My friends and I drove past another Denny's to come to this one. Very good customer service

My husband and I came to Denny's for dinner and the customer service was extremely unprofessional and unfriendly. Our server took forever to sit us down even though there were not a lot of people there . She also took awhile to get our orders . There was only one cook and 2 servers . One server was on her phone and the other no where to be found. They messed up our order and brought my husband his food little by little first the eggs then the pancakes later when he was done they bring the hash browns... hmmm ok? So we said thank you but no thank you and the server says to the cook keep the hash browns he didn't eat for someone else . Super gross !!! read more

I was just at this location and it was VERY busy ( graduation partys you can tell) but service was still great and I seemed to be getting everything in a timely manner, our waitress was stacy, she was very nice, upon leaving I left my bag by accident so I called & by chance Stacy answered & I told her what I ordered she went to check the seat it was there & I went to go get it! Dennys labels themselves Americas Diner. Well I guess that's appropriate. Due to how broken down this place is and the terrible service to go with it. It all stated when we walked in. Not one employee greeted us. I made eye contact with about three employees and not one employee took a second to greet my family and say one moment someone we'll be right with you. It wasn't busy. We had to ask to be seated and our server was under the influence of pot. His eyes were so red and shut. I'm surprised he didn't trip over his own feet walking. He messed up my order and the food was cold. Is this what we've come to? Horrible! And to think we were trying to save some time by going out to eat. Terrible! the service especially (it's a denny's so there's only so much I expect from the food). I'm writing this after just returning from here without being offered any service whatsoever. Waited for 20 mins for someone to show up to take my order and then had to leave. The servers completely forgot about me and gave me an indifferent look as I left. I'm pretty sure the geniuses wouldn't have realized yet that a customer just left because of delay in service. I generally avoid posting negative reviews for one-time issues but this isn't the first time the service at this denny's has been horrible. Management need to take this place seriously. Any place you go these days, attendants at least says hello to you and tells you that someone will be right with you but this place, no one greeted me. For service at 3 AM on a Friday night, I was thoroughly impressed by the number of staff and the hastiness of the service. Like all foods at Denny, it's usually a hit or miss, and in this instance it was definitely a hit. Hands down probably one of the best Denny's I've been to at night. read more

This is probably one of the worst Denny's. Was not at all acknowledged when first walked in, then finally the same dude decided he might try to do his job after all, and strolled up to the front only to tell us there is a 20 min wait when there are clearly TONS of open tables on a random weekday afternoon. Was going to walk out when another dude decided they do have tables after all and seated us. Have to flag down people during our meal. There's a bunch of (young) staff chilling doing nothing. I will reserve Denny's to those meals at 2am when you are semi drunk and nothing is open but during the day time I would say bring your business elsewhere where the employees don't actually hate their job. read more

I had trouble getting someone on the line on a busy sunday morning. I finally got someone after about 6 attempts and she asked what i would like to order then immediately asked if she could place me on hold for a few minutes. After a few minutes someone just hung the phone up. Ugggghh! i drove into the store to complain about my experience to the manager Maria. I wasn't too happy upon arrival but her great demeanor and ability to diffuse the situation made me feel good. She comped my order for my kids and myself and expedited it. This is probably the worst Denny's branch in San Jose (service wise). Food always takes forever and a day to come out, and I agree with the other reviewers about the salad coming out at the end of the meal, what the hell is up with that. Normally when that happens I just tell the server that I no longer want it and to take it off my bill. A salad is supposed to come at the beginning of your meal, idiot. It's not rocket science. I used to come here a lot with my boyfriend when he lived down the street but since then he's moved so we haven't been to this location for a while. I'm assuming the service is still the same though. I came to this place with my dad, my sister and her kids and I will never stop here again. There service sucks! I was seated and waited for 35mns and no one bother to take our order. The servers were helping everyone else who got there after us and it was very upsetting. I went to talk to this guy that was working there and but it didn't help at all. This review is purely for the service. Our waitress was all over the place. I would have guessed she was drunk. The worst part was the manager. He ended up charging us for the meal. We asked him to split it 3 ways. We clearly told him our orders and how we wanted it split. He ended up adding food we didn't even order and on top of that it took him about 30 minutes to split the check. Every time we told him how to do it, he did it wrong. We clearly told him multiple times. He even had the nerve to tell me not to get frustrated. It's hard not to Jim, especially when you're not listening to anything your customers are saying. I always go to this Dennys but this has been the worst experience I have ever had. We wasted more time waiting for him to split the check then we did eating. And after all of the wrong checks, he just gave us half of it for free and "called it even". I wouldn't call it even. I'd call it an unnecessary headache. Get it together, Jim. Denny's - Trying to split a check 3 ways, yet failing every time. - Diners Near Me - San Jose, California

Very rarely do I ever base a review on great service - because honestly, that rarely ever happens, especially at chain restaurants. My experience at Denny's last night was an exception. My server - Armando was kicking butt with 5-6 tables at the same time. They seemed to be very short staffed but that didn't stop him from providing excellent service. He constantly made sure all the tables were okay with the wait - and checked up on more 3-4 times throughout the meal. I don't believe I've even received that kind of service at so called "fancy" restaurants. Props to him! read more

This Denny's store is probably my favorite because the servers are always so nice. It also reminds me of all the late night dinners with friends and early breakfast with family. I like this store because they're not rude at groups that just wants to hang out... they won't kick you out or make you feel unwelcome. The Grand Slams is always good... Cheap but you get so much! Prime Rib Skillet is probably my favorite right now, especially when it's extra spicy. T-Bone Steak is also good but the size isn't very big considering it's $15.99. The only thing I hate is that, they change their soups everyday. I can't ever seem to go there at the right day when they have clam chowder, lol. read more

This is my family's go to Denny's because of the service and close location to our house. The staff is always attentive and friendly. They always tell us about the special deals and seasonal items they have. Today our server recommended me the pumpkin pancakes platter since we are regulars and know I almost always order the grand slam with regular pancakes. The pancakes were soooo good and instead of being topped with normal butter, it was topped with whipped cream and spices (nutmeg and cinnamon I'm not sure). My dad ordered the turkey dinner which is like a thanksgiving dinner with some slices of turkeys, mashed potatoes with gravy, garlic bread, and steamed veggies. I don't like turkey but he said it was quite delicious. Overall all the food was scrumptious and service was wonderful, definitely going to keep coming here for years to come read more

I have to say,when I called the phone reception was choppy on their side and it was irritating to repeat myself over and over again,I had to wait 5 minutes as he was writing down the order.First off I ordered a blackberry and strawberry milk shake,our server who repeated strawberry and black berry milkshake on the phone,they made us a blackberry and Oreo milkshake,and I guess that's ok... I also ordered a build your own grand slam with 2 buttermilk pancakes 2 wheat pancakes but if I couldn't have 4 pancakes they could've just told me and switch it over to buttermilk biscuits.But they didn't give me the wheat pancakes in the end (I had someone go and pick it up so that was on me) but otherwise the food tasted pretty bad,I ordered a club sandwich and the bread was burnt quite a bit,and as I said earlier They gave me the wrong kind of milkshake.I can understand it was busy and all,but honestly if you wrote all this down and is referring to it,how could you Get it wrong.
