitiful.
