My server was Tiffany and it was only her second day but she was on-point the entire time, not only with me but prompt with every table that was sat with her. I'm currently on a high protein diet and she was fast to point out healthy options. The diner is very clean and updated. The manager greeted me nicely and sat me within a minute on a Saturday at noon. Wonderful experience.

    World's best coffee....

Good food, good service (thanks Danielle), and world's best coffee... We'll definitely be coming back.

another one where with the exception of mine last year the reviews are quite a few years old so compared to Google time to show a little Yelp love here time to up it by one star. consistently the meals I've had here with the exception of one dismal one have been on point and above par. they do a real good job of keeping this place clean sanitized the employees have really good attitudes and it's been getting a whole lot better I've been making this one in my regular stops now where I feel anyway but to be able to have a good meal to look forward to. whether it's one of the breakfasts or the dinners keep up the good work. today I woke up a little later and I said I'm going to have brunch and really get my eat on. haven't had steak and eggs for a while so I decided what the hell I've been a good boy. I didn't want a t-bone but I wanted to sirloin so I got myself a sirloin breakfast with it's on medium right on. hash browns were done nice little bit of crisps to them but quite tasty once you mashed up the eggs and got it all together. coffee was good hot and fresh waitress kept refilling that's one thing I've noticed a check on you a whole lot more here too so the reason for upping it to Star as of now.

Best Denny's I've ever been to. The service was wonderful, the food was fresh, the portions large, and everything tasty. We ordered bacon tots, chicken strips, the super slam (crunch hash browns and perfect pancakes), chicken fried steak, and I ordered a chicken Cobb and avocado salad. One person asked for extra butter and they gave us an entire bowl full! Everything was perfect. The only thing is the mashed potatoes weren't very good but everything else so amazing. I'm now a Denny's convert.

This Oreo Shake is just plain awesome!!!

This Flying J's Denny's is clean and very attentive. The manager was very nice, and you can really see that guest and food come first.

Avocado chicken Cesar salad gone in 2 min because they skimmed on the lettuce .. cheapest place I've ever seen

The cafe is now owned by Diane, Ann's daughter. The tables are packed tightly together, but we were happy to get the last seats in the house. Nostalgic photos of Franklin cover the walls. The place is loud but with a great positive energy. People are small-town friendly and talk between tables as they enjoy their biscuits and gravy. We cajoled with two regulars who told funny stories. Our server, Gill, was quick to the table and friendly. He checked on us several times to see if we needed anything. The menu is a mix of traditional breakfast options, sandwiches, salads and wraps. Prices are reasonable. Food came out quickly. My husband ordered their hand breaded tenderloin with fries. The tenderloin was massive with a great browned breading, served on a Kaiser roll. The pork was tender and juicy. It was a perfect tenderloin, worthy of the Indiana Tenderloin Trail. The hand-cut fries are lightly breaded, crispy and hot. There was an up-charge for the fries, but they were so good and worth it. It was rainy outside, so I had a bowl of the daily soup - broccoli cheddar. The soup was hot, thick, creamy with lots of broccoli and cheese and stuck to my ribs. My soup was served with packs of saltines. Free street parking is available if you're lucky to grab a spot. Well worth the drive to Franklin. Ps. They are closed Saturday and Sunday!

And he said the menu will expand again soon. Since I was by myself and he had some time, he sat down and we chatted for awhile. The seating at both restaurants, and you can call them that now since they do not just sell drinks anymore, has been greatly expanded both indoors and outside. He also told me they are working on opening a Plainfield location. I ordered a grilled cheese along with a sugar pie slice and a London fog. They have other baked good options which looked good too. The grilled cheese was very small and I think cheese got into the pan because it was also cooked onto the bottom side of the sandwich. It was a very small grilled cheese. The London fog tasted quite strong and the sugar pie didn't really stand out. There were other items on the menu though that I'd love to try if I ever go back. What I think took this down to 3 stars was the service. When I went to order, I was just stared at and I thought maybe they weren't ready for me yet but they were. There was just no greeting of "Hi, welcome in" or even a "What can I get for you?" It was just a stare and silence. Now the staff were not unkind...they certainly seemed friendly but that lack of greeting didn't feel great. Additionally, they were very quiet or mumbled when calling out orders and so it seemed like many people listening never heard their order including me. I also had to ask again for the pie after having paid. I bought a bandana as well and didn't see the price tag. When I asked how much it was the staff member said it was either 12 or 15 dollars. She rang it up as 15 when later I saw the price tag and it clearly said $12. I showed the staff member and she said it was $15 and it was a handwriting issue for the price tag. I rarely write reviews less than five stars but I do think if there could be a bit more initiative from the staff and orders called out more clearly and louder for drinks so they don't spoil that would really help.

Throughout the meal we continued to hear the person working at the host stand talking about how the owner will not fix the water damaged, bulging ceiling tiles. Not my favorite topic of breakfast. The service was fast and we loved our server. She always had my cup of coffee full and checked on us a few times throughout the meal. Very personable! The food was less than ideal. My pancakes were thin, dense, and too crispy. Not the good crispy edge from butter on a griddle, but dry as if it has been under a warmer all morning. My over medium eggs were good, but the hash browns were lacking any flavor at all. My husband really liked his chicken fried steak, and at $4 it was well worth it. The portion size was huge! He also ordered a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich. I tried it and it also was lacking flavor. No real bacon flavor and could have used some salt. It didn't take long to decide on the Eggs Benedict which came with choice of several sides: I went with the fresh fruit. The place was nearly full, yet it wasn't that loud. It made waiting for my order pleasant. My coffee got topped off a couple times and I really appreciated that the temperature was immediately drinkable while providing a deep rich flavor. My order arrived along with my bill (my waitress hadn't asked if there would be anything else and also forgot to bring silverware.) I grabbed a napkin-rolled set of utensils from the counter and dug into my meal. The Canadian Bacon was thick cut and tasty. The eggs were poached to where there was just a small trickle of yolk when sliced. The Hollandaise Sauce was okay, but not as flavorful as I've had elsewhere. The fruit was house cut, but wasn't the freshest. Still okay, but maybe it had been cut hours before. I appreciate that they provided a steak knife to facilitate cutting through the stack, including the English muffin on the bottom. I was soon paying my bill at the cash register by the entrance and was on my way. Just enough to be full without feeling stuffed. Review #2798

I totally recommend this spot if you live near or in this area!

If nothing else, it's worth stopping in to soak in all the old timey charm and enjoy a piece of Hoosier history. The restaurant function of the space I was a little more iffy on. In concept, I think it's really fun. The antique post office doesn't lend itself to fine dining. And neither did the menu or the staff. But the idea of eating in this unique space is fun. The food, staff, and pricing were all fairly problematic. We got what at best was Olive Garden/Applebees fare at St. Elmo's prices. I say "at best" because I found all the dishes I tried inedible or close to it. I had a Caesar salad, deviled eggs, and the diablo chicken pasta. First, surprisingly, the diablo chicken pasta was spicy! It's rare in Southern Indiana for something labeled spicy to live up to the reputation. But this was Thai-food levels of spicy. Much spicier than Nashville Hot Chicken. This was bring you to Jesus levels of hot sauce. There wasn't much of any chicken in it. So it was just noodles and some kind of sauce that puts Louisiana Hot Sauce to shame. There was a little spattering of parm and some parsley for looks on top. I wasn't offered any additional parm. Had I been prepped for Thai/Indian/Asian levels of spice, I might have been happy with it. But I found it inedible as there was no flavor other than "Ouch!" The caesar salad had no anchovy taste to it, and also lacked any parm. There wasn't even decorative parm. That was weird. It was just romaine lettuce and a watery, Caesar dressing colored mayo sauce with a few croutons. It was at least edible. The deviled eggs were sweeter than skittles. And instead of paprika, they had some type of bbq spice rub liberally sprinkled over them. My mouth wasn't prepared for that and I was so shocked by the flavor that the other people laughed at the unintentional face I made. My son didn't finish his chicken parm either. So I don't think I just lucked out with the wrong choices. My other kid got a steak, and he seemed happy with hit. That might be the one thing to stick to on the menu if you're there. The staff were OK-ish. They had a strange air of being off-put by us, but I'm not sure why. We were friendly, tipped well, and were decently dressed, etc. The manager or owner did come out and ask about the deviled eggs as the eggs went uneaten. I had to admit they weren't to my taste, but I was nice about it. Definitely not somewhere I would try again. But it's an OK stop if you don't mind the prices and are interested in the post office atmosphere.
