Fritz, the general manger, has been a negative addition to this location. I have been ordering take-out from this location for years on Sundays, but Fritz's presence hasn't helped. The staff seems to know what to do and when to do it - as they have for the past few years. Today, I placed a telephone order with Fritz at about 10:18am and asked how long it would be - I got a reponse of 10-15 minutes. I arrived at 10:37am and paid for my order soon after. When I arrived I saw Fritz and another employee making a smothie of mine. I waited with other people who were delivery services. Those people got their orders and left. Then there was myself and another guy waiting. At about 10:55am, Fritz asked us to move over so people and staff could pass - I obliged, but said- "I don't want you to forget about me". I really think my order had been ready and they forgot about me. I showed him my call log of when I placed my order and reminded him he told me there was a wait of 10-15 minutes (In my opinion, I didnt have a complicated order). He took my reciept and went to the back; I swear I heard an employee say it is right here, but he started making orders to the staff. I got my order within 1 minute of this. I finally get home and my order isnt even complete! I drive back to Denny's and ask for a refund. The rep tells me to wait, and Fritz comes out to go over my order. He trys to imply the order is correct - then I asked, "where are the pancakes?" I see the look on his face, which assured me he understood there is an issue with the order. He offers to get the pancakes, but I told him to just give me a refund. While giving me my refund, he was trying to say that everything else with the order was correct - but it wasn't! I told him the turkey bacon wasn't complete. I had to tell him I just want my refund and not to argue with me, especially since he as the general manager can't give a proper estimate of time for my order to be ready. Fritz gave me a cash refund for my credit card purchase, but wanted to keep my receipt. I told him I needed the receipt. He went back to make a copy of it. In my opinion, this location ran smoother before Fritz arrived. --------------- P.S. In November, I bought a $25.00 giftcard, but the cashier didn't properly load it. I checked the value while waiting for my food. It was resolved at the moment, but it made me a bit wary. read more

By far the rudest staff of any Denny's I've ever been to. I've never had to wait as long as I have here for literally every aspect of my visit. I have been to this Denny's three times now and each time I'm angry that I stopped here. The manager is quite possibly one of the rudest individuals I've come across in a customer service role. Just now three different groups were at the counter waiting to be seated and one of the managers kept walking by looking down without a single greeting of any kind to let us know that we would be seated "soon." On my walk to the restroom, I heard at least three separate tables complaining about their visit, and I watched one table get up and leave. I decided to leave as well. Don't come here. You'll spend an hour waiting to be seated and waiting on someone to take your order and waiting for the food to come out. It's honestly atrocious how poor their service is here. If the owner reads this review, you have a MAJOR problem at your restaurant and are losing money because of your staff. read more

I went to this restaurant yesterday in Westwood Village to have lunch there was a waitress there named Nomi if I'm not wrong who caught my eye. I paid attention to see how she is working. I first thought the store belongs to her. Since she was so active and working very hard. But I asked a gentleman who worked there and he said that she just works there. However she did something that brought up an awe. She noticed that I'm concerned about my parked car outside for the meter she offered coins to put them in herself when I refused she went outside and came back with the exact minute of the expiration on the meter. I rarely give out one star or less. I'm starting my review as we are still waiting to have our order taken after 35 mins. We were seated before two groups who came after us, seated to our right and left. They got their orders in before us! We spoke to the manager. He explained that another waitress was taking care of us. The other two tables were taken care of by a different waitress. No apologies, just excuses. Then he said it was our fault for being seated. WTH!! We were brought to the table and had no idea about their seating system. After we finally ordered, our food came out right away. However, I ordered the Cali Club Sandwich but received it without the avocados....Club Sandwich. I wanted them to just give us the avocados to take with my leftovers. The manager said he'd take care of it but it wasn't taken care of when we received our check. I don't mind paying for it. Just add my avocados. Okay, so finally he understood. He said he'd comp my meal and added slices of avocados. I guess I'd have to add half a star but what a hassle. Revised: taking away the added half star. The manager LIED! If you decide to eat here and the manager tells you he'll comp your meal, make sure he takes the receipt back and make the revision. I thought it was strange when he mentioned to take it to the cashier to have it taken off. He changed his mind and said he only charged for the club sandwich instead of the Cali club sandwich. Ay dios mio! What a way to start the New Year. I understand it's busy for them as it's New Year's Day, but come on, at least apologize for your unorganized system of taking care of your customers. My recommendation is develop teamwork. The star goes to the new busboy who took care of our drinks, working his butt off with a smile. Also, to the kitchen staff members for preparing our meals quickly, despite the waitress messing up my order. Our waitress was unapologetic and mentioned the manager was going to take it off our bill anyways. It was between this place and Norms. So very sorry guys for choosing this place. I have an affinity to Denny's from my childhood. Came here for a late-night dinner (love 24 hour places). The decor is a little drab, and the table I came and sat at had not been wiped yet. But our server was really nice and immediately came to help. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak omelette, which was decent for the price. It came with toast. All for $10. My friend ordered a burger with fries, but I guess they came out with the wrong fries, so they brought him the correct fries AND they took 20% off our bill. That's pretty awesome. I've been to plenty of fancy delicious breakfast/brunch spots in Beverly Hills/century city. But let's be real. I had a great breakfast per usual my server Monica was amazing, she exceeded my expectations. I was just a little disturbed by the way another server her name tag read Alejandra, Rudly kicked the man next to me out. He was sitting at the table next to me, we were both alone so we were having a great conversation. I had finished my breakfast and he was having his coffee. She asked if we were together I explained we were not and she said "ok because I need this table". The man I was speaking to got up and left right away without any issues, but there were other tables available. Every time I come here I leave disappointed. The service is ridiculously slow here despite the fact that when I come here in the morning, maybe 30% of the restaurant is full. I'd hate to see this place when it gets busy. Waitstaff seem generally friendly apart from taking forever to take my order (10-15 minutes after I seat myself, even when not busy). And I wish they had more substitution options. Every Denny's I've gone too offers cottage cheese as a substitution except this one, for reasons unknown. Also this morning they smashed part of my eggs under the cup of fruit I requested, so that's kinda sucky too. Sad thing is there isn't many places in Westwood Village to get breakfast. Poor customer service and poor quality of food.. The waitress did not come to our table and continuously asked us to give her a minute. My group noticed how there was plates of food on the the countertop, simply sitting there and getting cold. The tables around us had no food or water being served. The waitress that told us to give her a minute told us that we had another waitress who was assigned to our table who didn't even know that she was supposed to taking care of our table. So the first waitress took our order, clearly giving an attitude because she did not want to. When the food came out, it was cold and tasted like rubber. I will not be coming here again. read more

We ordered Denny's through postmates because we were too lazy to get out of the house I got the BYO slam with scrambled eggs, pancakes, hash-brown, and bacon. The hash-brown was wonderful, but the scrambled egg was dry. I've eaten at Denny's before but I didn't remember the egg being this overcooked before. In addition to that, they forgot my maple syrup! :( I had to eat the pancake without it and it wasn't very pleasing. Wilson got the country fried steak. too much gravy on the steak, and the taste was somewhat mediocre. hash brown and eggs were good, but definitely not amazing. Sorrily I have not eaten at this Denny"s. I live in New York and have always enjoyed our version of Denny"s. However, yesterday the Staff at this Denny's saved my son"s life. For the past ten years he has struggled to get clean and sober. It has not been a straight or easy road to health for him. Stumbling in and obviously in pain and starving, the staff offered him leftovers and not only called but texted someone who could help him. So, with their care and compassion and empathy, this staff gave my son a chance at one more day. And who knows, maybe this will be the day that matters. Good place to eat, if you're looking for a place to eat late night, not much things open in Westwood very very late. There is also no parking lot for this location, and very limited parking space. Also the street in front of the restaurant is in front of a one way street, so may have to double around if you can't find space on the first try. Their service is pretty slow, it does take a while for an employee to sit you, so I would recommend knowing your order beforehand. Food also takes a while, depending on how many other people are in the place. It is a good place for groups however, seeing that they do have a lot of seating that can accommodate people. The food is average, but they have a lot of student deals that people can take advantage of just by showing your bruincard. There is also a discount that comes with checking into Yelp, which is worth checking out. Overall, just another standard Denny's. read more
