    New Cali Taco Skillet
    Van D.

As always this neighborhood Denny's on the northwest side does not disappoint. The service is friendly and fast. The food is consistently good and they go above and beyond to make sure you're satisfied. The new Cali taco skillet is yummy and pretty filling as it comes with 3 flour tortillas. The pancakes are always delicious and The OG can be added to any meal. You can also add a beautiful fried whole jalapeño. The berry stuffed French Toast slam is very sweet so be prepared for the super sugar rush. You can't go wrong with anything on the breakfast menu. Staff turnover is low so you see the same friendly smiles when you dine at this location. Shout out to Pauline, Brenda and Julie who are always knowledgeable, warm and welcoming and just fabulous at their job!

We were seated quickly and once we let the wait staff know we couldn't hear over the music (we're getting old), they quickly moved us to another table. Our waitress, Samantha N., was friendly, efficient, and quick to retrieve take-home boxes for us. I had the berry stuffed French toast slam and my BFF had the bourbon chicken skillet. Both were served quickly and piping hot.

It hit the spot. Those strawberry vanilla crepes a great after breakfast dessert. Service was friendly & quick --always sit at the counter if you're in a hurry. It's Denny's dress casual, but be clean lol

The potatoes were amazing, the biscuits were great, and the gravy was so good! There's a small indoor seating area that feels like a modern diner and they have plenty of tables under the pergola outside, where there's vines, birds, and flowers, which feels very relaxing.

The interior is modernized (not overdone), clean, and welcoming, with a nice quote on the wall that adds character. I ordered the breakfast burrito ($11). It's simple but very well seasoned (scrambled eggs, potatoes, and cheddar cheese). No meat, which I was craving, but the herbs and spices definitely carry the flavor. Not sure what they use, but it's tasty. Portion-wise, it's a solid medium-to-large burrito and comes split in half, so it could easily be shared. I've seen bigger burritos elsewhere, but this one is filling enough. That said, $11 feels a bit pricey for something so simple. I totally understand inflation, but I think adding a protein option like bacon, ham, or sausage would really elevate it and make the price feel more justified. Service was quick; about five minutes total and the cashier was very friendly. I mentioned it was my first time there and that I'm part of Yelp Elite. I kind of wish there had been a bit more engagement at that point, like suggesting a popular item or checking with the manager about anything for Yelpers. Not a dealbreaker at all, just a missed opportunity to go the extra mile. Overall, good food, chill environment, friendly service, and efficient turnaround.

It was busy during the lunch hour on a Sunday, so we got our name down on the clipboard waitlist. It was about a 20-30 min wait for a party of 6, with 6-7 smaller parties ahead of us. The food was good, and portions are very generous! I enjoyed the chicken fried steak over hash browns with eggs. Expect to take leftovers back if you're a small eater. Service was friendly and welcoming. What can improve: interior temp/AC - felt a bit hot/stuffy and couldn't tell if the AC was on inside, though it was better than the 100 degrees outside. The indoor seating place is well placed and doesn't feel too crowded. Being from out of town, been fortunate to have their breakfast and lunch. Breakfast: had the chicken fried steak, egg and hashbrown. Big portion enough to take some home. The breakfast was good but nothing flavorful to brag about but what you would expect for a good chicken fried steak. Cooked perfect. Lunch: had the fried burger and regular fries. The burger was a good size, seasoned well and cooked (medium) as requested. The fries were plain and i would recommend the curly fries. I also had the sampler plate. Onion rings: cut and cooked good. Fried pickles: tasted as they should. Cheese curds: batter well but needed and little longer to cook. The cheese had that laffy taffy stretch. Chicken wings: buffalo. The flavor and cook was tasteful but just too small. About the size of a fun size snicker. Overall: the service and food is still great. I recommend this place for sure. FYI, they do have pastries that looked good but I didn't get any.

Instead, you walk in and immediately wonder if you've stepped into the wrong business. Shelves of trinkets, cards, and knick‑knacks greet you first, a full gift shop, and for a moment you're standing there, confused, scanning for a hostess who never appears. Then you notice the sign‑in sheet. Write your name, your party size, and wait. It feels old‑school, almost nostalgic, like something from a diner that's been around long enough to earn the right to do things its own way. When they call your name, you're led through what feels like a maze, rooms inside rooms, hallways that twist, tables tucked into corners, and finally a dining room decorated with a Viking boat and family portraits that look like they date back to the mid‑20th century. It's quirky, unexpected, and strangely charming in a way only small‑town institutions can pull off. The staff is kind, the sort of people who've probably worked here long enough to know half the regulars by name. The placemats are printed with ads for local businesses, a reminder that this place is stitched into the fabric of Visalia. The menu is a long laminated sheet, the kind you flip over once or twice just to make sure you didn't miss anything. I ordered the keto plate, bacon, sausage, three eggs, and a small bowl of cottage cheese topped with avocado slices. Simple, straightforward, exactly what it says it is. The eggs were room temperature, which took a little of the comfort out of the dish, but everything else was fine. Not great, not bad, just breakfast. Valhalla is interesting. The name promises Vikings, but what you get is an American diner wrapped inside a gift shop, wrapped inside a labyrinth of rooms. It's the kind of place you try once because curiosity brought you there. Whether you come back depends on what you're looking for. For me, this was a last‑minute solo brunch, a little adventure, a new spot to check off the list. And in that sense, it delivered, an experience, a story, something worth writing about.

I've definitely been coming here since the beginning, thanks to my mom! It's stood out from the very beginning & I love how much they have expanded. There's something for everyone on their men. I think they have some of the best matcha's around (but if you drink your matcha with LOTS of sweetener.. you probably won't like a real matcha from here) -- I say this bc people complain that it taste like GRASS... and well, it damn near is (green tea leaves) lol -- all jokes aside, their drinks and food are all hand crafted and all made and / or roasted in house! I have not once ever had a complaint about this place. I love the ambience inside and out. Plenty of spaces to work from (one of my fav spots) Service is always ask expected for hand crafted drinks and food! The workers are always very knowledgeable about their menu items & products, love that! Their pop tarts... if you can get them when they have them.. TRY THEM OUT!! You find it because someone told you about it, or because you were looking for a place that feels a little more city than Central Valley. Brick walls, hanging art, a patio out front call it rustic, call it urban, call it hipster. Whatever the word is, it fits. Inside, the place hums. Not the quiet hum of a sleepy café, but the full‑volume buzz of people who treat coffee shops like co‑working spaces. The whole back section was a sea of laptops when I walked in, a slow tide of remote workers drifting out as the hour passed. Young folks, older folks, groups talking over each other a mix that tells you this spot has become a kind of community hub, even if the noise makes it hard to read without noise‑canceling buds. I came for a simple moment, a London Fog and a book. The tea was good, made with Rishi, a brand I'd never heard of but wouldn't mind trying again. I sipped it slowly, trying to sink into the page, but the chatter kept pulling me back to the room. Not a bad thing, just not the right place for quiet reflection. Some cafés are built for solitude; this one is built for motion. The staff was friendly, your standard modern barista crew, casual, quick, and easygoing. They run a tight operation, even offering mobile orders, something you usually see in bigger industrial coffee spots. Pastries, sandwiches, teas, espresso, the menu covers all the bases. Finding the entrance was its own adventure. Two doors, a divider in the middle, and a moment of "Wait... which side do I go through?" Not a dealbreaker, just one of those quirks that makes you laugh once you figure it out. Lighting is interesting here, low lamps mixed with a flood of natural light pouring in from the center of the shop. It gives the place a warm‑meets‑industrial feel, like a café that grew out of a warehouse and decided to keep the personality. Will I come back? Maybe. It's a great spot for people‑watching, conversation, or getting work done. But for reading, for sinking into a book with a drink, it's a place that demands either silence from the world or silence from your earbuds. Component Coffee Lab is loud, lively, and loved, just not quiet. And maybe that's the point.

That server could have corrected this but instead said that we were not in her area and our waitress had broken a cup and cut herself. She could have been more gracious and taken our drink order. Our server came over a couple of minutes later and apologized, but she seemed overwhelmed. We received our coffee and later our food, but I asked for milk for my coffee on three occasions before any was brought to me. The food was good and was served fairly promptly but no refills on coffee were offered and when we asked for refills there our request was acknowledged but never fulfilled. When we went to the counter to pay our check, our server was unable to make change for a $52.08 bill from $62.08. This could be a good local place based on the food, but the service is such that I cannot recommend it.
