This Denny's has excellent and friendly service. Sat a the bar and right away Mr. Mario-Manager, asked what I wish to drink . Then Alan, came and took my order. To my surprise, not only did they have the regular CHOLULA Hot Sauce but also the GREEN PEPPER one too! That made my day! Mr. Mario, hank you for having an excellent Team! Blessings to All!

2023 Turkey meal cold but not dry

I have been going to this Denny's for MANY yrs. Always looking forward to their holiday turkey meal. Unfortunately, last yr. & especially today was a total disappointment. I was served a couple of pieces (not slices) of dry leathery turkey which was smothered in gravy as to conceal the dryness but tough & dry when turned over. I returned it stating I'd been served beef jerky. After another long wait I was served another plate. Somewhat better in the sense that the pieces of turkey had fewer dry patches. Broccoli was cold. total dissapointment, even more so as I now realize the slice of pumpkin pie is no longer included. I'm not one to complain. However, pie aside How Pathetic!

    Sitting at counter chilling!

What a great meal with even better service from Max. Professional, friendly, and attentive. After a tough morning at work having this wellness break with awesome food and service was welcoming. Thank you Denny's

Very good food! The portion size was great and super delicious steak. Lots of parking and we were seated very quickly. Service was fast and people were friendly. The only thing was that the environment didn't seem so clean, and the chairs smelled weird. Like their indoor design though.

Amazing service and the food is delicious. Short waits and the orders come as asked no messing up!

They are open from 6 to Midnight every day. This is my go to Denny's restaurant because of the customer service. The parking is close to building with handicap parking in front. They also do pickup orders and have dedicated parking for those. You have to wait to be seated but there was no wait when I went. I was seated right away. The table was very clean and well organized. The greaters and servers were very kind. The music is festive and not over powering. Its Christmas time. There is a light humm from the diners and light clanking of utensils. There were a lot of people but there was still plenty of seating. My order was taken within three minutes of sitting. I already knew what i wanted. The Everyday Slam with French toast, 2 slices of bacon, 2 eggs over medium. Breakfast is served all day. The French toast was fluffy with a hint of vanilla. It was cold unfortunately but still delicious. The eggs were cooked to perfection and the bacon was cooked well. I would have liked a little more crispy but it was still good. It only took 10min for the food to come out which was fast considering the volume of diners. At Denny's when you're finished eating you have to take the receipt to the front cashier to pay for your food. Then go back to your table to give you tip if you're paying cash.

The service here is quick and friendly and they make sure you always have coffee and it's hot (and there is always plenty of cream, 2 big pluses in my book). There is a daily white board of specials with 4 or 5 things that aren't on the menu, but I always go for something Mexican because it's just. so. good. My go to is the huevos rancheros. That sauce is *chef's kiss*. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered here. The big debate is biscuits and gravy or the banana loaf. Both are solid choices, but the loaf is great to take home. This trip the hubs got the Rambo special which met his approval. We both like our eggs over medium and they do them right here with runny yolks and cooked whites. We leave here happy and full and satisfied every time. This spot is a dependable staple that has earned its place in our rotation.

As busy as it was, I was still seated immediately in a booth. The interior is all yellow with a cowboy theme. It feels a bit dated, but everything is clean and comfortable. I was greeted and brought water and a menu almost immediately I ordered the Santa Fe Skillet (Three eggs, ham, Ortega chiles, jack cheese, avocado, $16.95) with a side of hash browns and sourdough toast. I was surprised when my food arrived only five minutes after ordering. They run a very efficient kitchen! When my food arrived, the server offered me their home made mild or spicy salsa to go with it. I chose the mild salsa, and it went great with the dish. The skillet tasted great and was filling. My server, Betsy, was very friendly and provided quick service from start to finish. I took my time eating, and was still in and out in a bit under 30 minutes.

I recently went back after many, many years away and I have to say that the current owners have done a fantastic job of keeping what was always special about the place while updating some of the less-than-stellar things that existed. I think the scaled down menu really does the place justice - because you can still get a Dick's Scramble, but they've kept the menu minimal so everything feels intentional and tastes delicious. It's still diner food, but that's exactly why you're here. The coffee is strong and hot, the eggs are fluffy, and the service is friendly and fantastic. Love the old photos of Costa Mesa everywhere and the outdoor seating for families with pets. Dick's is a staple of CM, and you can tell it will continue to be with this great for years to come. Pulling into the parking lot, I knew this was a very well loved restaurant because the lot was packed ~ and it's a pretty good sized lot! Walking up to the door, it's pretty obvious, in a good way, that it's an establishment that's been around for a while. With bustling deli and pastry cases near the entrance, Benjie's instantly gives off a Cheers vibe, even for this first timer. There's a counter to sit at if you're dining solo, or if you've got more people in your party there are plenty of traditional booths and tables. The menu is extensive with all of the traditional deli/diner favorites. In order to try more, we decided to split everything. We ordered Reuben Fritters as a starter, a Pastrami sandwich on a French roll, and cheese blintzes for dessert. The Reuben Fritters were a nice take on the sandwich with a mixture of tender corned beef and the perfect amount of cheeses and sauerkraut rolled in bread crumbs and fried to perfection. The pastrami sandwich was piled high with meat and served with a side of onion rings. We were already getting full at this point, but we couldn't resist the cheese blintzes that were patiently waiting for us to give them a try. I swear I don't live under a rock, but I've never had blintzes before and these were VERY good! We went with the traditional preparation, although I read someone's review that said these could also be requested fried. Definitely worth a try next time. I'm imagining pure decadence! Our server was friendly and kept on top of keeping our beverages filled and checking to see if we needed anything. We left filled with excellent comfort food and an overall great experience. Looking forward to trying some more things on the menu soon!

You can tell they've been around for a long time in the best way. It has that classic deli feel with a mix of diner, café, and old school market vibes. Service was friendly and helpful, even during the lunch rush. We went around 1 PM on a Thursday, so it was definitely busy, but the wait felt expected and worth it. Portion wise, they do not hold back. You really get a bang for your buck here. The smoked fish platter was the highlight for me. I genuinely loved everything on it. It's perfect for sharing (or for leftovers ). It almost feels like a DIY bagel experience you get to mix and match different toppings and flavors, which I'm obsessed with. Also... I tried an egg bagel for the first time and it lowkey changed my life. They make their bagels in house and sell them by the half dozen but they do sell out. By the time we finished eating, they were already out, so if you want some to take home, grab them as soon as you walk in. The Benjie Special was solid super flavorful and packed with a generous amount of pastrami. It did lean a bit greasy for our taste, but that really just comes down to personal preference. They also offer a variety of cold deli items by the pound, which adds to that classic New York-style deli experience. Overall: A cozy, old school deli with generous portions, quality food, and that nostalgic mom and pop charm. Definitely a spot we'd come back to.

I've been bringing my 3 daughters here for father/daughter breakfasts since then almost every Sunday. They saw my kids grow up here. My wife and daughters knew the servers and always felt like VIP. Since Pop's officially closed, we were initially saddened that our familiar meals were gone. The taste, flavors, and hospitality kept us coming back year after year. We have roots here and cannot abandon them. So of course, we came back to see if we could continue the legacy of this unique space. We've been back a few more times since reopening and we can honestly say, we're back!! The food is still great if not better. All the cooks stayed and the same food I love stayed as well. We have new servers that are working hard to make it feel comfortable. The ambiance is still amazing and stays true to what kept this gem alive for so many decades. Don't give up on places like this. June's (I believe they are changing the name back to Pop's soon?) is located off Main Street in downtown Santa Ana. There's plenty of paid street parking around, and they have indoor and outdoor seating. I would recommend sitting outdoor or in the left hand main room, because the right side where we sat felt like the overflow area that doesn't get attended too as frequently as the other areas. Service was nice in that everyone was pleasant and apologetic for the delays in service, however it took a very long time to get anything from a menu to a water refill. They also didn't pace the serving of food well, as my wife would get her food, and then I'd have to wait another 10 minutes for my meal to arrive. On the food front, the portions are huge. I got an omelette that tasted good, but was unfortunately made incorrectly. Their fried zucchini is fresh and also massive, you definitely get your moneys worth. I also tried the French toast which was just ok, it wasn't very flavorful but came in a large portion. The place is very no-frills, but still pretty good for what it is. I think this place is going through growing pains with the new ownership, but I would certainly give it another shot. If you're in the area and looking for a no-frills diner with big portions, then look no further than here.
