Simply Awful! The "Night Manager" needs to be fired for leaving staff without the ability to refund customers when they make a mistake. I had a employee tell me they couldn't fill my order, which I had already pay for, and then expected me to accept this outcome and leave the premises without a refund. The current manager is either taking advantage of current staff by not given them the ability to do their jobs, or he/she is pretending to be work taking advantage of absence upper management. All the while allowing general staff without ability to deal with customer problems effectively. This inappropriate, and should be handle immediately. And I'm being nice. read more

I went to this Denny's on a Sunday at 8:15AM. I expected slow service because of the usual Sunday morning crowd, but this time it took WAY longer than expected. My waitress was in charge of about 4-5 tables including mine and whenever she walked by I could hear heavy breathing as if she had been running for minutes straight. We (party of 7) sat down and did not order drinks until 20 minutes had passed. I didn't notice the time much because of the company with me, but we had been there an hour and a half. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and they tasted like soap. So, I guess I am only going for their hash browns. Oh well! Denny's is Denny's. read more

I give it 1 star. 3rd time there after dancing at Zendejas. Every time I've went here around 1:30 am -2:00am. The wait time to get served your food is way too long. Always under staffed. This last time I went we waited way over 1hour for our food. I tried to ask for a manager or someone in charge and the waitress told me there was no manager. Our waiter was nice. I would like to know why "curbside" means come inside and pick up your food? I ordered online selected curbside. I was then asked to enter the make,model, and color of my car. I pulled up and parked. I called the number on the sign that says reserved for curbside. The woman on the phone told me oh no you come inside and hung up. I think it is very misleading and the customer service was very poor. I have worked customer service for over 5 years and don't snap at people on the phone. I am not one to usually complain but this place was BAD. So, at first it took forever to get us a table, which was because they were short staffed I'm assuming? It was 1 AM. I don't know. Then our food took forever and we were trying to be patient but when we asked our waiter he said the chefs had been taking long all night and when our food had finally gotten there (after 40 minutes) our pancakes were burned, that's all I ordered, PANCAKES. It was my first time here, but will definitely be my last! I visited this Denny's 2 days ago because it was conveniently located by the Gymboree Play + Music gym that my baby goes to, and decided to have breakfast. Big mistake! The interior was outdated, and they were very poorly staffed. 2 waiters, 1 acting manager who was hiding in the office until my incident (will elaborate later), and 1 chef whom needed everything translated to him in Spanish by one of the waitress. They were quick to seat me, but I had to wait forever for them to take my order. The one star was for how quick my order came out. I was done within 30 minutes, and the waiter was quick to hand me my check. He went straight to assist me at the register. I pretty much had my hands full because my very active baby was running around so I was chasing after her. I handed my credit card to my server but right away he handed me my reciept and said "you forgot to put a tip", and handed me the receipt. The total for the entree was about $10, and I put down a $2 tip, and signed the receipt. He then handed me my receipt, and since my baby was running off, I stuffed the copy of the reciept in my purse and just rushed out. About 10 minutes later, while I got to the play gym, I was fumbling around for something in my purse and found my receipt - That idiot overcharged me about more than $20!!!! I work in retail and I know there may be times you accidently add an extra number before or after the total by mistake...but the all the numbers charged were completely different than my original $12 total - he even added the $2 as tip. I was sooo mad and dragged my baby back to Denny's to confront him. He saw me and he somehow looked embarrassed...and I explained to him what happened. Instead of apologizing or even speaking a single word (like telling me to wait while he look into it), he proceeded to look all throughout the cash drawer for the signed receipt...which he couldn't find. Really?!?! I was just there 10 minutes before and my signed copy of the merchant copy of the receipt just magically disappeared. He then just walked off and went to get the manager....they both pretended they had found my receipt, or my order...but I knew they didn't because he asked the waiter what I ordered so they could charge me correctly. They even had the nerve to put in the $2.00 tip in there. FINALLY, the manager offered a quick apology but the whole time, the waiter never said a word to me and acted like I was the one who was at fault that he tried to charge me for more and thought he could get away with it and not notice it because I was busy with the baby when he charged my card. EVERYONE PLEASE beware!!! This location is SHADY! The customer service sucks! I would never come here again!!! Please double check your receipts before you leave the restaurant!!! read more

I took my family for breakfast today at Denny's and ordered the grand slam special for $6.99. I asked to substitute pancakes for toast, however, they said that was not allowed. So basically two orders of pancakes for our grand slam went to waste. Literally to the trash! Because they would not substitute. Very disappointing customer service. Wasted food while children are starving in the world. Just yesterday I had my car serviced at Toyota and they honored an expired coupon for $150 while Denny's would not substitute toast for pancakes! It probably cost more labor and ingredients to make pancakes vs toast. Really? Extremely disappointed. I will never go to dennys every again! read more

There's nothing lower then one star , visited this Denny's and it was disgusting. Very dirty, whole pieces of food under the table we were going to be sat at, when I pointed it out the hostess sat us at a different table. We placed our drink order. While waiting I glanced towards their counter section, In disbelief I watched the manager or person in charge bandage a cooks thumb, I don't know what the severity of the injury was but I watched her bandage his wound and he went right back into the kitchen to flip pancakes, and how do I know this, like I said in disbelief of what had just happened I got up from my seat to see where the injured Person had gone. No washing of his hands no glove to prevent contact with food!! Just went right back to work!! This was unbelievable!! As I was standing by the kitchen I let the waitress know that we were leaving. No one cared, the waitress did walk over to let the woman know who had bandaged the cooks thumb but she had no reaction. We will not be returning!! read more

This Denny's is close to my knew home and every time we come here, they seem to be partially busy. They also seem to be under staffed as to let food collect at expo line! When we have ordered it took 30 minutes and than there's other customers that ordered after you did and they get there food faster! Waited 5 minutes to be seated, 10 mins to put in our order, and 31 mins to get our food (I used a timer to get an exact number after waiting so long for the other things). I had given our server the benefit of the doubt being the only one working the floor but she had no ambition to hustle and kept disappearing. There were 5 other tables in the dining area who equally received this poor service. Because I wanted this particular food, I decided to wait it out instead of leaving. When the food arrived, she tried to tell me they didn't have the dipping sauce I wanted which almost sent me over the edge. She at least said she would double check, did, and then gave me the sauce I wanted. Usually I can use another sauce but after waiting 46 minutes, I was in no mood to not have the food exactly how I wanted it. The food was good but service was horrible. Will never come to this Denny's again and only recommend it if you are on a date with someone you just met to test their patience and reactions in irritating situations. read more

There are many good breakfast places in the area, chains and independent restaurants. This was disappointing. Sticky table. No silverware, so breakfast cooled. Shells in eggs. No paper towels in bathroom. Hostess chewing gum. Server was attentive and friendly, but couldn't compensate for the rest of the meal. I won't go back. I'm always in this part of San Dimas because a lot of the businesses here give really good service but this is the worst Denny's I have ever been to! I am a server at Denny's and I know the POS system and when you order a slugger you're able to change the drinks to something else if you aren't feeling a coffee. She probably thinks I don't know that......two guys at a table next to me ordered two well done T - Bone steaks and here I am 15 minutes shy of an hour waiting for mine and my boyfriend's breakfast... Update: she took a complete hour to bring our food the hashbrowns were cold and the sausage was undercooked...I tip on a scale of $1-$10 depending on how well you did and today is the first time I don't tip at all.. read more

Been living in San Dimas for two years, been to this Denny's about eight times and during this Covid-19 Pandemic have order takeout about five times, each and every experience has been great. Went there with my daughter for breakfast, service was slow it was a weekday and it wasn't to busy, we were seated immediately and ordered our food, we waited a while before our waitress came to even take our order or bring our drinks, finally eating and next thing you know my daughter spots a cacaroach and jumps up and screams, I immediately told a worker and they acted like nothing, my daughter refused to be seated with the roach walking from the wall onto our table, finally a waiter comes and kills it and leaves we never got an apology and we didn't stay to finish our meals since that was just gross, the manager refused to give any discount said since we ate half the food but my daughter plate was still full and so was her glass of orange juice, needless to say I will never go back to that location again. read more

I was here last night and I was so impressed with the service I received. Marian was my server and she was incredibly attentive and overall really seemed to enjoy her job. At the end of the night, she looked at us and said that we looked familiar. That makes sense because we have gone there many times in the past. She then asked if we knew an Alex and we of course said yes, just thinking it was a small world. She said when we were there last time after his birthday party that he had left his birthday cards on the table filled with gift cards. His birthday party was over a month and a half ago and she saved them in hopes that we would come back in. I was blown away by her kindness and character. Most people would have just taken the gift cards and not said anything. What an amazing person and employee. Very impressed! read more

Well first off this Denny's is in desperate need of a renovation like bad floor to ceiling front to back not excluding the bathrooms. The food is Denny's decent portions for what some may consider a decent price. I'm a fan of the $2 $4 $6 $8 deal they have everything's on the special menu so that's where I start and finish with the food. The service is great a little slow but when I was at the restaurant it was busy so I guess it's understandable. Food was Denny's everything I expected Denny's to be nothing more nothing less. And all you EBT food stamp people need to get a job and learn how hard these servers have it here ! My husband and I go here once in awhile with our kids when we want the breakfast/lunch/dinner variety. We've never had terrible service here but I have noticed that they never seem to have enough servers to accommodate the customer flow. I've never had good service here that I can remember. This is probably the ONLY place I don't tip, and every server has earned their Lack of tip. I go into every place with the intention of tipping, but it's like the servers here are intentionally trying to be so bad to the point where there is absolutely no way I can justify giving them any extra money. But today, our server, Ryanne, set a new standard in awfulness. She started out ok. she seemed bored and rushed, but it's Saturday morning, I'm not expecting to be treated like queen Elizabeth. This girl is young. She doesn't want to be here. I get that, we're good. But then she took forever to bring our waters, and when she finally brought them, she just slammed them down and ran away. Still, not the end of the world. So we order. And we wait. and wait. We're waiting 45 minutes and she never comes to fill our coffee or check on us or anything. Finally she brings our food with the promise to return with the fruit that came with our meal (she never did. I never got that fruit.) since we've been waiting so long, were in a rush. Plus our 2 year old son wants to eat. But alas, we have no utensils. I wait a while, figuring I'll remind her when she comes with the fruit. But like I said, she never came back. Finally I approach the area where the servers get the drinks and say "can we have some utensils? We can't eat without them." Im trying to be as nice as possible. She gives me this disgusted, horrified look as though I was eating her firstborn in front of her, doesn't apologize or say anything for that matter, and tells her coworker "go give them three sets over there" and walks away. Wtf?! I'm annoyed now. We eat quickly, and go to pay (she never brought our check either.) the girl ringing us out seemed totally incompetent and it took her a while to figure out which table was ours and she didn't give us a receipt. I asked for it, so I can fill out a survey, and she seemed annoyed by the request. My standards are low: bring me everything I order and don't be an asshole. That's it. Do that, and you're getting 20%. Apparently that's asking too much of the employees at this establishment. read more
