I didn't know what to expect when my mom and I stopped on Thursday morning for breakfast. It was pretty busy at 9am, but we were given a cute little booth in the side dining area. The menu is huge and has all of the things you would expect in a breakfast/brunch/lunch place. I noted that there were some $9.99 breakfast specials that seemed like a good deal and I wasn't that hungry, so we both got the two egg omelette special & drip coffee. As stated earlier, the place was busy and our server, Norma, indicated that it would be at least 20 minutes for our food to come out. We watched as the side dining area filled with customers and Norma and her assistant worked hard to take care of everyone. About 20 minutes after we ordered, our omelettes, steaming hot & fresh, were brought out just as we'd requested. While not super aesthetic, the food was tasty, really and truly, and it was a good deal. The coffee was also very smooth & Norma made sure our cups were never empty. Once we finished our food, Norma, knowing that we were in a bit of a hurry, brought our check right over without being asked. She was so attentive and professional, and she is absolutely an asset to the Broken Yolk. Plenty of parking in the large lot, clean bathrooms & both indoor & outdoor seating. If I were a bruncher, this would be my go to spot. Arrived early and was situated at my table prior to the influx of the brunch bunch (à la Bob's Burgers). The place was large enough, with indoor and outdoor seating thankfully. The food was amazing, and the reason I would return. The avocado toast was delicious and exponentially aided by the fresh salmon and red onions. Love capers and paired well with salmon, per usual. Serving size was enough to share, if I was feeling generous. The home fries were good too. I do wish that the coffee selection was better. As a non-bruncher, I require a really good cup of coffee whenever required to rise earlier than usual...especially on the weekends. Breakfast can never do me wrong and I truly enjoyed my breakfast from Broken Yolk. I ordered the American Breakfast which comes with eggs, potatoes, a choice of meat and a your choice between pancakes, muffin, croissant, toast...etc. I selected Bacon as well as a Blueberry Muffin to go with my eggs and potatoes. I also ordered a small orange juice. It was delightful and fulfilling. A great breakfast to start my day off great. I ordered to go so I didn't get to experience dining in, but the restaurant looked very nice and clean. First impressions are everything to enjoy a meal. This eatery looks like your classic diner, with ample indoor and outdoor seating, and simple decor. But our overall experience was excellent and went above and beyond. We arrived at 9:45am on Monday morning, were seated right away, and staff was attentive to our needs and helpful the entire time. Our order took 12 minutes to be ready, and was delicious and filling. Got the spicy vegan bowl and monte cristo without raspberry sauce and with hashbrowns on the side, as well as a side of scrambled eggs. If I could give this location a zero, I would. I came by myself with my 4 year old to eat breakfast. They had one waiter running the section, so I only seen him ONCE in the whole time I was there (until it was time to give me my check ofc.) and was super rushed while ordering. He obviously had too much on his hands, which was not his fault. The food arrived was okay, or what we were even able to eat... Half way through, my son had to use the rest room. So, I wrote a note saying to not throw away the food (once again, hadn't seen my server so I couldn't let him know.) and where we would be...came back to my table cleared. Yet I was still charged, like I got to eat it!! Upon getting my receipt, I went to pay in the front and went to ask to speak to the manager but the employee didn't understand me so at that point, I was over it. There is ample parking and they allowed dogs out there which is nice. There was a lot of space. I ordered my usual, Ranchero Skillet, I asked for the potatoes to be crispy because when I don't they are usually soggy. Well they were soggy and hardly and eggs or chorizo. OMG!!! This has got to be one of the best meals I have ever had in my entire life!!! The Eggs Benedict was phenomenal and so was the service! Even if this isn't enough, the place looked very cool. Little hidden gem we found while looking for another place. I'm so glad we found this place. Everything here was amazing and we couldn't get over how good the food was. We have already recommended others and plan to visit on our next trip down to SD! My husband had a steak and he loved it. I had eggs Benedict but with a Twist. One was corn bread while the other was a sope. Both were really good. My daughter loved her pancake. We devoured our food so quickly we didn't even take a picture. Highly recommend this place. Unacceptable. We want to come and spend $60 on eggs. And the employees tell us we can't sit near the window because it's not 7 AM. And they tell us this with a smile? We are at Denny's now. We wanted to patronize this establishment with our money but when the employees start running the store, then it's over. We do not enjoy being forced to sit into a compacted area with all of the other customers when there is a big spacious well expensive restaurant dining area to be had, it's the same thing as being told that the place is going to close in 40 minutes. We don't care is something called hospitality. If I was a restaurant owner I would do everything I could to get customers into my establishment instead of driving them away. And I don't wanna blame the staff because these decisions come straight from the top. Our waiter had a nasty attitude from the moment we sat down, until the time we left. We arrived about an hour and a half before closing, so I'm not sure if he had a bad day. Hash browns had a different taste and friend didn't eat his because they got too cold too quickly. We were seated in the outside area with only one other table being occupied. I can not remember the waiter asking how the food was but he did refill my friends cup of coffee. One thing that stuck out was after I had used the bathroom there was a young lady seated at the counter who was cutting her nails.
