My daughter was visiting from Cali where there are no Waffle Houses so we had to pop in to get her fix. There was a booth open so we sat down right away and Mackenzie greeted us right away. She was very nice. Kiddo ordered waffles and cheesy eggs and I ordered the Cheesy Sausage, Egg and Hashbrowns Bowl. I asked for my hashbrowns to be well done and they were. I also asked for gravy on the side which made it so much better. Next time I'll ask for extra cheese. Overall, everything was delicious. My daughter could only eat one waffle and I could only eat about 1/2 of my food so we packed everything up and took it with us. Good old Waffle House,,, Always open! A lot of eateries are closed on Sunday so I stopped in here and I was able to get a counter seat right away even though folks were waiting for booths. But because it was so busy the server's were waiting on the grill men to catch up so they could submit their orders. Watching the hustle and bustle from the counter is kind of entertaining. Watching everyone going back and forth without crashing into each other is impressive. Breakfast time on weekends is always crowded no matter where you go. I was actually surprised I could sit down right away but a lot of people don't like the counter. There were three guys working the kitchen side. One doing waffles, toast and hash browns; another doing eggs and grits and the third did the sausage, bacon, and burgers. Very well coordinated. I ordered a Deluxe Cheeseburger plate with Hash Browns. The food was very good just like I knew it would be and was everything I expected. Good place to get breakfast or if it's late brunch. The staff are nice in this Waffle House and for the most part they keep it clean, "for the most part"! Not much to say about this restaurant but if you're hungry, they have a good breakfast and not too expensive. I do have a few cons about it though, the place is small and they get busy, so more than likely you'll have to wait. We were in the parking lot taking orders from my brother and his girlfriend when a worker came out and told us to lower our voices because we were disturbing the white people. We brushed it off. We went inside and as soon as we opened the door they said "we don't serve people like you." I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHO HAD THE AUDACITY TO TALK TO ME LIKE THAT. It was 2:30 AM the "night" of Thanksgiving. I have a brother that has been serving in the military for 4 years and so has his girlfriend. So I'm not really sure how I want to go about this review. I'm not happy with waffle house as a business....but the server working tonight I feel really bad for. My friend and I randomly saw waffles on TV and decided we wanted to go out for waffles at 11 PM. We went over to waffle house and there were four tables with people at it and one worker to be seen. The poor girl was running around like a mad woman taking care of the customers and doing all the cooking and she kept telling us she will be right with us. We felt bad for her. Then an apparent regular customer came in and asked her where is everyone and she said they all left. I'm not really sure what was going on or where the staff was but it was ridiculous to have one poor girl running around like a mad woman taking care of that many tables and cooking. It had been somewhere over 10 minutes and then some random dude walked in and apparently he worked there because he went behind the counter. She asked if he could help us so he came over and asked what we wanted to drink and eat. We told him we just wanted water and one waffle each. So a few minutes later he came back with our waters and we both took a swig. While I was drinking did I looked over at my friend and I noticed a bunch of stuff floating at the bottom of her cup. About five big chunks and then some little ones as well. I yanked the cup from her and showed her. Then I looked at mine and mine only had two big chunks of whatever it was but still they were in my cup too. I put them at the edge of the table to show that we were not drinking them. Then a couple minutes later I looked over at the guy making our waffles and I noticed one of the waffles was totally messed up and the he threw it in the trash. He brought over one waffle and said he messed up one and he had to make another so then he did and I got mine a few minutes later. The waffles weren't bad atleast. Then a while after we ate she came over and said the waffles were on the house because we waited so long. I felt bad because it wasn't her fault but I wasn't thrilled about the experience so we accepted. She wasn't even aware about the water just the wait. So that shows how long we waited I guess lol. I usually stop by here once in a while for hash browns. It's the standard waffle house. Some of the waitresses have worked here forever and sometimes are not the most chipper of souls. I had a brand new girl this time. She was kind and apologetic for any mistake she made. Which I found refreshing, everyone has to learn. First of all this is waffle house so you can't have too high of expectations.with that being said, the food has always been good. Service wise though it isn't the worst, but definitely isn't the best. Usually the server has little interaction with you other than taking your order. At least that was how our server was today. She wasn't the friendliest person I've ever met. She took our order and didn't screw it up, which is a plus. When our food did come out it was good and hot. She also did a nice job keeping our drinks full. Since the kitchen is out in the open and ready for the world to see, its always fun just to watch how they all interact with each other. They of course do so in a professional manner but also bark out orders to each other.
