The best part about this Denny's is that there is not a huge wait everytime we go there. We used to go to the Fremont one before, and that one had lines at odd times too! I am NOT a fan of Denny's. We went here one day, my family, to eat breakfast. We ordered the same thing: grits, grilled ham steak, scrambled eggs, and their new gingerbread toast. Well, first of all, the ham steak was good. Juicy and flavorful. But, steak? Seriously? It was just a big piece of ham that had been cooked in the pan. The grits, too. They weren't bad, but unless I'm wrong, I thought grits were supposed to have friend CORN MEAL. Now, what we ate was simple FRIED POTATO SLICES. Go figure. As for the eggs, you can't go wrong with them. Kind of bland, but I dunked them in ketchup and they tasted fine. Gingerbread toast sucked. Bland, and after being dunked in the sauce, too sweet. My friend's home was lacking some food for my hunger, so I went around the corner to get some breakfast. The sudden urge for hashbrowns tempted my tongue. Where can I get breakfast at 9:30 p.m. in this area? I haven't been to a Denny's in so long. There was a face lift here with a diner feel. Diner feel or not, getting seated at this location seems to be an issue. I was standing there for quite some time before anyone acknowledge me and my friend. I thought we weren't going to be seated since there was a party before us, but we managed to get seated before them; like 10 minutes later. After being seated, the service was improved with Betty. She's been there forever since the days when I used to come here as a youngster searching for the essence of cool. As usual, a menu is my worst nightmare as the items look appealing as the pages turn. I had to stay focus and get what I was after, which was something with hashbrowns. I ordered some variation of the French Toast Slam, but the french toast was filled with peaches. I subsituted the eggs for hashbrowns. The meal also comes with two sausages and two strips of bacon; all for $5.99. The french toast did taste quite peachy, but I wasn't going to stand on my seat and jump for joy. If you become a regular (like my coworkers and I were when we were at Piedmont) then you get great service. The servers warm up to you and how can you not like teachers who insult each other and spend 30 minutes at the toy grabbing machine (*COUGH Delsener and Truong*). Thank you, Denny's, for being useful. There is no art to what you do, but by golly if I can't count on you to do it. 1. Chicken fried steak (does that make no sense, or am I missing something?): I only really know how one "chicken-fries" a steak because Alton Brown cooked it once. I never ate the Denny's version, but my friend loves it. Comfort food, he calls it. One star. 2. Huge portions. It's nuts. I can't give or take away stars for this because I think you're expected to know this about Denny's. I did have an entertaining morning here once when a group of very petite women got their food and managed to eat 1/4 of it. Kinda classic if you ask me. 3. The kid's menu makes it possible for me to a) spend $3, and b) get full and clean my plate. It's actually got a theme, too. Outer space!! One star. 4. I don't know if I should give Denny's credit for this, but that place is great for creativity. I went in there last week with two friends and an unfinished storyline for a comic, and we left with a ton of ideas. Maybe it was those petite women. Either way... one more star. Sadly, my daughter's favorite restaurant is Denny's. (she's a kid. What can you expect!? haha) Thus, we stop at Denny's here or there. I admit, the service was decent enough, even during a busy time, but there was something about this particular Denny's that made the experience less than pleasant. Maybe it was because the seats were torn and sunken in. Maybe it was because the tables looked like no one had cleaned them properly. Maybe it was because it was dark and dreary inside. I KNOW. It's DENNY'S, not a 5-star restaurant. But still, I don't plan on going back to this particular Denny's - even if it's the only place open. Anyhow, as far as the food went - it's still Denny's. The Strawberry Mango Pucker (one of the 4 or 5 selections of fizz drinks they have) came out unmixed; you can see the various layers of stuff they used to make the drink. We did come here pretty late (around 12ish) for some late night hot chocolate cravings from the wifey. I know it was a bit late, but really does that mean we had to have bad service? OMG!!! The best customer service ever!!! Young and professional staff amazing to see young adults conduct their self is such a professional manor. Everything was good except I wanted scrambled eggs and I was given sausages. ; ; When I spoke to the waitress what she wrote down on her order she never took down the scramble eggs. Service is fast, food is hot, refills you have to practically beg for, skimping every single penny they can affected their tips, and our overall enjoyment of the place. Regardless of the issue with saving money, and cutting back on refills, no one wants a cold cup of coffee with their hot breakfast, if you order hot coffee, otherwise I had to throw mine in ice, and my tip, well below the minimum, I was not happy with the service at all, and they were speaking spanish to my dinner friend, and not looking at me, ignoring me, that was rude, this is the USA and it's important to respect the person paying the bill, and speaking english to someone who may look spanish but doesn't speak it. Just to clarify this up, we all know it's important to speak the language of your customers, but first, speak english, serve the food hot, check on your customers, and then bring the bill, not have someone walk up and ask for the bill. Terrible ending work to a great chain. This restaurant will become a fail if you want anything but GOOD service, you will be suffering here if you come on a weekend night, as the crowd is practically drunk, throwing up in the parking lot, or at the door(sorry families!) so avoid this place during the "WEE" hours as this is why we come here, during odd hours when we don't want to cook. They sat us down next to the loudest place in the restaurant, away from all the other patrons, I basically told them, I am going to sit with everyone else, where we can speak to each other, the clashing of plates, and everyone speaking spanish over our heads disrupted the overall environment and ambiance of an entertaining and eventful evening. If I was not a pleasant type of guy, I am sure I would have complained, but it was best to enjoy my hot meal, and leave. It is a Denny's restaurant, but guess what this is one of the better restaurant in the area, I have been coming to this Denny's for years, it was a great place to hang out after a High School Football game. I do not know if that is saying the other restaurant are that much worse, or this Denny's is much better. I will tell you, a friend of mine, my son and I showed up here for a mid-morning breakfast, and we were sat down very fast with our drink order taken that very moment. With a few minutes later our drinks where at our table as we were having our conversion. The waiter was friendly and asked if we were ready to order, of course we were not so he gave us sometime to figure out what we want. Within five minute he returned to refill our drinks and make sure the coffee was hot and the drinks had enough ice, plus take our order for food. We did not have to wait long before our food was at the table and we were enjoying a good quality hot food. So if you are looking for a place that will give good service, hot food and the drink on time, plus do everything right just liked you ask, then you need to come to this Denny's. read more

Another late night dining experience after having rounds of alcohol at the club....came here with my cousins and friends. While the waiter seats my group of people, someone stops us. Guy: Hey! I have to admit, I've been to many Denny's but I love coming back to this one. They service over there is great. They are very welcoming, always check up on you, and make sure your food is good. I love the milk shakes! I just tried out that prime rib sandwich with fries and cheese inside the sandwich. Need I say more? Cooked perfectly. Juicy and tender with enough seare (sp?) to give that grill taste. The steak my wife ordered was very good too. A lot of the flavor was retained eventhough it was well done. Everything just tastes better when the service is good. I know it can het busy over there sometimes so there wouldn't be any parking, but you just have to have a strategic plan of attack. Hey, I know complaining is bad, but when I'm paying for my own food and when you put the tip inside of the bill without even letting customers know, and you give me the pancakes 10 minutes late? That's called bad service, four times in a row. And you MAKE me tip you? Wow, for what, late pancakes to eat with cold eggs, bacon, and sausages? Yeah, thanks buddy! So the fourth time, I'm a little buzzed and I walk up to the counter. "Hey, excuse me, but you guys forgot my pancakes," mentioned I, slightly annoyed. They said they'd make it. It took them a little longer than the usual time (usually takes them 10 minutes when they forget it). I go up to the counter and I tell them that it's okay, because, you know, my food's getting more cold than the service. They insisted upon me eating it twice. I just take it and I bring it back. It tastes a little different to me. A little more strange, but very subtle. Also, the consistency was a LITTLE off. I know I was intoxicated, but the designated driver also said the same. 5 STARS FOR THE AWESOME SERVICE. The staff is very nice and the food is good too. We ordered the Nachos and because we can't have meat, the server added soy-protein to our Nachos, all on his own... which we thought was way cool! Apparently they cook their veggies, fish and meat separately on separate grills and have separate fryers which is trés awesome. (Tip for Halal, Veggie, Kosher eaters). Love the coffee refills, and the pancakes are so yum! LOVE THEIR VEGGIE OMELETTE WITH HASH BROWNS. The only gripe I have is that the veggie burger was a tad too dry, could do with mayo of some sort.
