Sunday morning We tried a couple of spots in Old Town Orange and another spot in Santa Ana, everything was packed! So we said Dennys shouldn't be that busy!? Wrong, it was packed! We said enough driving around, let's eat! Almost every table in the place was occupied, about a 5 minute wait and we were seated. We were helped immediately by Jose R., very young man, super attentive! Our order was out within 15 minutes at max... food was delicious... Not once did my coffee mug go dry! He was spot on! We had a funeral reception at this location and I was amazed. We were given the back room which was closed off for privacy. The restaurant accommodated the time frame, which needed to be moved up almost an hour (we called and asked if we could arrive "now" basically). The staff was busy the entire time and very attentive. Props to Johanny our waitress. She was amazing and professional from start to finish. She definitely stood out as a great employee. We usually don't go to this restaurant, (Denny's in general) but based on the staffs desire to treat people like family we will definitely put it on our radar. I had not been to a Denny's restaurant in a long time. My expectations going in were pretty low. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated My only negative was that our table looked worn (see photo); I suppose it was due to using a harsh cleaning chemical. The rest of the furnishings looked in great condition. The restaurant has some nice outdoor areas too. Our waitress Elizabeth was very attentive. I appreciated her friendly and positive attitude. She had our refills brought before being asked. The food came out fairly quickly. It tasted really good; much better than typical coffee shop cuisine. I would recommend this location. I was there on Christmas Day. I had a number of add ons as well as spilled my iced tea all over the table. MAX was my server. He was exemplary. Although it was very busy, MAX was always there and punctual with my order. Nothing was missed. Every detail was addressed. All the servers at this location are outstanding. This Denny's has to be one of the best Denny's I've ever been to. Not only was the decor giving a fun,welcoming environment but the music and the happy staff set the tone of the positive and inviting atmosphere. When we walked in we were instantly greeted by the manager. She was so upbeat and friendly! Being it was Sunday, there were so many people waiting but when I asked her how long the wait to my surprise she said 15 minutes. Sure enough, we were seated within the time given. Our host, Oswaldo, who sat us was also friendly and helpful. He too had such an upbeat and positive tone as he spoke with my party and sat us. I expected it to be awhile for our server to greet us because of how busy they were. Nevertheless, within 5 or so minutes, our wonderful server, Jenny, introduced herself. With a beaming smile and happy, she made a wonderful first impression. Throughout the rest of the time dining, Jenny was consistent with great service! Accompanied by a wonderful attitude, checking in on us regularly, she kept a positive tone and always came to the table with a smile. 4.5 stars for a Denny's?! I was shocked that a chain diner restaurant could rate so highly on Yelp. After trying the food, I can confirm that it's ratings are well deserved. I visited on a weekend late night and it was pretty busy inside. The servers were super friendly and attentive. We ordered the original grand slam with chocolate banana pancakes and the ultimate omelette. Wow. The hash browns and eggs were perfectly seasoned! The hash browns were a golden crispy brown. The omelette was generously stuffed with veggies and cheese. Who would've known that a chain diner could do so well! read more

I had an hour to kill so I stopped in for breakfast. This Denny's has been tastefully remodeled since my last visit -- even the menu was rehabbed and offers "deluxe" pancakes. The outdoor patio is a nice option for those who want to eat out during these Covid times, but don't want to be in a crowded dining room. The men's bathroom must have had some plumbing issues, to put it politely, but plumbing issues are bound to happen. So is life. I had one of the "slam" breakfasts. The pancakes were awesome -- hands down the best part of the meal. I was thinking, five stars all the way... but the eggs, bacon, and sausage were lukewarm and overcooked. I know those foods don't hold heat well, but I'm a super fast eater, which means they didn't come out hot. I wish the plates were heated or the food had been left under a heating lamp. I upgraded my hash browns to a fruit cup. The apples and strawberries were great, but my cantaloupe was translucent and shiny, like it was frozen and thawed. Coffee was included and was hot and promptly refilled, but nothing special. My server was polite checked on me a few times. No complaints. In the end, the bill came out to $15 and change which was overpriced. Aside from the pancakes, the food was mediocre at best. I can quickly think of a dozen places offering a better meal at this price. While there is a nostalgia factor dining at places like Denny's, it can't hold a candle to competitor chains like Snooze, Original Pancake House, and Flappy Jack's. read more

She walks over to take our order and was super nice, memorized everyone's entire order, didn't miss a single thing, had refills and checks on time, and was serving half of the restaurant. Ok, so I am not a fan of Dennys. I mean, I've grown up on grand slams, the value menu, and I've tried every dinner item as well. You see, it's my dads favorite place to eat and for as long as I can remember, I have tried to honor and appease him by accompanying him and subjecting myself to what I considered a sub-par meal and compelled service from folks who seemed to hate their job. However, that all changed today! This ONE experience at this establishment, in particular, has redeemed Denny's in the most surprising and pleasing of ways. I helped my brother move today. To compensate me he said he'd treat to breakfast. I was excited with all the possibilities before me, then he said, "let's go to Denny's." I was disappointed and even confused, my brother knows that I ONLY eat at Denny's to fulfill my daughter duties. I must have given him the nastiest of looks; he had the gall to say so... We arrived, and walked to the front where two lovely young ladies, hostesses, greeted us warmly and expeditiously lead us to our table. We had only been seated about a minute before our server, with her bright and warm smile, took our drink order promptly. I must mention that every worker in this place from table busser to server were all present, professional, attentive and ready to serve...RARE! The food was warm, pleasantly presented, and the coffee hot! I cannot tell you how the couple of Denny's I frequent with my pops have measly portions and the food looks like it was made with no pride, or how the tables are sticky and the floor still littered with crumbs from the family that left an hour ago. That Is Not the case here!! It's clean, with a lively and cheerful ambiance that provides for the most pleasant of dining experiences. It is evident that there is true leadership and management here. In fact, when I went to pay, I had the honor and pleasure of speaking to its crown jewel, Luz, the manager who orchestrates and delegates with the most graceful, yet commanding of presence. It was evident that Luz, not only holds her own standard of excellence, but also inspires and instills it in her staff. I was compelled to compliment her efforts while I was there, but even more so, here on this platform so that this Denny's gets its well deserved review, referral, and kudos. Excellent customer service. Clean facility. Just gorgeous inside. They have two patio sections and you can bring your pet to eat with you out on the patio. The patio is covered. They also have outside heaters. It's a beautiful patio setup. The food was very delicious. I ordered the french toast Grand slam. I highly recommend this Denny's to everyone. This is the first Denny's I've ever been to where it's actually beautiful inside. I like the little bar seating area. It's very nice. Good job to the manager and staff.
