This particular dining experience is quite possibly the worst I've ever had! I;ve recieved better service and a more accurate order delivery from the McD's across the street. The diner was dead to say the least, my girlfriend and I were told to go ahead and seat ourselves so we did. We had been seated for over half an hour when our waitress finally got off a bar stool she had been sitting on since we had arrived, I wouldn't have guessed her to be an employee the way she was lounging while there was work to be done. We both gave simple orders straight from the menu with no intricate requests or crazy substitutions. I asked for a side of jalepenos and my lady asked for an order of wheat toast as an addition because her choice did not come with toast according to the menu. Despite her lack of enthusiasm and effort to get off her duff and approach us, we remained very polite to her through the whole order taking process even after I noticed that she wasn't taking note or writing anything down. She had a glazed look in her eyes along with a blank and confused stare upon her face. My girlfriend and I were both very hungry and at the point in which food was finally delivered we had been there wll over an hour, not what you'd expect from a classic American diner such as Denny's. My order was completely wrong, it was a scramble but not the scramble I had ordered, and my jalepenos were no where to be found, I let it slide because I'm not that picky. My girlfriend's order was mostly correct with a few exceptions: her toast did not arrive and she had no butter nor any syrup for her pancakes. The only condiment on the table was ketchup and I had to actually get up and walk to where our waitress was sitting in order to get her attention. I guess my best impression of an air traffic controller was not enough to take her attention from the conversation she was having with another woman. She acted as if I were bothering her for the toast, Salt/pepper, jalepenos, butter and syrup. I didn't even mention the fact that my order was completely wrong. We attempted to eat as slow as possible despite our severe hunger in an attempt to ensure we got our sides before the meal was completely over. Both our glasses sat empty for almost the entire meal and was only refilled one time upon my request when the toast and condiments were deliver just in time before I took my last few bites and my girlfriend had just slide her plate of pancakes in front of her. Considering the average individual would like the butter to melt nicely between the warm pillow top flap jacks, these had become a lost cause as they had already cooled to below room temperature. So i had an empty plate and a bowl of peppers and my girlfriend had wheat toast and cold pancakes in front of her which would not melt the butter we had finally got our hands on. At this point I'm fuming and my girlfriend was doing her very best to calm me so I don't flip out. When I go to a restaurant I don't need a server to shower me with attention or hover around my table in case my glass gets low but; I believe I am paying three or four times what the food is worth so that I may get a correct order in a timely manor. I should get what I have asked for, in addition (i.e. condiments), to arrive before the food does, my glass should very rarely reach the bottom and I would like to be greeted by my server as soon as they're available upon first being seated, if nothing else but to acknowledge us and inform that they will return asap to start our dining experience. I believe in more than fair tiping if service is provided to a simple standard. I decide not to make a scene but just very calmly explain to the manager how I felt about the service provided to me by his staff when I went to the register to pay. He didn't react the way one might assume the manager of anything would react when confronted with a displeased customer with very specific complaints. He expression told me he was very offended and hi speech became defensive as if I were insulting him personally. He then attempted to "black-ball" me and cut me off, he called the waitress over thinking that I would be too intimated by the situation to tell the waitress what I found unsatisfactory from her service, I was not swayed. I was polite but firm and after I explained it to the both of them, the manager still not attempt to comp that meal or the next. I calmly told them that I will never return here to eat and neither with any of my family or friends. LoL, the best part was finding out my lady had left her sweater in the booth we were sitting at and I had to return just a few moments after reading them the riot-act and walking out without leaving a tip. Don't eat here, ever! read more
